- I am opening three Fleer packs in search for the Jordan Rookie. I bought these for almost $1,000 total last year during the pandemic. Crazy to think that is considered a steal since the prices have skyrocketed! Let's see what's inside!

Yes, as mentioned in other comments, packs were searched, buuut Barkley, Worthy, and Wilkins RCs! Also, Magic base and Sticker. That’s awesome!!
Agreed, I was really excited about those pulls as well! Thanks for the feedback!
I couldn't trust anyone selling old packs. They're too easy to open then re-glue with lesser cards.
wow, the handling of these cards makes me cringe.........
Yup. And cut ur nails man. Wow.
@@itguy8900noticed this as well
This dude must make a ton of money with the way their handled. My OCD is kicking in
The way he was handling that Barkley rookie and those magic cards. SMH
Wash your hands bro but luckily there was no MJ. Nerve recking the way you handle these cards.
Nice Barkley & Worthy rookies. That last pack was hella shady.
Holy shit a pack opening video under 10 minutes 🙌🙌🙌👍🥳
That last pack you opened was repacked & resealed who ever sold you that pack reglued & placed a new gum in the pack. If you ever going to buy one of these packs again make sure you buy a graded one.
Yeah those were def opened and searched. That set is seeded meaning when you pulled that Barkley (#7 in the set) the next card should’ve been 66 cards away which would’ve been #73 Kevin mchale. Then the next would’ve been #6 then #72 and so on. The only way it would change from that pattern is if it would’ve gotten re-seeded meaning it ran out of cards to put in packs and would’ve started a new round of seeding but once you have a re-start (or whatever you wanna call it) it would’ve went every 66 cards from the new spot. Def was a repack sry that sucks for sure wax packs def suck ass when it comes to buying them loose, but at least the card community is well versed on this set and can easily point out repacks. They do a similar thing with magic the gathering cards (a little more sophisticated they usually run 5 lines of cards that way they get mixed properly which sometimes doesn’t happen and then you get hot boxes that are just loaded to the brim with the chase cards they’re rare but I’ve seen them)
yep, these were frankenstein packs. As we saw with the box break at the National, the sequencing in these is all wrong.
Lol yeah when you start hearing all the last names in order you know something is up. Was the box at national certified by BBCE? You saw the Pokémon case fiasco he caused right? Where the boxes were stuffed with GI Joe packs?
Wait so if a pack is showing let’s say for example a Wilkins sticker on the back is there a way to tell what you have in the pack? Or is it really only the back card you can tell?
that last pack was deffinitely sus. But the magic johnson pulls on the second were KEY! Those two cards are HOT right now. Worthy, Wilkins, Parrish and a few other good pulls too!
Having opened '86 Basketball, there was a sequence. Every other card was in order. Therefore, the pack with Magic SHOULD'VE produced a Jordan 2 cards later. Notice how many guys named Johnson were in the 1st pack every other card.
But congrats on the Barkley & Worthy rookie cards.
Interesting!
Watching this guy put a huge thumb of non removable oil on the front of each card, well, it’s solid handling for sure
Oh no he didn’t wear gloves wahhhh…you know who didn’t wear gloves and put fingers on cards? Everyone ever the whole history of collecting cards…until recently…Somehow thousands and thousands and thousands of cards have graded out 9 or better during that time 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I have sent in cards that get 9 and 10's I handle them like this to. gotta just clean em up before sending
The second pack was the only one that seemed like it opened the way it should. First pack looked like glue was used to reseal. Third pack was maybe resealed using heat? I'm not an expert, so just guessing based on experience. You can probably find somewhere online what the collation was back then in those Fleer packs to see if any of your packs had the correct sequence of cards.
I appreciate your take on this! Great idea, thank you!
I wondered about something…the two best cards you got were on the front of the packs, Barkley and Magic. Since these were resealed, I’m wondering if that was a strategy…”look you can see (Barkley/Magic) through the wax! Buy with confidence!”
I used to think that guys would go through boxes until they took out all the valuable cards, then put the leftover packs on sale....guess I was right?
