2024 WMSTR Ortner Test Run

This is a short scene from during the first day of the 2024 Western Minnesota Steam Thresher's Reunion at the Ortner Railroad area. We had been having some derailing issues with the passenger cars so some work was done and then the train was taken around the track without passengers to be sure everything went smoothly, which it did. This video is a couple of sections, the new village and then past a couple of new rolling stock including a quite fancy passenger car. The locomotive is a Wagner 14 inch gauge locomotive which originally was used near Niagara Falls, NY.

Looks like a neat set up. Derailing caused by gravel on tracks, or tracks being moved slightly?

It is pretty neat. Actually it was because of a passenger shifting sides of their seat with their child very quickly and erratically on a curve. Rocked the car enough that it rode up on the rail. We did the test run to be sure that nothing else had occurred.
