Yep. Clifford's puppy days gets a pass because it's pretty good too, but 2000s clifford was the classic "Clifford" look if you read the original children's illustrated books, you'll notice it's _also_ the series that most closely emulates the way the characters were supposed to be drawn.
Who would have guess they would make a real life Clifford the Big Red Dog movie. It was my childhood animation series. I grew up watch the one that was released in 2000(the year that I born in).
You know, I found this very informative. I always thought Cilfford's been on PBS Kids since 2000 and 2003. I never knew it's been around since the late 1980s. But I also never knew they made an animated movie about him either. Well my favorite version will always be the 2000s, since I grew up watching that the most.
Clifford, and clifford's puppy days (which aired at roughly the same time) were the highlight of the franchise. The 80's clifford specials didn't age well and aren't that funny, and the modernized clifford can't even hold a candle. The general rule of thumb is the less characters that have sclera (the white in your eyes) the better the production is.
2000s clifford had such great secondary characters....Charlie, Jetta, Mr. Bleakman, the Sheriff, KC with only 3 legs, and Mac were just a few there was so much you could do in an episode, they had running gags such as clifford accidentally stepping on the fire hydrant and references to earlier events. They wrote the show like they were writing for a mixed audience, so younger kids could still laugh while older siblings that were smart could pick up on some of the more subtle jokes.
If we're being honest, everybody knows that Clifford was the best one, with clifford's puppy days being a fun successor. The movie was....passable. I didn't think they did it justice, but it still included most of the main cast so I'll let it slide. I have to, since it was produced with a budget of just $70,000, which is incredible looking at the final product. *Everything both before and after* the 2000-2008 clifford era is trash. You might have some nostalgia for that '88 clifford, but we all know they didn't have it figured out until 2000 clifford.
WoW!!!! I loved Clifford in the early 2000s when my kids were younger But Clifford was only in the 📚 books back in the 70s & 80s when I was growing up, hmmm! Times sure has changed ❤️
they didn't quite have the characterization figured out yet in the '88 version, 2000's clifford is where they knew how to write good characters, have funny and emotional storylines, and still include some educational aspects. '80s clifford is a bit *too* educational where it can't hold your attention, and this modern clifford is very sterile and lifeless.

I can’t wait for the movie to release..
Ok I know it’s a reboot but last I checked in the 2000 year even though Clifford could talk to t bone and Cleo whenever he talked to Emily all she heard was barking so how in the reboot could Emily understand what Clifford was saying did a sudden crossover of littlest pet shop and Clifford the big red dog be made or what ?
I was wondering that too. Emily can hear Clifford talk.
@@okjeffy6581 ikr but the question is how cause I remember the first episode of littlest pet shop at first Blythe couldn’t understand pets but then when she bumped her head by crashing the dumbuater to the bottom floor all of a sudden she could understand pets also if the bet shop was the first floor and her room was the second floor it shouldn’t have taken that long of a trip to get to the first floor it looked like something you would see if you were going to the first floor from the third floor so did a sudden crossover with lps and Clifford happen that we didn’t know about?
i just remember 2000’s clifford i was a 4 years old kid