LoL I'm wondering how a box searcher has left over packs,
and still feel sure that he removed all the top cards. Or did I read that wrong. 🤣
The last pack was definitely resealed
If I had geniune unopened packs of 1986 fleer, I would personally leave them unopened, because if there is a Jordan RC inside, you have it (unknowingly), if not the chance of it is still there, the packs and the rookie cards will only increase in value over time, and the more time that passes only decreases the amount of packs left unopened, making them even scarcer. Thus the novelty of opening a pack in 10-20 years of an 1986 fleer will be worth a fortune....patient is the key to investing and like a valuable old wine, it's better to let it age some more to give it more value.
i would wear gloves if I am trying to pull one of these jordan rcs. Not an expert on this but chances are all three of them could be resealed. I would look into more trust worthy sellers if possible. Good luck hope you pull one bro. Thanks for spending so much bread and showing it to us for entertainment brother. Ima sub outta respect for your pockets.

I actually used to work in museums handling artwork and usually, especially with works on paper, we preferred a well-washed hand to a glove because gloves can catch on the corners. Just FYI!
@@weakglovehand82 I always just wear gloves to avoid finger prints on the cards but some times it does catch the corner. Not sure which one I'd prefer. But with thicker cards I'm not too worried about the corners. Thanks!
I haven't touched a corner in 30 years
3rd pack was definitely resealed and that gum was the giveaway plus it looked like someone tried to reseal and heated the wax to much causing it to stick the way it did
My thoughts exactly. Gum doesn’t even match.
Boy do I remember this set. Was never a Jordan fan. Always liked Bird and the Celtics. Had 1 complete set and a three quarter set of that year, but they were stolen decades ago. would love to be able to afford getting Bird and my Celtics back.
Those Boston cards aren’t that expensive.
@@mjohnston8313 they kind of are for me. I have 3 special needs sons, so I rarely have extra cash to buy cards. Been having to sell some of mine off for their stuff they need.
Those packs are notorious for being opened and closed again to look factory sealed
You got packs that were already looked at. You can tell by when you opened them up, at least the first pack. You can tell by looking when you open a pack if it was searched, and the first pack was definitely searched. Oh, 3rd pack as well! I hadn't watched you on the 3rd pack yet.. but that is definitely one that was also checked before you opened it.
Idk but the stick of gum seem pretty fresh also
The packs were resealed but you more than made your money back on them.. the Barkley alone is worth what you paid for the packs or close to it
I agree was searched and repackaged ..u had no white gap under the basketball word on the front wrapper is a dead giveaway
Sorry dude...I was pulling for you
Back in the middle 1990s, I was at a show in Nashville, Tennessee. At one table, two guys were playing "pack poker". If you're not familiar with this, two or more people buy identical packs of cards and decide on a statistics- tallest player, most points, longest career, etc. They they open the packs and whoever wins the statistical comparison wins the content of both packs. These guys were opening 86-87 Fleer BKB packs- about $200 each then. I asked for one of the wrappers- that was waaaay out of my league.
Okay...what are the odds on pulling a Jordan? One in 11 packs or about 9%. Each pack has 12 cards, the set has 132 cards.
Finally, back in 1986, these cards sold really badly. I mean REALLY badly. Walmart bought up most of the product dealers returned unsold to Fleer and clearanced the packs out at....fifteen cents each. A whole 36 count box was $5.40.
They were already opened and glued back
4:01. Careful holding that Johnson unprotected
They might be resealed.
The last pack was resealed. Did you notice it didn't have the "flip" in the cards when you went through them?
As a kid I opened a lot of packs back in that era and all three of those look like they have been opened and resealed. Why? Because they are too loose. I don't remember packs being that loose. They were much tighter around the cards. I could be wrong, but my hunch is those packs were already opened.
Untampered packs have a certain sequence between alternate cards. Unfortunately these were searched but got a Worthy & Barkley RC
would you mind elaborating? what are the details of the sequence?
Not bad, you pulled a Charles Barkley, Magic & sticker, James Worthy, Dominic Wilkins sticker.
