"We are happy to announce that Tencent will be taking the System Shock franchise forward. As a smaller Indie studio, it had been challenging for us to carry the project on our own. We believe Tencent’s deep capabilities and expertise as a leading game company will bring the franchise to new heights." Tencent, huh...
Thanks Razor for highlighting BattleTech and Underworld..i had precious little knowledge of either I.P;now i look forward to checking out the latest versions.
"Delays be damned..." Noooo, no, no, no... No. I'm tired of paying for unfinished games. Let them take as long a fuckin Tool album to release it, I don't care, just finish the damn thing.
That car interior in Observer looks so 80s I wouldn't be surprised if Snake Plissken jumped out of my monitor and started kicking my ass while I was playing it. I mean that in a good way.
Anyone find it interesting that I have no (or very little) interest, time or money to invest into any new games...but I still click on this video and watch it all the way through.
A Top 5 anticipation list...in August. Razor has amazing timing sometimes. Jokes aside, can't wait to see what he's looking forward to. Probably gonna be cool stuff.
Razor, love to hear what you think of Harmony Gold going after Harebrained Schemes for a few of the old classic Mech designs (Marauder, and Warhammer among them) - there's a bit of conjecture going around that this may be holding up the beloved and awaited PC game, and perhaps even hamper its mech-lineup. And a righteous god-fuckin'-speed to you for reintroducing me to the Battletech universe - MechWarrior 2 was my Disney channel growing up.
RKT yeah I was hoping Razor would address this either in the video (as soon as he name dropped BT) or in the comments. I've read the docket of HG suing CGL, PGI, HBS and Weismann and all I can say is it's a massive crock of shit.
"Are you looking forward to ANYTHING?!?!?" I know it may sound tired to you, but the fact you answered the question is a good thing. Too many people have become cynical and nihilistic in their nature. Too many people have decided it is more intresting to make video after video talking about how a game on steam green lit is really shit for twenty minutes, or how the AAA-industry is really shit. The fact you made this video proves you are not one of those people. Also: Rutger Hauer is allowable as a reason to buy any product and anybody saying otherwise is a filthy heretic
My list in no particular order. Greedfall: An RPG by Spiders who also made Mars: War Logs, Bound by Flame and The Technomancer. I loved those games so I expect this one will also be fun. ELEX: Another RPG, but by Piranha Bytes who are known for the Gothic and Risen series. RDR2: Pretty much everyone is hyped for this shit. The Guild 3: Wary, but also excited to see another installment in this highly underrated series of sim/strategy games, even though it's a new developer. Mount & Blade: Bannerlord: Whenever the fuck it's released, I'll be playing it.
deep breath........thank you razorfist!! I'm serious THANK YOU I either forgot or never knew some of these games. The second half of 2017 is going to be interesting
Kyle Faust I remember having all these battletech manuals and such about different mech types and I always wondered if it was to a video game...but they kinda seemes like they were part of a tabletop rpg. Was battletech initially a tabletop game?
Yeah, Battletech was originally tabletop, conceptualized in 1984, and the rest as they say is history. Hex-based turn-based strategy game, with details galore, external armor, internal components and ammo stocks that could get hit and cook off (nearly blowing the mech in half sometimes.) and that was just the action war-game, there was also a tabletop RPG thrown into the mix at some point as well ("Time Of War") then came the computer games (MechWarrior) in mid 80s to early 90s, before slowly waning in popularity but maintaining a hell of a cult following and being generally treated incredibly well as an IP. And now we have HBS with Battletech... mechanically a slightly more streamlined version of the tabletop, but the mechanical focuses and spirit of the game are largely faithful to the source material.
This video is _not_ in my subscriptions... but it IS on my home page. I can flip back and forth between the two: there it is, now it's gone, there it is, now it's gone...
Other Side Studios will seem to also showcase to the rest of the video game industry how a fucking video game should be done. Superb video Fist, your top 5 is now mine.
I've had Underworld Ascendant Kickstarted since I first found out about it, and I'm looking forward to System Shock 3 so, so much. I have raved to my friends about just how ahead of its time the first Shock was to the point that they probably want to shoot themselves, and it's one of my favorite games and series of all time. I just hope they go with something a bit closer System Shock 1's style with the interchangeable implants and temporary buff patches as opposed to System Shock 2's Skills and Stats. While I don't mind RPG mechanics by any stretch I feel like Shock 1's system was better handled as it was intentionally designed to remove stats and abstract numbers from the equation while still giving the player a wealth of options and approaches, it definitely could've been improved upon, but what it needed was just more to it whereas 2's system needed a complete rebalance from the ground up.
