      I used to have only 35mm for everything. I was missing something wider and something narrower. Then I sold 35mm, got this 20mm (partially because of this review) and Loxia 50mm. That was the best decision I could make. The 20mm is great for me when doing environmental portraits and landscapes. Haven't use it for close p photo yet though. It is very high quality lens and if it lasts, I will have it for a lifetime.

    Hello from Kyiv Ukraine. I noticed the price you are showing on UK Digital. I use E-infinity for all my Sony bodies , lenses and third party lenses and they are always so much cheaper than everyone else. I paid £759 on E-infinity. I have used them for 3 years and have been very pleased with the service. I visit UK often to see relatives and I take the opportunity to order gear from there and take it home. I have 4 Sony bodies A9 A7RIII and 2 A7IIIs and a lot of F1.4 and 1.8 lenses that I bought from there. You should look them up and compare. Nice video with good examples. You have an accent. I think Polish. This would make you a neighbour and fellow Slav.

    FYI, the lens doesn't have focal distance markers because its not mechanical focus, its focus by wire. The position of the dial will always be relative.

    This lens is a whole ton of fun. Zero regrets here. Re angling up or down. I had the same thing. I was shooting the International Space Station flying over. The bottom third of photo was houses and a park. At the edges, the houses were pretty bowed when the camera was tiling up but zero issues when it is level.

    • @techdingus4473
      @techdingus4473 4 роки тому

      The a6600 is an aps-c sensor, so 1.5x crop over full frame. The sigma 16mm will look like 24mm on the a6600, this 20mm lens will look like 30mm. The sigma is also f1.4 which will make a difference in low light performance and bokeh. At $400, since you're not using a full frame camera, the sigma makes more sense.

    You can't put distance marker for manual focus on a lens that has a 'focus by wire' focusing ring. For distance markers you'd need a focus ring that has hard stops and a mechanical ring!
