- Jamaican woman moved to Ghana from UK to build an amazing villa
Often a times when you speak to native Ghanaians born and raised in Ghana who's migrated to the west about moving to back Ghana, they make is seem there is no hope of succeeding back home. But through my journey of discovery, I've come across several Africans born abroad who's found their way back home and thriving;
In this video I speak to a wonderful Jamaican woman who left UK to Ghana over 20 years ago to build Villa Sankofa; a tranquil and relaxed atmosphere for travelers. You will be inspired...My Name is Mickey....Keep watching!!!

Strong Jamaican woman African to the

Another Jamaican royal, this one, a great woman who is impressive and inspiring. Thanks for showing what we can achieve with hard work and vision. 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
Mother Marva has done well for herself regardless of her obstacles. One love.💗
Ghana, please treat her well for her good works!
@ghanaian
Thank you for the great comment. I believe Ghanaians should show kindness and to protect all our people returning home to reclaim their heritage which was forcibly taken from them. Our government must also create a clear and easy path to citizenship for them . Just look at her contribution to the economy?
Trans Atlantic slave trade was arguably the most heinous crime committed against a race 👏🏾🙏🏽
We don’t discriminate in Ghana
I’m a Jamaican living in the UK for 64 years
According to my DNA I’m of Ghanaian descent
I would love to visit the land of my ancestors
Now that I’ve seen your video
I’ll be planning on doing so in the very near future and would love to stay with you Marva
You’re so inspiring and would love to meet you
👍🏽😊❤️
Please call the number on the screen when you are ready.
When I think about my Jamaican ancestors I can see there spirits rejoicing to see a Jamaican return to Africa 😢😢😢❤
Really!
I am watching you from USA and I am a Ghanaian. You have impressed me and I am proud of you. I just bought a land to build a house and move to Ghana. Remember don't feel like a Jamaican ,feel like Ghanaian because truly, Ghana is yours, you are really Ghanaian and the land belongs to you
God bless you for your kind words. May God guide your path 🙏🏾
Wow !!So Jamaicans of African ancestry should denounce Jamaica for the 'Back to Africa fad?
@@user-dx5mg9by9yshut it knob
@@user-dx5mg9by9yMany Jamaicans in their mind are Africans or Ghanaians living in Jamaica , some will visit Ghana then being Nationalist will return to Jamaica since the similarities are so great.
@@mavisburke495 Because they are living for their ancestors and not themselves. The black man's existence precedes slavery by 10thousand years ,yet we make our whole existence around one unfortunate experience."A butter fly can't go back to being a caterpillar".
I'm watching from the UK. Thank you for inspiring me 🙏🏼 . You are truly a Ghanaian and a Jamaican ❤❤❤❤
Thank you for Ms. Marva’s story. She is a powerful woman full of wisdom.
🌻🇭🇹🙏🏾❤️
I can see Jamaicans are finding it easier then others from the diaspora to assimilate into Ghana and build
Yes we are, because Ghana is no different from Jamaica, for me I will not find it difficult to live In Ghana, most of the issues others have like roads, lights cutting out etc, it's no different from Jamaica, expecially Jamaica country side
I guess Jamaica life styles fits inn when they comes ghana and also very low profile before investing
Because most Jamaicans can trace their ancestry back to Ghana. It is basically the same people.
@@jamrock2979 true 💯
To succeed in Ghana you will have to be OK with feeling uncomfortable sometimes and it seems Jamaicans are good at that.
If you are from the Caribbean it’s easier to fit in Ghana 🇬🇭
Maybe because of her age. I think so.
