Ivan Fischer is a master teacher: modest, practical, articulate. Really pays attention to each student. His musicality is superb. His instructions to the orchestra are clear and extremely helpful. Always searching for the essence of each musical statement within the composition. The orchestra’s response to him is immediate. His lessons are wisdom that applies to all of life’s challenges. Always emphasizing the difference between the subjective truth and the objective truth in music. A master in getting out of the way. A true artist.
Thank you, orchestra, conductors, and maestro Fischer! Such rich insight from a wise master musician. A wonderful learning opportunity in REAL LIFE time. This is moment by moment captivating in wondering what will happen next! Love this!
For those who are interested. The idea of modern instruments in an symphony orchestra Ivan Fischer is talking about. An example would be The Black Mages, lead by Japanese composer Nobuo Uematsu.
Apply to participate in the Ammodo conducting masterclass with Fabio Luisi and the Concertgebouworkest, taking place from 27 to 29 June 2022 at The Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. Apply through Muvac: bit.ly/3rjhyLJ. Deadline: 16 December 2021.
The sheer amount of arm and body movement of these student conductors is almost surreal. It feels extraordinarily distracting and exhausting. Why so much flailing? Movement in conducting to me, anyway, falls in line with "less is more." Thanks so much to Maestro Fischer & the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.
@@Concertgebouworkest Thank you so much for responding! Yes, it is now appearing in HD - thanks. I know it can take some time for UA-cam to do its thing , so I deliberately waited several hours to comment. Guess I didn't wait long enough. Again, thanks for responding!
Fisher interrupts all the time ?! Really? On the contrary, he has been so lenient !!! I would have stopped them every measure ! Or give up... The conductor of the Brahms Symphony, in particular, is a good example of an individual who was unable to connect with the players. His whole approach to music-making is unbearable to me. No need to elaborate... Unfortunate....

The best thing the RCO can do for a bright future is to make sure Ivan Fischer becomes their next chief conductor.

I have just reconsidered everything after this Mozart performance!

When every beat has more emotion than God, what is left? Even the bugs are weeping
All the other sessions of this series were uploaded in HD. :(
This one is in HD as well. I think UA-cam hadn't processed the video yet when you watched it yesterday. Can you try again?