I've known about the system shock 3 since the announcement but every time someone mentions it 's existence I feel like it's been announced all over again and I can't wait to see where they take the story this time.
I just hope to god Metroid prime 4 is good, they killed my command and conquer, lobotomized my fallout, left my perfect dark out to rot and forgot my P.N.03, all i got left is doom, space engineers, modded out classics, and stellaris.
I was just watching his New Vegas stream, and i saw this video up next on the recommendation list, but it said it was removed by the user when I clicked on it. So I go to Razor's homepage and click on this video, and its fine, but this same video is up next on the recommended list now, and when I click on it, it says its removed by user, pesky Jewgle.
No amount of proverbial mental masturbation could disclose my absolute adoration of this mans verbal eloquence. Razor is a linguistic mastermind of insurmountable proportions, with every video making me harder than a level 1, no deaths, run of Dark Souls in under 30 minutes. God FUCKING Speed XD
I have too many games in my backlog to be thinking about what I'm anticipating. Add that to the games I can't put down regardless of how many times I finish them and I don't see myself making many game purchases over the next 24 months.
The Underworld games are not on Steam. Does anybody know if its possible to get them digitally? Or is physical my only option? And if physical is the only way, are there any good alternatives?
Holy shit what a list! I couldn't agree more. Underworld is gonna be everything Elder Scrolls should aspire to be but will never be allowed to anymore.
I have not put down Battletech since I got it. The fact that it has been this long since a good game of this IP has been out makes it that much sweeter. I hope that they come up with a great new simulation as well. God Fucking Speed!
The only reason I picked up Prey was because Warren Spector name dropped it in a retrospective he did on deus ex. I'd say try it razor, especially if you can get it for 15 dollars. It's worth a look.
The video games I'm looking forward to are: 1. Red Dead Redemption 2(obviously) 2. Kingdom Come: Deliverance(game looks incredibly impressive with how small the budge it has) 3. Mount & Blade: Bannerlord(my most anticipated game. Looks absolutely amazing. Now if they will actually ever fucking release it...) 4. Assassin's Creed Origins(I'm a sucker for open-worlds and I like what I've seen so far) 5. The Last Night( Very atmospheric Cyberpunk. I'm kinda pissed that the developer caved in from the pressure and apologized for *FUCKING EXISTING*, but hey, nobody is perfect.) ...and that's about it. Nothing else strikes my fancy. And although it has come out last year, I can't wait to try out Deus Ex Mankind Devided(have to upgrade my PC first). Human Revolution was fucking badass.
I agree both the western and eastern branch of RPGs can go through a a resurgence now with a successful Persona series in the west now, and a return to Ultima as well as the scifi System shock it has a shot.
System Shock I got in '94 for the old 486. The box was fucking fantastic. Back when publisher Origin would grace their stuff with thick gaming manuals and other goodies. Hands down still to this day my No 1 fave game... Deus Ex as good as it is, or SS2, just can't compete IMO
Hey Razorfist, off subject question. What are your thoughts on Rammstein? Do you think personally think they have their niche or do you think they're the German equivalent of Metallica as everyone says they are.
"We are happy to announce that Tencent will be taking the System Shock franchise forward. As a smaller Indie studio, it had been challenging for us to carry the project on our own. We believe Tencent’s deep capabilities and expertise as a leading game company will bring the franchise to new heights."
Tencent, huh...
Razör's 5 Anticipated Games of 2017 That Aren't Actually Coming Out In 2017 (Mostly)
Congratulations on hitting 100k Razor!
Gun was a pretty awesome game - I never knew how much I wanted dual revolvers in a game until then. Haven't really played anything like it since.
I'd love to see Otherside buy the Thief IP.
BOSS ROSS they'll probably be able to when the Thief movie tanks
Thanks Razor for highlighting BattleTech and Underworld..i had precious little knowledge of either I.P;now i look forward to checking out the latest versions.
Your enthusiasm is as infectious as it is charming
-Divinity: Original Sin II
-Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus
That's really it for games actually releasing in 2017 for me.
