    Would be nice to see comparisons to other bows beside Hoyt and Mathews. Add PSE, Prime, bowtech, and Elite. There are a lot of bow brands that are much better than Mathews. I am not a Hoyt fan either but last year Hoyt Ventum was one probably the best on the market last year in my opinion and they actually made real progress. I do enjoy your reviews. And Raymond does know his stuff!!

    Seems the 33 shoots better but that’s through sight observation. I do own the ventum33 btw. Best bow I’ve ever owned

    Nice review. Would like to see the comparison to the Mathews. I'm even more interested in "forgiveness" than speed between the two of them.

    I went to my pro shop yesterday to get my Easton axis 5mm 340 spine arrows and I shot the 30 and it was ok. I am not a hoyt guy but not a bad bow. I shoot a bowtech revolt. I am waiting on Dec 14th for bowtech to drop.

    I have the ventum 30 from 2021 and I'm having a serious problem with my peep sight lining up with my sight pins. I'm wondering if this is why hoyt made the modification with moving the cams away from the riser. Its very frustrating, I'm considering selling it.

      I honesty don’t think there’s enough to warrant a switch from my first initial impression. But, that could change if I wanted to switch to a shorter ATA bow that’s a slight more smoother with the new cams.

  • @randyboland3757
    @randyboland3757 2 роки тому

    Dont know whats wrong with you man. Mathews is a totally better bow than all the rest of the flagship bows. You should already know this since you have owned the Mathews V3's. I have literally shot every other flagship bow and there is always something that gets on my nerves with all of them except the Mathews V3's and the V3X's. Seriously, Every Hoyt that I have shot has a somewhat spongy wall which makes me feel like I cannot keep the same exact anchor shot after shot. Bowtech has the cool tuning system but its way louder than the Mathews and just doesnt have the same smooth draw as the switchweight cams do. I have shot them all. It seems like no one wants to hear my opinions so I usually keep them to myself. Escpecially people at pro shops, they dont want to hear what you have to say, they just want you to buy a bow.

      Not it’s not. Everyone falls for the Matthews poison because they’re the best at marketing. They’re like apple. Hoyt is better

    • @randyboland3757
      @randyboland3757 2 роки тому

      @@jasonsanders6630 Hoyt should be the best bow because they have more money in them than any other company because of marketing and research/development but they don’t. They have almost always been a step below. In the late 80’s, Pearson and Browning were killing them. Then Mathews came out with the solocam and they have been on the back burner trying everything they can to catch Mathews ever since. Not saying they’re not a good archery setup, they are, I would be stupid to even suggest it but Mathews has no more marketing than Hoyt does. They each have around the same percentage of profits that go directly into marketing. And to be honest, that loop in their riser, that damn loop. Loops make things loopy. Lol, I hate that loop. Just because of that swooping loop in the riser and that cushiony back wall. Those are the 2 main reasons I will never have one. Make a normal looking, bad ass bow with a solid back wall that is comfortable to shoot and just go with it. Had a guy in the pro shop telling me that Hoyts were by far the best bows ever made. And seeing the snarkness on his face when he said that made me want to buy anything but a Hoyt. 25 years have passed and now he’s telling me that PSE(pull, shoot, explode) is the best bow ever made. Makes me laugh. I owned a PSE Carroll Intruder in the mid 90’s. Sold it after one week because every shot felt like the whole bow was on the verge of literally exploding. A lot of the older bows, Browning Mirage’s, Spoilers, XI’s, we’re already getting speeds in the 320’s with 350 gr. arrows. People forget about that. That intruder I had was getting 331 fps back in 93. Fast bow but very violent. So, these days, it’s not the speed that sells. Speed sold in the 90’s. Nowadays, I want a sleek looking, good looking bow with a good draw cycle, that can shoot good groups, has a solid back wall and comes up with very good ideas. To me, this is Mathews without a doubt. There’s really no competition

    • @randyboland3757
      @randyboland3757 2 роки тому

      @@jasonsanders6630 so, I’m not trying to put them down. Just giving an opinion. Just like you are. You can say what you want about Mathews, it will never stop me from buying them unless they start getting stupid. The V3X definitely is going the right way. Wish I would have waited for them instead of getting the regular V3 before I did. But hey, I love them both. I’ll be honest with you. I’ve shot many, many bows over the last 30 years so I have tons of time behind a string so I think I have a right to give my opinion . First Mathews I ever bought was the V3. I’ve owned just about every compound made except a Hoyt. Loved my Oneida, loved my mirage, loved my T6 mirage, loved my XI, my Martin was OK. Liked my Pearson. So yeah, I’ve shot lots of bows. Never have had one that felt so good drawing back as the Mathews. That’s what sold it to me. Keep shooting your Hoyt. I hope you love the way it looks, I hope you like the draw cycle, hope it shoots good shot after shot, hope the bows keep evolving into other bows that are better. Why? Because I have one that meets everything I just mentioned. Who knows, maybe next year, I’ll go with Bowtech or Bear.????? Who knows. I’ll shoot’s em all again and see what I think. But I bet that I already know the winner. Oh, I haven’t mentioned that they’re super quiet, you know that and they are so dead in the hand that it’s almost unbelievable.

      @@randyboland3757 Bro, it all depends on what works for you. Doesn't matter what brand it is. Shoot every bow blindfolded, and you may be surprised what feels best. Just so happens that Mathews is the brand that best suits your specific shooting style. Others may be Hoyt. Or Bow tech. Or Gearhead. Or Prime. You get my point...