Ouch, 100% certainty that all 3 were resealed. I hope you contacted where you bought them and tried getting your money back
Magic's, Worthy, Dominic, Barkley, (last pack was sus), however u came out ight 💯
The 3rd pack is the only one I think was ever searched, first one had Barkley; nice. I wonder what percentage of MJ stockers are still in packs as those are the easiest to tell. Only a sealed case with BCE certification has any credibility unless 1/11 has an MJ sticker; that would mean nobody even looked at the back of the packs. If you can get packs for maybe $400 a pack and they're unsearched then you have good value w/1 in 11 having a Jordan sticker worth at least $600 and 1 in 12 having a Jordan rc worth at least 3000; I assume nothing grades over 6 because just centering alone does that. I sold a Nolan RC in mint condition but centering brought it down to just a 5. The problem is a pack or a box is priced assuming that every Jordan RC you find is $30k+ and we all know it doesn't work that way. boxes have sold for $250k and they'd need a gem mint to make money on that. I only tried pack searching once, looking for a 4000k club card; wasted $55 and wound up buying 4 for about $200 each. Hoping for 9's and 10's on the card now that all but 1 are 4x signed.
You can tell by the white corners on the wax pack that they’ve been opened and resealed. You basically just gave your $$$ away….
Last pack did not open like second.Loud crackling peel(adhesive)vs smoothe n waxy. You bought a pack searched lot.
That first pack had decent centering and you got some hits…a lot of sleeper cards to complete sets ppl don’t thinkabou
Once you said how much you paid i knew they were fake but still showed support and watched it all the way to the brand new stick of gum in pack 3 🙈🙈🙈🙈
Thank you for the support! I bought these last year at the beginning of the pandemic and was pretty bummed about that third pack. I wonder if it's even possible to find an authentic, un-searched, and untampered pack these days.
The rappers are different too if you look at it two of them are lighter than the middle one the middle one has a brighter color
Way to go for it! You can't win them all.
How are we suppose to know the packs weren’t re-wrapped?
Last pack is a repack for sure different gum all cards same direction and wrapper stuck to the card wtf
My brother went "One Pack Wonder" on these cards and pulled The Michael Jurdan Rookie!!!
the barkley is $300 minimum raw. so a 3rd of what you paid. should of sleeved it right away
1st pack was opened. The gum is to new and the pack open like a reseal. the second pack looks good opening. 3rd from outside look opened.
Good Video !
Only buy graded packs if you’re gonna open them.
Bill laimbeer and Robert Parrish was good and the magic Johnson card and sticker great first time video keep them rolling
That's why you get it from authorized dealers not some bum on eBay 😂
With how cheap these were there was no way he was getting a jordan. To easy to open these packs cherry pick them & reseal. Right now a PSA graded pack or one authenticated by baseball card exchange or another reputable company is gonna run you like 3K. Even more during the pandemic. If he paid 1K for these 3 packs he did ok. But I guarantee that if any of these packs did contain an MJ, they wouldn't by the time he opened them. Not s that price. The odds of hitting an MJ is roughly 1 in 11 packs....
nice way to handle the cards. We will just move them around and scratch the surfaces.
last pack I'm sure was resealed/tampered with. different gum, looks more fresh and wax pack was harder to open and looked odd. I woulda bought the packs from a reputable dealer.
Sometimes it just easier buying the card
The handling of these packs was horrendous.Clearly you didn't send any of them for grading
I never understood why every 80's pack opening has a multitude of people saying "these packs were searched". Once it has been established by one person it does not need to be stated 100x more.
These packs were searched
Packs were definitely searched and resealed. The thicker piece of gum might have came from the orginal 86 fleer pack bit sequence of the cards were was way off. At least you didn't pay thousands
Thanks for your feedback! I was thinking the same. I bought these last year during the beginning of the pandemic. I thought it was expensive then. It's crazy how the prices have skyrocketed. I think I'm better off saving and purchasing a Jordan rookie rather than trying to find one.
@@JimsClassicCards I would suggest buying a graded one, they are almost always altered raw
Bro. Ur man holding those cards!!!!
Bro, those were definitely looked through before... smh thats why they tore when you opened each pack, they over heated the seals
one had been open and reclued
The gum should be next to the sticker. You got repacks.
