Nice idea using old board running again. I have a question did u change the CPU. If Yes what cpu model did you use and what ram 8gb. The suppers did you use brand name. Im planning to build one with my old motherboard. More power to your channel. Tnx

Hi Dragan, thank you for watching my video. No I didn't have to do anything to the mobo. Usually there is no overclocking happening on the mobo side. On some motherboards, you'd need to enable 4G decoding, but that's on newer motherboards that have been around for the past couple of years. On these old ones, that setting isn't available. You might have some settings regarding PCIE allocation and speed that need adjustment.
what version of hiveos? Im trying with eh latest but doesnt boot up on old comp. Had to downgrade to older version and works with one card but versy shaky with 4 cards not really working with Intel DP35DP MB

I was watching your video, I have the same MOBO P5Q3 Deluxe, I do not use it for mining, only for office tasks, I understand that you use a GTX 1660 card, I want to put a GT 1030 card on my PC, which is of lower quality than the GTX 1660, I really don't know if that video card will work on my mobo, do you think the GT 1030 will work? , thanks greetings!
Hey great video I’m actually using a motherboard right now from 2009 from an old computer seems to boot up perfectly and runs hive os recognizes both graphics cards but when it comes to mining with flight sheet it gives a Cuda error And asks if I have Nvidia drivers installed exits and says cooling down I tried using stable version drivers and the newest version drivers also I updated to the newest Hive OS version should I try and go older for the drivers thanks for any help
@@DaniTalksTech I have been mining with 6 GPUs on this MOBO (with one Biostar 4-PCIe riser splitter which can run 4 gpus in one PCIe x1 slot), it runs very nicely. I however am not able to go over six GPUs, after inserting the 7th HiveOs won't even boot and mem test freezes after a few seconds. Have tried changing some settings in BIOS with no luck. With MOBO this old, I should probably be grataful for 6, on the other hand, theoretically, it should be able to handle 16 PCIe lanes, the same goes for the CPU (I have Core 2 Quad) so if anybody knew a workaround here, it would be greatly appreciated. Anyhow, I'll probably order a newer MOBO soon and replace it ...

Mining here with several AM2+ DDR2 motherboards with 4 PCI-E and RX570/RX580 4GB/8GB. Also some RX460, R7 360s, R9 380s

PCIE is the way to go. I don't know much about PCI but I read somewhere that it shouldn't be used. I have only used PCIE.

Hi, I bought the Gigabyte GT 1030 graphics card and it works fine. But I only use it for office tasks. Greetings.

Anyone tried running 6+ GPU on this Mobo?
The old mobo in the video Alan won't accept 6+ GPUs. It stopped booting after 4 GPUs.
