What a relief of having no other liabilities than a mortgage! We bought our car brand new almost 10 years ago now and it was such a pain in our rear paying it off. The weight lifted when we were done with and we vowed not to buy brand new again. Now our monthly budget has room to wiggle without it and we even bought a second vehicle used cash. I budget my husband's income and I'm a SAHM and it really isn't easy. All the best to you and even though we have different life situations, I look forward to these Budgeting strategies as it can really translate to any lifestyle as long as you have the goal of your lifestyle not exceeding your income.

Making a budget and sticking to it is crucial to being financially stable. Liked your tips and I too live within my means. Still not used to you and Dan not being together but so glad you are happier

Because of Covid-19 restrictions, my music performance career is totally on hold, and I've had to become a full time online music teacher! I love it, but it's also rough to recoup lost income (I had some CERB help, but now I don't qualify) so I'm working on building this online business. I'm such a beginner at all the online stuff, so watching and learning from folks like you is so helpful. I think I'll check out your budgeting tool!

It. Did! After now knowing you get more the longer one watches ads, I sat through two entire spots, which I never do...
I moved every two years from second grade to highschool. Once I turned 18 I left to my own place. One year later I moved to Florida fully away from my friends and family. You have built yourself a home there but home is where the kids are so if you can’t buy Dan out then there will be other houses. But it’s true you haven’t been this joyful in a while.
You’re so right. It’s taken me a while to get there but I fully believe you’re right. If it were just me I could live anywhere but I feel bad if my kids have to move from the house they’ve known but you’re right. Home is your family not where your family lives. Thanks for this.

Sending good vibes! I’ve been in yoga school with a family:) and haven’t been up to date. I’m so sorry for your new situation as far as the unknown and life change. I’ve been divorced. I let him take all our properties and didn’t take him for anything because I couldn’t stomach being around him and his chaos, but I know what it’s like going from a high income house to an X-ray salary.

Once again I am so sorry about you and Dan. I'm not a member bcz I just can't afford even a $1 a month. Ik that sounds crazy but it's true. My mom and I are going through some hardships caused by a close family member rn. Just alot of craziness in my family rn. Also my mama who is 81 was diagnosed with breast cancer a couple months ago. It has been really crazy. Someone told me last night, When God is getting ready to bless the devil will start messing. I am holding to that hope. Have you thought about a patreon page Elle?? I don't think I learned anything about budgeting in this video, just about all of your personal streams of income. :(
I saw it as a great way to start out your budgeting journey: where do you get your money from and what are the necessary expenses each month. I think it was a good overview, and if you want in depth budgeting you can purchase the ebook Elle sells.

Maybe you will say this further into the video, but did you and Dan get legal papers drawn up with your plan in place just in case someone changes their minds? Obv you don't have to answer, but I have seen a lot of people have very amicable and friendly splits and then a new partner comes in or a job is lost or something happens and one party changes their minds and bc there is no legal papers to say "no no this is what we agreed to!" I always thought Dan was pretty cool and I am not saying at all that HE would be te one who may do this, it could be you it could be him it could not happen at all, but it's always smart to just have these agreements in writing and filed with a lawyer so if something does happen you have that protection! Praying for you, the kids and for Dan! It is crazy that it's already been a year and I hope all of you are doing well!!

Mortgage is a 5 year term? In the states it’s 30!
it's likely a 30 year mortgage that is on a 5 year term so every 5 years the rate is up for renegotiation

Right. One of my beloved other vloggers that I watch, Brianna K, has these people on message boards that literally picked apart the state of her ear lobes because they didn't like her. And I hope Brianna doesn't google those hater boards for her self care. I think Bonnie Hollein has decided not to read or respond to a lot of her comments for her self care. There is NO POSSIBLE WAY these message board people are super cheery in real life and maybe they are isolated and miserable. It's aggravating because the message board people are literally united by hate and misunderstanding. That is never healthy for anyone.
