It was then licensed to the UK label Streetwave. The Acapella vocals from that version were then used for a bootleg remix over the top of "Your Love" by Frankie Knuckles in 1989. A re-recorded version of this 1989 mashup was then released in 1991 as "Truelove Presents... The Source Featuring Candi Staton" - the artist "The Source" for that version had nothing to do with the American artist of the same name and was a psuedonym of John Truelove. Few people realise that the proper original version of this song is a disco/funk thing with a backing track that sounds a bit like "Somebody Else's Guy". When people remix or do a cover version it's usually of the 1989, 1991 or 1997 versions. Florence and the Machine's version for example was a cover of the 1997 Now Voyager remix.

I disagree, often a maturing voice lends something new to a beloved peice like this. I like her sound here too. Remember how Paul Weller’s voice developed after Style Council? Imagine if he’d “called it a day” …I’ll rest my case there, have a beautiful and blessed day.😊❤

This festival was obviously aimed at a certain demographic. Not aimed at youth because they don't have the funds . They do what Disney Films do and bring out ols ones a generation later so they buy tickets for their kids . Clever marketing but leaving out a youth culture isn't cool .

Something seems somewhat dark here bordering on the satanic? Yes, your voice (as has mine), has faltered and we have to compensate here and there for the change that has happened to our vocals. Question. Is this music feel or even the music itself glorifying God? Not judging my sweet. But I myself have learned that if we do anything secular, that is outside of God's glorification of and for Him, we'd better talk to Him about it first. Does God really want us "out there" with the secular world in which most in that world do not know Him or seek to Glorify Him? Your vocals are still lovely, and they touch me regardless; but go to God and talk to Him about what you are doing; is it for the money? Is it for self? Does it glorify God and is it all really for Him? Your vocals will clear up when you go to Him with pure truth and honesty relative to why and what you are doing and what you do now.......is it for Him, or is it for yourself and your selfish ambitions? I don't think I would want to be performing for secular masses in my 80's healthy or not; if I do, it has to be for God and God only.
This is what I don’t like about Glastonbury. Instead of having a young band on and giving them a break they dig up a half dead artist who was big in the 70’s (and I don’t mean to sound horrible) but she sounds awful.
leave it out - there are literally 1000's of acts & bands that played across the weekend & Candi is just one of them. to have an artist play a track that 99.9% of the crowd knows all of the words to - that's no only entertainment but an absolute privilege IMO.
The age of the artist(e)s shows how dire music is these days. There is better music playing in Tesco than what is in the charts now as all the good stuff is mostly 30 plus years old.
