40% of the people who drown never intended to enter the water. That is a stat we should be hearing more often in these weather warnings. Well done Aiden. Perhaps the Met Office could tweet it ?
@@andrewfulton3435 He's talking about people who get swept away by waves or lose their footing on riverbanks rather than people swimming and getting into trouble.

Something as simple as a tablet mirroring the monitor, on the table that they can see and use whilst only leaning over to point things out would be ideal.
I think the idea is that the slider, where it is, is easily visible to us, the audience, but also and quite importantly if you pay attention to how fine the control he has is, if you made that slider any shorter he would struggle to navigate to exactly the frame he wants to show us. Either way you work it, it inconveniences us, but one way it also inconveniences him.
I note your forecast at 2.26, 'Some significant snow is expected, above 2 - 300 metres'. Now that is extraordinarily deep snow, ice age levels, but you did say this is a very dangerous storm
Very many thanks indeed Aidan. Well, whatever folk do from here on is against your excellent advice!! You stay safe also Aida and all at the Met Office! TAKE GREAT CARE EVERYONE, ANY RISKS JUST AREN’T WORTH IT !!!!
Wales is definitely a weather magnet, in the future I'd be glad of that, well, unless Europe invades you for your water, us up in Scotland might be getting it too but hey ho.
You really need to move the date bar from the bottom to the side, so your presenter doesn't have his entire body covering the screen while the animation moves. I can't believe this even needs saying.
Hi Aidan. Can I make hopefully a 'constructive' comment. If you stand on the other side of the weather screen during your presentation you wouldn't have to keep leaning across the screen when you are pushing the screen control buttons so hiding the weather movements on the screen we are all trying to watching while you are providing the commentary.
For some crazy reason, UK weather presenters stand on the left and obscure the map (S4C weather forecast is a notable exception) Please stay on the right-hand side of the map. The UK weather systems usually move in from the West so you would hide them. If needs be, move the location of the screen controls.
Thanks Aidan. Important information delivered clearly and concisely. Do send a strong message of criticism to UA-cam, however, for having the audacity and greed to interrupt you with _three_ adverts. The Met Office is doing a public service in making these forecasts. UA-cam is showing its usual crass lack of ethics by intruding.

Can you move the video advance bar from the bottom of the screen to vertical on the right. When you interact with the bar, you block the view of the map.
I like this style of weather forecast... I subscribed even though I live in Brussels Belgium 🙂 What is leftover from you, arrives here soon after, so we don't complain as we know you guys took the brunt 😉
Has to be a one in 20 year event here in my area I don’t think I can ever remember experiencing a storm as bad. I had to go out and move some objects away from my car and it would only be a matter of when you got blown over if you’re dumb enough to stay outside. What was so bizarre about this storm was how quickly it went from being fairly calm to blowing a gale. It took about 10 minutes, surely that is unprecedented for the U.K.
Feedback for presentation. If standing on the right, then move the controls for playback to the right also rather than presenter standing in the middle of the screen. Alternatively move the main control panel to the left. In both cases just make the playback bar shorter. It doesn’t need to extend across the whole screen. The deep dives also suffer from this with presenters openly complaining about the settings!
Lots of useful information. But, Aidan, it would have been so much better if you'd stood on the other side of the display when swiping through timelines. I get it, you mostly wanted to show some snapshots, but the animations contain useful information too... if we can see it.
@@RoughWalkers On the meterological calendar it starts on the 1st of December. So no, they are not wrong. You are referencing the winter solstice which is based on the 21st within the Gregorian calendar. Do you mean astrological or astronomical?

Didn’t we used to have a thick black outline showing where the UK is? For the oldies 80 x 90mm of rain is about 3-4inches. Can we skip the rain in Wales, we’ve got enough here now thanks 🏴
