Just watched it again on big-screen TV - you must see it on a big screen. I like it as a trim character study of champions who are flawed people and what made them that way. Shaking my head about how Robert filmed the "gate" sequence. What's also notable is the director also made the wonderful The Candidate, which also has Redford in a "what do I do now?" ending.
