- Nigel invited us back out to @dalton4x4offroad in the Lake District to have a go at his fully fledged off road course!
With rough terrain, steep hills, rocks, branches and plenty of deep mud to get stuck in, we decided to set a challenge to see which off roader is the best... but the Yeti may have finally met its match 😱

Axle articulation on that series 1 Disco! Everyone did really well to have a bloody good go. George has grown so much! Brilliant video.

I know he's probably the most experienced off roader and has the most technologically advanced car, but god did he make it look easy in that defender!
Even though land rovers have there faults i just love how easy they make it look, great video guys 👌👍

I love to see how much fun can be had in a field with lots of mud 😂 it’s so British 🇬🇧!
Seeing this thing kinda makes me wonder if any of the Syncro or 4Motion VWs could be made an overlander, though likely a bit small in the case of a New Beetle or Golf in case of overlanding, having a tent etc, so maybe like a Passat or Golf estate if ya got those with 4motion. But also... as ya do build cars, a Polo Cross with actual AWD would be hilarious, make the car it's trying to seem like. :P
But weird thoughts aside, I do love that Yeti, it's fun seeing different routes explored, the cheap Amarok seems almost mundane in comparison... but still, it'll be interesting following that as well, see what y'all do with it.
Loving the off-road/overland content lads! Yeti may have lost, but done extremely well given that course I'd say. That V10 Touareg on full chat though, what a noise. 👍👍
Shame to see the Yeti go, great little car for what it is. Another good little off roader is the Dacia Duster, it's as cheap as chips and pretty capable from factory, much better with a few mods. I say this as I have one I've lifted with a locking diff but would love to see what you could do to a Duster!
The Disco was good because of solid axels more than the tires. The any decent mud tires will perform just as well in this kind of terrain
great video chaps looks like a good place to off road , haveing a set course to follow can make it better than a free for all . That disco 1 didnt sound like it had a land rover engine in it
The Yeti can hold it's head high. It may have scored fewer points but it punched well above it's weight.

I think the Disco should have got an extra point for not having electronic traction control.

I feel like the Touareg isn't as high as what it normally is?
Nothing has changed suspension wise, tires are still 33" as well. Might just be the new style wheel that's making it look a little lower but it's still the same

Awww man!! Just when you were onto something, but I get it's the wrong tool for the job offroad....
Its a really good tool for off road but we cant take it much further without it being a true 1 off!
