- As the buzz around the live-action remake of Disney's The Little Mermaid is increasing, I thought it would be fun to revisit "Part Of Your World" as it had been performed originally by the animated Ariel's voice, Jodi Benson, and how she has continually performed the iconic ballad over the years.
Originally recorded in 1989, Jodi has performed the song live on several occasions, be it comic cons, hotel openings, or film premiers among others. This video only showcases a few of those performances which I was able to find online.
So, does the voice of Ariel still possess a voice that a prince would fall in love with? Let me know in the comments section below!

When she sings "Part of that World" you can tell even though her voice was starting to show signs of aging she soldiered through. That's why I love Jodi Benson so much.
Jodi Benson's voice is absolutely beautiful. She really gets into it, it's almost like she becomes Ariel while singing.
Jodi just doesn’t age. Her voice may be older but it doesn’t show.
Jodi Benson is a real Disney Princess on and off screen. She's beautiful, kind, classy and brings so much passion into her singing. She's a childhood icon forever.
What a sweet and simple video. I love Jodi so much. While I think her voice has gotten noticeably more nasally over the years, she is still recognizable, fairly consistent, and has not lost any power now at 62 (I think? Maybe 61?)
Her voice matured a little but never lost the range or clarity. Her voice is so beautiful.

After all these years she still sounds wonderful. I am shocked how much her voice changed from 2009 to 1997.
Thank you! I think her voice got slightly older but it didn't change like, shockingly, it's a natural and expected kind of change. She can still sing the song in the original key (something Idina Menzel can't do with either let it go or into the unknown even within the first two years of the songs' respective released lol)....so I think Jodi preserved her voice well.
It's OVERALL still the SAME. It what happens as you get older.....it's called AGE

Such a great idea for a video, and you edited it wonderfully. I love how you managed to put it all together :) Though I wish you included the video where she records this song in the studio. Her vocals were wonderful there!
Thank you! I really considered putting the 1989 clip in as well, but the arrangement just seemed perfect as is, so I had to let it be with a heavy heart while I was editing the video. It's a beautiful performance though, no denial in that. ❤️

Oh, the 1990 performance is from the Texas State Aquarium Members Grand Opening. If you search that term most likely you'd find it.

I love this! and I agree with @Disney Queen, you edited this video wonderfully! My favorite disney princess is Belle, but the voice of Belle can't really sing without auto tune, no hate, but that's my opinion, and Ariel is my second favorite, the voice for her sounds wonderful with and wothout auto tune! And wow, she really doesn't age voice wise, she sounds the same even in 2022!

Wrong Halle lol. It's Bailey, not Berry. A lot of people did get these two names confused in the beginning when Bailey's casting was announced, so much so that Berry had to clear up the confusion by tweeting that it wasn't her but she was flattered by people thinking it was her. She also quote-tweeted Bailey's tweet announcing the casting, commenting with "Us Halle's get it done".
