I love Jack & the Beanstalk! It was cool to run into you there! They've been so helpful. I'm new to the area, and I've been applying some of the learning from your show on what kinds of trees to plant, and they've got everything I want! I've picked up mango, avocado, and tropical almonds. Getting Miracle fruit soon & some Everglades tomatoes and much more. Their customer service is absolutely excellent! I needed help with my lychee tree and they came over and spent time with me, explaining how to improve the neglected trees on my new property. Can't recommend them highly enough!
Great video . I didn't think i wa going to get anything out of this video but i did. I have most of those varieties but i am trying to get my hands on that variegated variety.
Banana plants actually produce another crop that most people dont know and waste.....the inner most white core of the Pstem is edible and very nutritious. Great to use as a vegetable, in salads or wherever. Before you chop and drop the pstem, remove the inner most core and use for food.
The entire banana industry based mainly on the Gros Michel was wiped out in Jamaica (& all of Central America) by the Panma Disease caused by a soil-borne fungus, Fusarium Wilt. This all happened in the '50s & '60s.
It's selfish, dangerous, & illegal to stuff your luggage with living plant material & not declare them at the airport customs. Get advise directly from the Department of Agriculture or the local embassy.
@@arawak3622 Pretty much everything you said is incorrect because all we do is import plants. There is simply authorized and unauthorized. How do you think mango trees from India get here? It's by far a net positive to trade these resources.
This nursery sold me a mislabeled banana plant. They said it came from a tissue culture so obviously their sources aren't trustworthy. It was supposed to be Goldfinger, but it didn't look at all like Goldfinger. They should have known it wasn't Goldfinger by its appearance but were still selling it as such. I took it anyway but did my research at home and figured out it was actually Dwarf Cavendish. Fortunately they gave me a full refund, but experiences like this make you not trust a nursery.
First of all we want apologize for the inconvenient , I remember this episode happened over 2 years ago like yesterday .I remember was only 1 left you were not sure asked me to give a discount which we did leave it for $25 they ypu came back we refund $30 we took this as lesson to find out where was the problem which was human mistake in the process anyhow since then we restructure our propagation area now we have process not just careful with label also keep a log to ensure this would not happen again was honest mistake we will ensure this will not happen again .
Thank you for responding to my concerns, and I accept your apologies and explanation. I'm happy to learn that this incident has helped you to improve your operations. The Simmonds avocado tree that I bought on that occasion has done very well and is a beautiful tree.@@catherinegutarra4937
Thank you for responding and for addressing our concerns. It seems you have satisfactorily addressed the issues and have remedied the situation. This is reassuring and gives us confidence. Also, thank you for a very informative video about bananas.@@catherinegutarra4937
@@Carlos1075tissue culture plant is like a newborn, you don't expect a newborn to walk and talk, it needs to mature. It is like growing from seeds, just avoid
All suckers will grow to mature plants and bear fruit, if left to grow or are replanted. However, water suckes are regarded as runts & do not thrive or produce as well as sword suckers
Logic: leaves are where a plant derives its energy, including for developing fruit. Therefore removing leaves = less energy for fruit development. Do NOT remove leaves, particularly when fruit is developing. Use common sense people.

I’ve been buying from here since 2018. The best nursery in the county
Real happy to see you figured out how to adjust the settings on the camera! Great job
Yes me also. I actually ended up getting another camera. I couldn't figure it out on the other one.

Nice to meet you also. Thank you for watching my videos and when your trees grow up let me know so I can come and film them.
I have bought many nice mango and avocado trees from this nursery. Nice video
I love going this nursery! They also give good military discount!
Woww incredible knowledgeable! Thanks for the video! Amazing! 🤩

Good people who stand behind their products
I grow bananas in Sacramento California. Just protect them from frost in the winter. Fruits in the summer!
do you get fruit on them

Gros Michel is a French Name. The French first introduced it to Martinique and then Jamaica.

Great info 👍 I didn’t know, bananas produce suckers that don’t produce fruit.
This is a common misconception. Sword suckers have more energy and often grow and fruit quicker, but all pups are capable of fruiting.
My water sucker is fruiting right now, it just takes longer. But they will fruit

Which banana is the fastest fruiting banana?
Kokopo short cycle
Veinte Cohol is what you want. Best combination of taste and speed of fruition.
Can someone tell me how I can bring these varieties to my country if seeds are not an option? Are people stuffing small trees in suitcases?
@@Carlos1075 I'm from the US but I'm relocating to southern Brazil. Any ideas would be much appreciated!
