- When Emir Dag came to Canada from Turkey four years ago he had no English skills, now he's being recognized as one of TDSB's top scholars. We speak with the 18-year-old about finishing grade 12 with a perfect average, and hear from his proud family.
Nobody gets 100% in English class.
Even English is not a 100% completed language. It has too many exceptions

@@lohvrti I don't know what FFs means but the 8 teachers in my family and friend circle say the kids aren't being challenged most will suffer when in class School begins

no actually, there are others who are quite successful like him, but he’s the first person in the tdsb to get a 100% average. some others are behind him by .1% or a bit more, but hearing 100% sounds better to a person than 99.9% average. Honestly, that’s just how our brains work.
I bet his teachers are from Turkey also.. Let's see this kid in a different school..

This is the argument for standardized testing and grading on a curve...marks are so arbitrary. I don't doubt this kid's brightness and work ethic but I would be cool with 99.9% over 100%
