I don't know if it's just his deminor but I feel so much sadness for him. The way he is so soft, he seems fragile and to think of what he was put through, it's heartbreaking. And also I don't think he was ever gay but his sexual abuse experience from a young age...sex with male was what he was taught and knew.

I see a young man who is searching for belonging, and is grasping at something external of himself to create a security blanket. I've heard a lot of stories of pastors who secretly still hook up with men while married to women. I have even seen it, there's nothing wrong with his attraction but unfortunately the people in the gay world he met were toxic. These pastors try to look heterosexual in the public eye but behind closed doors are doing the opposite. I'm worried about him repressing his feelings if he is truly homosexual and marrying a woman only to secretly still crave a man. It is not fair on both parties. This is a man who wants to feel safe and is looking to religion with the hope it might repress the feelings of same sex attraction.
God delivered him, that's all that matters. Fortunately, he knew and still knows that this "attraction" to the same sex is not natural, nor is it God's doing or His will. He is obeying God Almighty and not his flesh, or the world that tells him that it's okay to live a homosexual lifestyle. The world will lead him straight to hell with that mindset, so I thank God that he has come through for him. As for these "pastors" you're referring to, it's no surprise because Jesus warned us of false prophets. Not everyone who calls themselves one is legit, but it doesn't mean every single one of them is that way.

I see a young man who is searching for belonging, and is grasping at something external of himself to create a security blanket.
I've heard a lot of stories of pastors who secretly still hook up with men while married to women. I have even seen it, there's nothing wrong with his attraction but unfortunately the people in the gay world he met were toxic.
These pastors try to look heterosexual in the public eye but behind closed doors are doing the opposite. I'm worried about him repressing his feelings if he is truly homosexual and marrying a woman only to secretly still crave a man. It is not fair on both parties.
This is a man who wants to feel safe and is looking to religion with the hope it might repress the feelings of same sex attraction.
God delivered him, that's all that matters. Fortunately, he knew and still knows that this "attraction" to the same sex is not natural, nor is it God's doing or His will. He is obeying God Almighty and not his flesh, or the world that tells him that it's okay to live a homosexual lifestyle. The world will lead him straight to hell with that mindset, so I thank God that he has come through for him.
As for these "pastors" you're referring to, it's no surprise because Jesus warned us of false prophets. Not everyone who calls themselves one is legit, but it doesn't mean every single one of them is that way.

Honestly, "I 'quit' being gay" paired with this story, doesn't give a story of a man that isn't queer anymore, just one who's been harmed into even more shame. Mans said he came from a broken home and the only other elder that showed him the love of a parent refused to accept his sexuality.

Bongani may continue his promiscuous behavior while also dating women, illustrating a complex journey towards self-understanding. In the end, Bongani's transformation into a "born-again" individual who no longer engages in promiscuity with men, but rather with women, adds another layer to his evolving story.
