The birth of 2 guys 1 controller (Contra III)

While Mr. K and I were practicing regular 2-player co-op, Tompa came up with the idea that we should control one half of one controller and one half of the other. We disregarded this as "nonsense" and instead tried this. Mr. K controls the d-pad and L, while I control the buttons and R.
This was done at Awesome Games Done Quick 2012, a charity event where about 80 people from Speed Demos Archive (www.speeddemosarchive.com) got together for a speed run marathon spanning over 128 hours. During this time, donors viewing the event online helped us raise over $149.000 for the Prevent Cancer Foundation.
