I like the D. Carter breakdown. The guy is a beast. His shooting is surprising (not that slow) with one of the wider arc I ever seen (maybe wider than Steph Curry himself) but he's so accurate...
You said a lot about his bounce, but you should say more about his speed, he was the fastest of *ANY* draft combine... ever!
Any team would love a D. White kind of guy on their roster!

Givony and Woo latest mock draft came out today. Just saw clips on Carter and he plays with a high motor, crafty, and competitiveness. I see some Jamal Murray and Ginobili in him. Maybe 8th pick?

Perfect draft for the spurs N°4 Risacher N°8 Castle

@@ivanrioblainteresting, if they get Risacher at 4 why do you think Dillingham would be better than Castle at 8? I’m not doubting you just curious

@@msorobia i'm down if they take SC at 8 or even 4 if they guarantee RD, D* provides an abstract offense that super unique, not many players can do that, similar to the 6.1 NY new star JB

@@msorobia lets remember what top NBA scouts said about curry / "Defensively, Curry puts a solid effort in but is extremely limited by his poor physical tools on this end of the floor. He lacks great height, length or strength, and possesses below-average lateral quickness, making him a potential defensive liability when being matched up with some of the more explosive guards the NBA is known for.
"Although offensively it appears that he can play both guard spots, on the defensive end he would likely struggle badly guarding NBA shooting guards." Very similar to why they think RD is not a top5. RD has potential star or superstar all over him

@@ivanriobla I like your take I was high on Rob Dillingham too, but I guess I was getting distracted by his height and weight as well, but to be honest deep down inside I think this guy is a future star and would fit very well with Wembanyama. We definitely should not sleep on this kid. Let’s see how he does when he comes back to the draft combine.

I'm a fan of castle (4) and carter (8). These two are elite gritty defenders and solid playmakers which is what we need the most. This will slide vassell to the 3 which is more of a natural fit for him so he can just go and score, and his footspeed on defense makes him a better match for guarding 3s opposed to guards. The shooting admittedly isn't great but if you can go get a grant williams and d'anthony melton that gives good proven young rotation guys to put around wemby.
S: Jones, Castle, Vassell, Sochan, Wemby
    B: Caster, Melton, KJ, Williams
Defense is the number one thing that pops off the page and I think that's always a good place to start. They'll score enough points as long as Dev can be more consitent and Wemby takes another leap

    Great analysis guys.
I would love to see the Spurs trade with the Lakers to get their #17 pick and go either:
    Sheppard, Williams, Durisic
Castle, Buzelis, Durisic (or AJ Mitchell)
    or
    Sheppard, Williams, Missi (or Ware)
These options mightn't be the sexiest picks at each spot though I think they are the combination of who is likely there at those spots that also plug gaps for the team now and into the future either as better supporting players or replaceable pieces to trade in the future if better option come up through the draft.

Honestly, I am pretty much where you guys are at with this draft. I care, but I also don't care at the same time. It just feels like any thing the Spurs choose to do will be okay. I'm not super high in any of these prospects except Sarr, but I can't see him falling far enough nor would I want the Spurs to try to trade up and lose future draft capital. I hope the Spurs use both picks and I do think there are players who will contribute next season. But I am just content to sit, wait, and watch.
That said I still think the best option at 4 is Topic. The injury concerns me, but the Spurs can afford to ease him into things like they did Victor. And I trust the Spurs have better medical staff than he currently has. I would take Topic and at 8 take a wing, my preference right now being Holland or Tidjane Salaun.

Devin carter doesn't have great handles and im not sold on his playmaking ability either which is troubling for a 6'2 guard. SA needs a pass first, floor general type of PG.

  • @Pjaeck35
    @Pjaeck35 2 місяці тому

I think someone will trade into 5-7 for a pg if castle is still available. I hope we don't try to get cute with the picks and just draft who we want the most at 4 (regardless of if we think they will be available or not at 8) and get who is available still at 8

No change bronie gona opp out from this draft, because this weak draft compare to 25' draft. if he still on 24' draft team on late 1rd or early second round gona give change on bronie.
