Swearengen died penniless. At one point the Gem was pulling in $5k to $10k a night. His death was reported as him falling under a train but in reality he was murdered.
@ Well, considering at that time train companies (up until...1940-50's) were known to be...."unfavorable" to hobos that took passage without consent....so it COULD have been a conductor that gave him a tap to the head just a little too hard. However...since he was found dead next to tracks for a STREETCAR, he was using an alias at the time and the fact his twin had survived an attempt on his own life some time earlier in another state...one could chalk it up to ...an unsavory past catching up with him.
Am I just misremembering things or was there a scene before this one, where Swearengen had Adams show his face in his office in order to persuade her that Adams, a lover whose heart she had used for her own shady purposes, would certainly kill her if Swearengen didn't?
He gladly shelled out $5,000, implored her to leave camp & get lost. Claim she turned up nothing about Brom Garrett's death. Anything to keep the Pinkertons away.
This was a great series. Honestly I didn't like the story lines of season 3 with Hearst, but I really got into the series. I just wished that the parties (HBO & Milch show's creator) would have come to some sort of mutual agreement. The movie was okay.
Haha one of my favorite subtle Al bits: how he trails off on her name as he sips his tea. "The biddings open always on everybody Mrs mmhowzn..."
reminds me of seinfeld whenever they have to make up a name on the spot lol
One of a thousand great scenes from a fantastic series.
Stands the test of time.
"Yours sincerely, your boss, Pinkerton shitheels" 😂😂 God, I miss this show.
She wasn't stupid. And the threat in the invisible telegram about her being killed was a powerful persuader for her too.
"Yours sincerely,
Your Boss: Pinkerton Shitheel"
The wonderful and ever-composed Sarah Paulson! Happy to see that she's enjoyed so much motion picture success since Deadwood.
This is my favorite scene in Game of Thrones
I don't get it...
She made the right choice.
Insult or not, Pinkerton Shitheels has a certain music to it as a name.
No match for "San Francisco Cocksuckah!"

Why murder a penniless man.

And he was very close in age with Bullock.
Doesn’t seem there’d be a shortage of people wanting to murder Al, regardless of his economic viability
Just so AWESOME, one of my all time favourite shows
I'm surprised that telegram didn't mention something about her brushing up against his prick again.

I thought the Sopranos had the best characters. Al Swearengen is amazing
Al would have been right at home as a Don.
He's the swear engine alright
Cy Tolliver is one of the best Villains of all time.
The show Justified is also full of amazing characters!
Sincerely, your boss

Al is a genius
Signed, Pinkerton shit heal
😀🖕
David Milch is the best tv writer of all time …it’s not even close ….I love seeing the similarities in dialogue in this and nypd blue or the like
Sarah Paulson? Wow.
HBOs best shows, ever.
Incredibe
The idea of Alma’s parents selling to shitheel third parties….. I wonder who that third party be? 😂yeah, “ inimical” indeed!
" Wish I had 2 like you "

HBO, you know you messed up with "Deadwood". Milch is a genius. Your other show's writing SUCKS compared to David's.
I've read best-selling novels with dialogue that can't touch Milch's. He's like Dylan or Rimbaud. An almost supernaturally-gifted communicator.
HBO can get great writers anywhere. So can Netflix.
@@navblue20 Sure, but Milch is beyond reproach. He's unbelievable.
Damn straight, audience drop second season they say is reason they quit
@@navblue20 Well, we're waiting.
Is that Sara Paulson?
No, its brie Larson
as lesbianac as she want to be ...
@Belarion A.D. no it’s not dude
@@1800aubrey Yes, it is. Taking into account this was about twenty years ago, but yes, it is.
@@WarmasterJoshmaul ha sorry sweaty, but your wrong. Now how does that feel?
