    With the Bambu glue, I put it over the whole plate and do not clean it off between prints. When prints start to come loose I apply a new coat of glue over the old one, I don't clean off the plate even then. I also have a voron 2.4 with a textured plate and had similar issues with parts coming loose, until I found out the local Voron users have a similar glue they use on the textured plates to help with the adhesion, so it is not uncommon to use something on textured plates.

    I have a Bambu P1S. I purchased some of Bambu's own PAHT-CF (carbon fiber/nylon) filament which is super expensive ($95 a kilo) and it will not stay put for long prints. Using Bambu's own filament profile, my print takes about 5.5hrs. The closest I got was about 90% before failure. And that was using a 17mm brim on the textured plate. The brim gradually starts to peel up from the outermost edges and works it's way inward until the print comes free. Bambu recommends the high temperature smooth plate and glue stick so I've ordered that and hopefully it solves my issues.

      textured PEI sucks. I switched all my Bambu to High Temp Smooth. I only use PEI for easy prints.

    I am lucky enough that never have adhesion issue with textured plate. I only use the glue for the PLA cool plate to save some electricity, and the glue does its job~

      Keep in mind, glue on the smooth plate, is to protect the bed. Smooth plates have drastically better adhesion than textured pei

    According to Bambu Lab the glue is only needed with Cool, High-Temperature and the Engineering plates. It's not needed with the Textured PEI plate. I've only had mine couple of months and only used PLA with the textured PLA plate it came with. So far no issued, not los a single print.

    Does the liquid glue change the look of the bottom of the part that was against the bed? Can you see where the glue was applied thicker or thinner to the bed on the bottom of the part?

      I would ditch the Textured PEI and get a High Temp Smooth Plate. The adhesion is SO much better. I use this glue with Smooth PEI and Glass. You can use on Textured also, but, it's not as effective

    Stop touching the plate with dirty fingers. Any oils from your grubby digits will kill adhesion. Wash plate with soap and water. The pei sheet is awesome with pla. I don't need glue for that. I did need glue for petg because it was acting like a barrier due to the print sticking so much.

    • @Gtmz53fxt56zxc
      @Gtmz53fxt56zxc Рік тому +1

      He said he did keep the bed clean, with dish soap, with IPA on video and on Reddit, the issue is different - Bambu somehow coated those black PEI so that they do not work as well as the regular PEI and that a reason for a lot of problems that cannot be solved by washing print-bed in a specific way (ipa/ soap - both do not matter), it all comes to the specifics of the PEI coating done by Bambu. However, they do mention you can scrub a little of the plate with a metal wool sponge to renew the coating and then wash the damaged surface excess with soap... or apparently use glue. I will try both cuz I'm also having same issues despite the checkmarks on all the most regular way. There is a say first batch of PEI was faulty, and that the reason they changed PEI to golden already for the p1s for example.

    • @dead-weight
      @dead-weight 5 місяців тому

      @@Gtmz53fxt56zxc he literally touches the plate as he applies the glue. :) I see no reason for him to act differently off camera. His only problem is a dirty plate, I think. I have used both smooth and textured PEI plates from Bambu with the same problems, but now I only use the glue to print PETG on the smooth PEI as a release agent because it sticks too much. In all other cases no glue is needed if the plates are clean. And I mean squeaky clean. If you touched the plate in a work area - go wash it again with a detergent and use gloves to avoid touching it with bare hands. IPA is useless, spirits cannot dissolve grease, you will just spread it all over the plate and make things much, much worse.
      So, wear rubber/nitrile/latex gloves, wash the plate thoroughly with a brand new kitchen sponge and laundry gel (it's better because some dish soaps contain oils to save your hands and ruin the result), dry it with a paper towel and go printing without any glue.
      Or don't bother and keep spending money on glue, it's up to you.
