Its this organ part after the guitar solo which is the final touch of excellence. Almighty Richard stopped playing this interlude couple of shows later, never to be heard of again literally
I saw this on TV way back then, 1971 I think. It made a big impression on my 15 year old mind. This is the first time seeing it since that evening watching it at my Grandma's house. She didn't watch it but was listening to it from the kitchen. She said she liked it.
I will Never understand why he stopped playing this organ interlude during this song at 13:42 tho. Rick only played it like this the first half of 1970. After that he changed it and it became a bit duller. This organ sound is AMAZING.
@@marttram2183 its because it is its a bunch of different people on the live mix, its why this is so special cos rick and dave are deadass music aliens that were meant to sing like that
Watching and hearing Rick and David singing so sweetly in this version somehow makes me emotional. Kind of want to cry but can’t.. too mesmerized. I love this band and this version of this iconic song is everything to me. 💚
And it is so astonishing how David's and Rick's voices are so compatible and harmonically "together" when they sing. What is so cool is the fact that Rick's voice is about a half of an octave higher than David's, just listen, you'll hear it.
This video I first saw in 1971. I heard Pink Floyd records before but, they had bands backing them up.After hearing and seeing just them perform these remarkable pieces of music, I fell in love with Pink Floyd! My mother watched this video with me and she loved them too!
I had no idea this existed and I'm absolutely thrilled! I've been listening to the original and the demo of the original obsessively for the past 2 weeks and then just now stumbled across this one. It will be on repeat for a while now.
I remember back in 1971, I saw in TV Guide that Pink Floyd had an hour long show one night. My mom let me watch it and even she was amazed at what these four men could with their instruments. I have listened and followed Pink Floyd ever since. I wish at their last concert I saw ( I have seen every concert in Florida performed by PF) in a baseball park in North Miami that they could have done Atom Heart Mother but, I was told they didn't have the recording of the DC-3 taking off. That was a shame. Especially now that Rick Wright is past away. God rest his soul "or" have him jam with other greats that have died, like Jimmy Hendrix, etc, etc. To all the other Rock &Roll artists out there, ROCK ON!
@Phil BELLAND "Sunny side up" is a beautiful composition.... It just doesn't feel right. not sharing with others a little food for the soul.. So go check Scott Simpson. the song is Spearfish canyon. ✌
The thing that’s so cool about this piece is that in the last 10 -15 minutes or so, their origins as a blues band really come out - Rick’s keyboard is mesmerizing - love the whole thing so much - and Rick & Dave’s voices together are so hypnotic.
I am a bass player and I will defend Roger's bass playing until I'm blue in the face. The guy gets so much flak from people for not having super chops or whatever but he has it where it counts, and Nick likes playing with him so that should be a clue also. And as talented as Guy Pratt is, Roger's style is better suited to the Floyd in my opinion.
@@RCAvhstape completely agreed. Pink Floyd without Waters is another band, is another vibe. The real Pink Floyd ended with the brilliant The Final Cut, a masterpiece.