@@emmanuelansah3634 I think it’s more than just age … a lot of Caribbean people have succeeded in making it in west Africa…. West Africa isn’t much different for a lot of Caribbean people growing up…It’s nothing new…Jamaicans have a lot of Ghanaian 🇬🇭 and west African ways and mannerisms eg also Nigerian, Benin etc which is reflected in our way of living in Jamaica 🇯🇲 eg the simple life … the climate… etc etc… in the 60s a lot of Jamaicans went to live in Ghana 🇬🇭 my friends father had been living out there until he died for over 50 years almost ….and also most people are fed up of the rat race, the slave labour and the racism for most now matter how hard you work in the west you still can’t reach…people are fed up of the governments who promise much and deliver nothing for the people… people want a peaceful off grid healthy life physically and mentally which you cannot get in the west👀
As a Jamaica I hope many of us learn from the great lady we dont have to stay places we've they hate us, just return with a open mind and love each other.
True.
❤God blessed you all for coming back home.❤.
I can relate so we'll. I came back to Nigeria after 30 years. And you did a fantastic job with the interview 💯
Thank you 🙏🏾
Another great interview! This woman planned her future ahead of time, so it was easy for her to execute it when she got to Ghana. From she got to the UK, she was planning her escape.. She saved and managed her money well! Sorry to hear about the lost of her children. Marva, God bless you❤👠!
It was during my editing that I realised I needed to go into how she managed to build so much. May God bless you too.
salute mama
Our phenomenal women making a difference all ver the world 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲♥️
Wonderful speech, my cousin. Lots of blessings. Pauline
I'm from Jamaica. the first words out of her mouth and I loved her
Thanks Miss Marva a woman on a mission beautiful view. Thanks for sharing Jamaican say One Love you.
Wonderful woman! I will be keeping in touch!
NO DOUBT MOST OF OUR ANCESTORS WERE SENT TO JAMAICA AND THE CARIBBEAN .THE SPIRIT AND THE TRADITION STILL LINGERS IN THEM. WELL COME HOME MADAM..YOUR ANCESESTERS BROUGHT YOU BACK HOME. WELL DONE FOR YOUR GOOD INVESTMENTS ❤❤❤
That's for one reason I wouldn't migrate to another country, I'm in Switzerland now.. I already bought my house in Jamaica 🇯🇲 and in Jamaica I shall retire
Greetings. YOUR achievement is Most COMMENDABLE.
Blessings, 💚💯🌠
My mum's is Jamaican, and she lives in the UK but she is thinking of going home back to jamaica 🇯🇲
May God guide her decision
by herself? Jamaica not safe for women
I love her ... what a great energy and spirit
Lovely
🔥 ❤ 🔥
She is an awesome woman. Wow.
Hey Sista make Ghana great again 😊
Welcome home to Ghana Akwaaba eat and enjoy your time
Pure sincerity and wisdom. One Love!
Love how u keep focus n follow your dream 1 love 1 Africa
As a jamaican, what i would like to see is more Africans displaying the same affection to neighboring tribes and countries as they do for us in the diaspora. Until then, its meaning less. You cant honestly love us who are all the way across the world, if you dont love your brother tribe next-door to you.
For where I'm standing, Ghanaians extend love to everyone. We even have settlements for travelers from other countries called Zongo.
AS A JAMAICAN I WOULD LIKE TO SEE MY PEOPLE WAKE THE HECK UP AND GET BACK TO REALITY.
WHY EVER SINCE THE BLACK PANTHER ,'AFROBEATS , JAMAICANS AND WESTERN BLKS ARE MADE TO FEEL LIKE WE OWE SOMETHING TO AFRICA???!WHAT ABOUT EVOLVING,?
WHERE DID STRONG PSYCHOLOGICAL OBLIGATION TO HELP AFRICA CAME FROM.?
WHAT ABOUT JAMAICA.???????
Who misinformed you that Africans hate themselves? Have you heard of any wars between African nations?
❤❤❤@@MickeyAgyei
So very true, Africans in Africa need to unite. Be an example to the descendants of the mother land, Africa unite.
Congratulations on your beautiful achievement, Mrs Marva. I love the complex and how you decorated the place. Your timing to make your move was right. I hope to come on a visit to Africa one day soon.
You are always welcome.
Congratulations on your accomplishments 🎉 Beautiful and inspiring platform❤ I am Jamaica and has been living in the US for 41 yrs. This is truly inspiring. Thank you both.

