    I bought my Velvetiser 2 years ago and honestly it’s hands down one of the best kitchen gadgets I own. Worth every penny!

    For dairy alternatives I have tried a lot of different products but I highly recommend the Barista Oatly (it's the grey carton) as it creates a nice texture and has a smooth and ironically creamy taste. Try it yourself!
    The almond stuff? Not too keen. Soya? It's alright. But these other things tend to add a weird taste.

      I agree I don't have one of these yet but I've tried several cows milk alternatives. The only one I like is oat milk. The nicest beings its not milk.

    Just brought this from amazon today, £79.00, so excited to use tomorrow. Update: The charcoal version is now on sale as well, so I returned the copper version for the charcoal. Just made my first cup, it's amazing, worth the money.

    There’s also a ridge on the plastic insert that’s handy for filling to the right level as the marks on the sides are a little hard to see

    I have just purchased the hotel chocolat velvetiser and I'm diabetic but love my hot chocolate, so if any one can advise me of a lower sugar one, that would be very much appreciated. The video is great, thanks for sharing.

      Honestly? I'd get yourself some Green & Black's cocoa powder from the supermarket instead. If you're making it with all milk, the lactose in that is a natural sugar so offers up some sweetness - anything with an -ose is sugar: _glucose, fructose, lactose._ I've drunk G&B for years without sugar even when I don't make it with all milk, and I love it.
      Yes, G&B is more expensive, but I use less of it than Bournville etc, because it's more intense and you certainly wouldn't need six spoons of it. 😬

    Would you say it’s worth buying if you were going to mainly be using with powdered hot chocolate if you were trying to save on calories ? Or just better off doing it with a kettle if your not using the proper sachets of flaked chocolate

    If you heat chocolate past 70 you will start to get a burnt taste, that’s why they say the perfect hot chocolate is between 67/69

    • @lindathomas5500
      @lindathomas5500 2 роки тому +3

      There’s also the fact it will also start to taste grainy…. That’s why instant is ground because people tend to use hotter liquids so by grinding it to a powder there is less likely for it to taste and feel grainy.

    What happened with the good old pan and whisk? Heat the milk, throw in some chocolate pieces (lidl or aldi ones will do) and whisk the whole thing.

    £8.00 for 350grams of ground hotel chocolate, what a con don't buy it folks get some galaxy or dairy milk for only £4.00 for 400grams + and then put the chocolate in the fridge and then in a blender or finely grate it
