I don't think so. The Witch is by the house which was on top of the hill and the fight was right at the bottom of the hill. In D&D the spell Protection from arrows, requires the user to physically touch the creature they want to protect, and the spell Warding Wind which sounds more like the spell she used, only has a range of 10 ft and judging from their distance, that's like more than 50 ft. Also both spells only work on projectile weapons like arrows, bolts, and throwing weapons, weapons that requires the user to hold the end of a weapons like chained weapons are considered melee and the spell does not effect it. The Lancer simply calmed down and gambled, he tilted his head just enough to dodge the attack.

Where if you put a drop of blood in your eye (like that one from when he was a child) you can enter a state where you can sense the vulnerable parts of enemies and deal extra precision damage to them. Aesthetically, the spell makes your eye glow red. Presumably Goblin Slayer just does this instinctually since his world doesn't behave strictly like D&D.
The other 'high level' adventurers (Lancer/Sorceress/Guts/Paladin etc) were Silver rank, just like Goblin Slayer. Sword Maiden is the only Gold rank we've seen, and The Hero is the only Platinum rank alive.
It's why the line "So he really is a Silver rank" was such a big deal, up until that point that had been looking down on him as being undeserving of the same rank as them.
Apparently there are only 16 Platinums EVER. Not right now, but EVER, dead or alive. Even Golds are EXTREMELY rare. That's why GS being a Silver was so shocking to people, like you said. Also, that part at the end about "He refuses to let the gods roll the dice" is REALLY IMPORTANT. It's LITERAL - the idea is that *probably* this world/dimension/universe/whatever is heavily influenced by actual games of D&D in our world. In other words, what happens in the games that people play here affects what happens in this world. But GS doesn't follow that rule. The gods could determine that he's supposed to die, but he slides past it. They could send an endless force against him, and somehow his preparation, creativity and determination would allow him to SOMEHOW survive. He literally defies the gods and there's nothing they can do about it.
"There's nowhere to go from the Goblin Lord" Dont forget, this happened BEFORE Watertown in the original timeline. Dont under estimated the writer's ability to make things more difficult without introducing more powerful monsters. But there is a side story(like the one with rookies hunting rats in the sewer), where Heavy Swordsman, Spearman, and Goblin Slayer go to take down a "Demon Tower" together. So, one way or another, Season 2 is gonna be A W E S O M E.
I really wish people would stop saying, "it's adapted from the light novel" like it means something. The anime has more in common with the manga. For example, in the first chapter of the manga, the group of rookies misses a side tunnel and Goblin Slayer calls it a common mistake. In the light novel, the goblins burrow straight through the wall. Which did the anime do? And no, water town did not happen before the Lord arc in the novel. The first volume of the novel does end with the lord arc though, which is probably where they got the idea to make it the season finale because it does make a great finale.
And I wish you fucks would stop mentioning the manga like it means something to US! We watch the anime! Shit that happens different in the manga don't matter!

Goblin Slayer saved the Hero girl when she was a kid. He took an entire goblin horde alone to protect her village. But that horde only had normal goblins.
Goblin slayer wasn't at full strength when he fought the Goblin lord. Remember how he told the Goblin lord, "You no longer have a home to return to"? It's because Goblin Slayer walked miles upon miles to the Goblin nest, had to kill the guards protecting it which would be a considerable amount considering the size of the nest, find the goblin children, take them out, hurry all the way back and fight the Goblin lord. If Goblin Slayer wasn't already exhausted, he would've dog walked the Goblin lord.
At the end after he takes his helmet of, not covered in the video, when they bring out the bet pool and someone actually bet on him being a goblin made me laugh.

Cow Girl isn't running away because that's what she did last time, abandoning GS and everyone at the village, safe in town, while they all got killed and ravaged. She's not going to do that to GS again. So she's staying there with him, no matter what. young Cow Girl was traumatized when she got back from town, finding her village burnt to the ground, with dead bodies everywhere and young GS no-where to be found... she went mute, not speaking at all for 5 whole years, not until GS finally returned from his training, did she finally speak for her first time, asking her uncle if GS could stay/live with them on the farm. also, GS first year of doing goblin slaying missions... was really rough... he got damaged badly many times... returning to the farm bleeding for days as he recovered... back during this time... Cow Girl was worried that one day he wouldn't return alive... and so it was really hard on her too... Cow Girl doesn't want for both of them to go through all of this stuff again, she doesn't want him and her to lose their home again, this time, she wants to protect their home, and be there with GS this time, protecting their home
You know what I wondered? How does the guild make the money to pay adventurers? Like, what's the economics involved in taking goblin heads where they can afford to give away one gold for each one.
Considering that requests to kill champions and hobgoblins would require silvers to defeat, the guild master actually didn't lose much gold with this scheme.
They also take commisions and intermediary fees from quest givers AND probably have some support from government. They are essentialy nationaly backed mercenary conglomerate.

You guys should react to the 1997 Berserk anime, honestly even though its from 20 years ago the animation is just about as good as Goblin Slayer, but theres also 3 movies covering the 1997 anime with sick animation you could always watch instead. Berserk is one of the Godfathers of anime and manga, its a story yous need to hear and see. Cant be an Anime King till you got Berserk under your belt.

It doesn't "radiate outward from her". Priestess selects where to make a wall each time she casts Protection.
