UA-cam comments are at present disabled in our channel, to the displeasure of some. However, each video has a prominent link to the associated open thread that appears on our blog. In the past we've tried opening up the channel to comments, but we found that a very high number of episodes wound up being flooded with a combination of spam, long winded apologists, and various obscene or misogynistic comments directed at various hosts by people with an axe to grind. This seems to be the nature of UA-cam comment sections, in our experience.
We do moderate the blog, the same way that we moderate chat during the show, as well as comments on our Facebook group. For comment sections that are "officially" associated with our show (and, to a much lesser extent, channels that may give the unintended appearance of being official), we prefer not to play host to straight up ad hominem attacks and bigotry. As a general policy we do not block commenters simply on the basis of disagreement with our point of view. However, we do prefer discussion environments that don't actively chase off more reasonable contributors.

WHAT IS THE ATHEIST EXPERIENCE?
The Atheist Experience is a weekly call-in television show in Austin, Texas geared at a non-atheist audience. The Atheist Experience is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin.
The Atheist Community of Austin is organized as a nonprofit educational corporation to develop and support the atheist community, to provide opportunities for socializing and friendship, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage positive atheist culture, to defend the first amendment principle of state-church separation, to oppose discrimination against atheists and to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals.

Billy is a blatant example of the Dunning-Kruger Effect on every single call.
Billy’s coked-up anger always gives me so much joy.

Billy's logic.
"I know vastly more than you do" says the guy who spent 15 minutes asserting we can't know anything that happened before our lifetime essentially because we can't corroborate with 100% certainty that those things happened...
Come up from the basement, Billy. Your pizza bagels are ready.
Man. Phil's explanation was so cool and smooth and this Billy guy still failed to comprehend it. Beating a dead horse...
Same dude who didn't understand the argument from popularity. Now it's the argument from stupidity.
Billy and callers like him are the type that drive me up a wall, the living imbodiment of dunning-krugger.
He obviously thinks he has a good point and nobody can shift his position.
To summarize Billy's point: Meth! Methmeth! Meth! Meth! METH!!!
The real tragedy here is that Billy got off this phone call thinking he won and that he's right
Is this the same Billy that called into Talk Heathen saying, "I have a flawless syllogism", but when he was debunked said "I'm twice as old as you, kiddos"
There is a difference in disbelieving the supernatural claims in a book, and disbelieving the supernatural claims in a book, but accepting that the people who wrote the book believed in the supernatural things they were writing.
"if some are unreliable, the all are unreliable". that's fallacy of composition. that's like saying "if some number are even numbers, then all numbers are even numbers"
THIS is a primary example of a pointless argument.
"People used to believe" does not mean all people, nor does it mean no one does anymore.
Now that I’ve noticed Billy on a few shows I’m starting to think he’s on some Andy Kaufman level of performance art
