Dear Olivier, would it be possible for you to make a video on the best ways to stretch the "erector spinae-muscles", one side at a time (left-right)? I have searched in vain for good material on these, but the few stretches I find are generally very imprecise (such as putting your hands on your head and pressing down), or they stretch both sides at the same time, making them pretty useless if you need to stretch one side more than the other. Thank you, and kind regards from Lund

Hi Olivier, I hope you are well. Do you have any opinion on the Herman Miller Cosm chair? The concept sounds very intruiging and the chair looks super nice - but I would be highly interested into what you think about this concept of a chair from a posture perspective. Thanks so much in advance and grettings from Austria!

Hey mate!! I'll be very honest: I never sat on this chair. My first impression is: yes, it looks nice... but it looks like it's built by a designer. The armrests seem to be not adjustable, which is a scandal for that price. I would need to test the seat depth, but it seems excessive for average people. Furthermore, the general impression that this chair gives me is that it will drive you rather backward than forward (again, this is just an impression of someone who never sat on it). In other words, I wouldn't buy it before a serious test phase...

Hi Olivier. I recently saw some arm rests that clip onto the desk instead of the chair. Would this be ok in the case where the chair is slightly too short for the desk or would it cause shoulder issues?

Hey! Armrests are yet another big issue, which I discuss here: ua-cam.com/video/uZqVPBeOhzA/v-deo.html. If have used armrests on the desk (ErgoRest) for some very specific activities, such as repetitive pipetting in a lab environment. Or for watchmaking workstations (ua-cam.com/video/SS9KNjHsmOI/v-deo.html). But all those are precise activities that require very little forearm movement. For computer work, my experience with patients is that they complain about difficulties "finding" the armrests as soon as they get off them.

Hope you don't mind a comment that is unrelated. I've been working on fixing Forward head posture as well as general sitting posture to resolve TMJ and neck pain. When I get into the appropriate sitting position as described by you in your videos I feel a tightness build in the center of my sternum. it feels like gravity is wanting to pull me back into that slumped position. How would you approach this? Thanks for all the resources you provide.

Hello dear!! Forward head posture is a very complex topic. It is actually the main reason why I developed the Posture Academy, Module 1: oliviergirard.ch/en/posture-academy-online-program/. The free alternative is here, but it is less progressive and less guided... although many people have gone much better by following this protocol: ua-cam.com/video/9a5wkLnd54I/v-deo.html

Hi Oliver. Just wanted to ask what orthopedic chair would you recommend for bigs guys? I've had a steelcase leap v2 and a HM mirra. Both have given me scitatica pain. I need a chair that will allow me to stay upright for gaming. So one preferablly with the forward tilt option.

One of the best stools I know would be the Malmstolen T4000... super comfortable. But not sure you'll find it where you live! However, esp with sciatic pain I would consider both the chair and the schedule: do you get out of your chair every 30 min? Otherwise, the piriformis muscle is a good candidate to trigger the type of pain that you feel...ua-cam.com/video/PHXmQ8Pt0Nc/v-deo.html
