As said by the great TVG, MDR sang with love and absolute conviction. His music was simple yet beautiful. His deep voice was so resonant even hearing his Sa was enough to satisfy. I’ve had the great pleasure of learning from Sri KJ Yesudas and he would always tell me, “MDR is the greatest Carnatic musician ever.” Rs. 500 a month for his job? 😳
