Always a pleasure to see a post from you, Archy! Thanx so much for sharing this little gem . Great to see Johnny again. And Buddy is such a treasure. I remember watching this show with my mama and daddy. We all laughed 'til our sides ached, with tears rolling down our cheeks. After that, if any of us had a headache, we'd hold our head, and go 'Whaaaaaaawh!', and everyone would crack up. RIP Buddy and Johnny, and thanx so so very much for the magic, music, and memories.
What an interesting, funny man. He grew up during the depression and was part of the greatest generation. He worked his ass off. It was interesting about what he said about not being friends with a boxer. You can tell he generally cared about and valued his friendship with Rocky.
The difference between a true comedian and a stand-up comedian. Too many of the younger comedians don't set up for a story, domthe story, then bring back around to the start with the audience having no idea that it would end with a premise of the opening joke. Buddy was one of the best!!!