Jamaicans 🇯🇲 understand Ghana because the land and culture is in the dna 🧬 of Jamaicans eg food, the land customs etc
Big up Mama Marva👊🏽👊🏽🙏🏼

Thank you 🙏🏾❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
You built your own empire in Ghana!
Sister Mava (AFIA)
You are indeed a West African by DNA. YOU ARE HOME. We Jamaican are special people who know how to adjust in the Motherland. I hope you find a support group of Caribbean people. If not just start one in your community. Peace and blessings.
She's accomplished what some of us are still dreaming.....
Quite impressive. Well done madam and welcome home
Great woman. Love her English accent .
Agreed
PROUD OF YOU MY SISTER❤❤❤
What an amazing lady, a real woman of substance!! Research minded too. With the new kumasi international airport soon to be operating, business will be booming!!🤞🏾🤞🏾 Glad you chose the garden city, Accra is choked!! And the heat is unbearable too. Some of us are regretting ever having our homes there. Hey ho!! Now I know Villa Sankofa, as one of the beautiful, peaceful, reassuring havens that I can always bk whenever I'm visiting Ghana and I want my peace & quiet. Such an imposing, beautiful building!! Palatial ❤❤. Thanks Mickey, for another inspiring video 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Well said. You can always build a small apartment in Kumasi. We have land for you 😊 Thanks very much for your support.
Amazing story !
This is how Jamaicans make roads when they have some cash flowing even in J.A. They don't wait for the government if they have the funds. ❤
The history of Jamaicans and their struggles, are different from those in Ghana. We in the Caribbean know where we are from as a continent but lack so much detailing which our ancesters couldn't share bevause they were all so separated. ❤❤
True. Some Ghanaians also contribute to build their roads. But that is very impressive of her.
Great, amazing, intelligent and beautiful Woman. I am Italian and American as well, and I love Ghana. I would love to build a very nice and loving orphanage in Ghana. Someone left me a piece of land there to be used for the children, but the Generous Queen Mother passed away and i never found out where the land was. RIP beautiful 👑 Mother.❤
Very sorry to hear. You should have gone to Ghana to make the land ownership official.
Great story.
This is an amazing story and an inspiration to us all. Well done Mr interviewer, when one of your questions led her to a dark place ( the loss of some of her children), you immediately threw in a question to bring her back to a good place. She immediately brightened up and was smiling again. Well done that is a very good interview technique, very few interviewers have that👍
Hmm thank you 🙏🏾
I agree, I noticed that and I was impressed, you're a good interviewer
Marva Girl, you are really a true Jamaican. You made me want to come there in an instance,...Do I need a visa, what are the procedures to visit? Thanks for sharing my youth.😂❤😊
I don't think Jamaicans need visa to visit. Just book and visit Marva's www.villasankofa.com and book accommodation.
Proud of you my cousin
❤
She's your cousin?
Exceptional work and living development. Divine spirit felt provision. Thanks & Bless It Be
Well history shows that our decendant is from Ghana
Thanks for sharing
Watched from England
I understand how she feels about been on the mother land. I went to Kenya and I'm hoping to be able to go back to live. I felt so at home, I saw resemblances in people I know from home. I'm also from the Caribbean and has always identified as as African. I love the mother land.
May God guide you

Jamaicans are everywhere in this world
Oh wow! Ms. Marva hit home so well when she said she only wanted to just live in the UK for 5 years and go back to her beautiful country. That was me when I left Ghana at 12 to be with my father who I didn't know at the time. Omg...almost 30 years and I'm still in Canada, miserable as hell. You have to help me get out of here Mickey. 😢 I hate it here. So lonely
Please link up on Instagram @mickey_agyei and let's have a conversation.