DUDE, LEARN HOW TO HANDLE YOUR CARDS. You man handle them too much. The slightest ding could cost you thousands!!!😳😳😳
Yeah that was tough watching
always cringe to see people handle them like they are playing cards :p
Gold or Silver would better money spent than cardboard
Would've been funny if these were searched and instead of the original gum they replaced it with a spearmint gum, lol.
Most of the ones for sale are re packed and sealed again after the Jordan cards are gone.
Definitely searched packs before you. Easiest way to tell is by the packs not easily coming open. Scammers will reseal packs.
Last pack was tampered with
$700 bucks ..never buy single packs at those prices ..99% will be repackaged and already searched
The gum looked different??? .....Wow...they took the Jordan out of the last pack...
All fake unfortunately. You can tell by the cards and the gum 100%. Sorry bro!
I believe some were resealed as well. I appreciate your input! Thanks bro 🥲
Vintage packs nice hits, though I dont remember some of the players. New supporter here 😁
You should be using white gloves. You don’t want the oil on your hands to get on any good cards.
two of Dennis Johnson
2 of those packs were resealed
just saw your video. You definitely got ripped.
You should have kept the 2 packs together. And the single pack by itself instead of shuffling them up. The Barkley RC was nice
Only Topps baseball cards were sold in my town back then. Basketball and football cards were non-existent.
Just a word of advice: never buy ungraded packs like yours, more likely than not searched and resealed
Thanks for the advice!
That last pack... the gum even looked different. :-(
def resealed packs
Third pack was DEFINITELY repacked. There was no flip halfway through the pack. All cards were in the same direction.
The last pack was searched. The pack was glued. The last gum was new. You need to handle cards with. You can dam them then they will lose value.
If you're serious enough to spend that kind of cash then get some gloves and dont touch them with your hands is my advice. Card condition could be effected and that means less $$
I actually used to work in some of the top art museums in the country handling artwork and usually, especially with works on paper, we preferred a well-washed hand to a glove because gloves can catch on the corners. Just FYI!
Been handling cards for more than 30 years. Gotten literally hundreds of GM10 grades on cards I handled with my bare hands. No way just touching the cards will harm them. But with gloves you lose the "feel" for the card and can easily snag an edge or corner. My advice is wash your hands and completely dry them and DO NOT wear gloves when handling cards.
This world is full of hype beast 400 dollars for a 2 dollar pack of cards FOH!
.45 price was on one of the packs
That 3rd pack is weird, the gum especially, I would think the same year would all have the same looking gum.
Right? I agree!
Usually if the gun was that bright the seal wouldn’t be hardened down like that it was probably resealed the gun also looks bigger than the rest
The odds of hitting a Jordan out of 3 packs today. 0%%%
So common for these scammers to put PSA 6 rookies in the pack to give the illusion it’s real and not searched.
Last pack had been resealed
Yeah collation was way off you got taken
Thank you for your feedback! I believe some of the packs were definitely resealed as well.
Still got MJ
3rd pack there was no flip like the other 2. Definitely resealed
Wow dude said he didn’t pull anything shows don’t know much about basketball smh dudes like this who only search for Jordan are so cringe to watch. He legit pulled a rookie Barkley then also pulled a George Gervin, Magic Johnson, Worthy and Wilkins.
Pulled all those greats that could still sell for a good decent price. And then he handles the cards the way he does. Smh 🤦♂️ man that was hard to watch.
Those have been resealed
Good luck!!! MJ’s rookie year was 1984.
Yeah but his rookie card was 86
@@Phoenixsuns1968 Naw, G. I collected cards as a kid. All my MJ rookie cards was from 84.
Why don’t you have gloves on? This makes me think these packs are fake.
Just curious....why didn't you just buy a Jordan RC with the money you spent on the packs?
Where u buying one for 1k? I'll buy one...
@@pickzkickz guy in the alleyway
Dang. That sucks. Wish you the best, next time.
5:23 means it was resealed. You got scammed.
Bust-o, so sorry man. Personally, I would trust no one when it comes to vintage wax packs. Make s’more sense to buy graded, or raw star cards. In the long run, it will make more sense (monetarily speaking).
They were resealed never upside down cards and its supposed to be wax seal not glue
Last pack was definitely searched and resealed
You threw that Barkley down like it’s not worth anything
Cool but you have to be more careful handling cards