Rutger Hauer? In MY video games?
"*Danish* demigod"
Oh, Razör... :-(
"Delays be damned..."
Noooo, no, no, no... No.
I'm tired of paying for unfinished games. Let them take as long a fuckin Tool album to release it, I don't care, just finish the damn thing.
Goddamn, Razor, I fucking LOVE the strong output of content you've had for the last couple weeks.
Moviebob needs a healthy dose of dodge challenger.
That poor Dodge Challenger.
The Rageaholic the only thing of value that was lost
Atleast i can like him for being a Filthy Hentai fan..Like me :)
The car is going to lose in that battle
Casper Hindkjær easy he's a deliberately misinformed blob of stupid who does just repeats anything Anita Sarkesian says
Wait Rutger Hauer is Danish? I could swear he was Dutch...
He is Dutch
He IS Dutch, to reiterate G0atboy with more emphasis.
Perhaps hes of frisian decent, there by making both answers right
Yeaaaah, I'm still gonna wait to see how the reviews turn out. I've been burned too much before.
That car interior in Observer looks so 80s I wouldn't be surprised if Snake Plissken jumped out of my monitor and started kicking my ass while I was playing it.
I mean that in a good way.
Man, I love the rants. Rapidly becoming one of my favorite youtubers. You and Styxhexenhammer666.
Anyone find it interesting that I have no (or very little) interest, time or money to invest into any new games...but I still click on this video and watch it all the way through.

RKT Welcome to what HG has been doing since the 90's. Mindlessly suing people and stopping Japan from sending shows overseas.
RKT yeah I was hoping Razor would address this either in the video (as soon as he name dropped BT) or in the comments. I've read the docket of HG suing CGL, PGI, HBS and Weismann and all I can say is it's a massive crock of shit.
How to get started with battle tech? How do I get started would the new game be a good point?
He made a few tweets and a few comments during a live stream about it
"Are you looking forward to ANYTHING?!?!?"
I know it may sound tired to you, but the fact you answered the question is a good thing.
Too many people have become cynical and nihilistic in their nature. Too many people have decided it is more intresting to make video after video talking about how a game on steam green lit is really shit for twenty minutes, or how the AAA-industry is really shit.

love hearin ya talk and comment. Even on the worst of days you make me laugh. thanks!!!
OMG, GUN, I remember playing that after my auntie bought me it when I was 12.Thanks for reminding of that awesome game. 'twas my first 18+ game.
deep breath........thank you razorfist!! I'm serious THANK YOU I either forgot or never knew some of these games. The second half of 2017 is going to be interesting
Sees full *Observer* trailer.
Adds it to wishlist.
Starts playing Bladerunner on repeat.
Thank you, Razor.
Battletech forever, babyyyy
Heavy metal, or no metal at all!
All Systems Nominal
Kill the meat, save the metal. B^)
Kyle Faust I remember having all these battletech manuals and such about different mech types and I always wondered if it was to a video game...but they kinda seemes like they were part of a tabletop rpg. Was battletech initially a tabletop game?

SYSTEM SHOCK 3 THE KING HAS ARRIVED HELL YEAH.
RDR2 was delayed until Spring 2018 which gives me some time until I get a * sigh * PS4.
This video is _not_ in my subscriptions... but it IS on my home page.
I can flip back and forth between the two: there it is, now it's gone, there it is, now it's gone...
THANK YOU FOR INTRODUCING ME TO THESE!
Thank you Sir Razorfist for introducing me to the glory of System Shock.
Loved the vid hate you depriving us, the Dutch of our Ivanhoe that is the lovely acting prowess of Rutger Hauer
Bloody hell! I couldn't have agreed more to this! It's like the return of the 90s!
That was one hell of a list
Welccccccomeeee back hhhaaacker
Other Side Studios will seem to also showcase to the rest of the video game industry how a fucking video game should be done. Superb video Fist, your top 5 is now mine.
God, I can't wait to commandeer a full star of Urbanmechs!
You know what prompts me to thumb up a video?
"Gawd... Fffffffffucckin' speeeed!"
RDR and Underworld look dope af.
Fantastic list, I hope they do well.
What are your favorite games that have already come out this year?
I've had Underworld Ascendant Kickstarted since I first found out about it, and I'm looking forward to System Shock 3 so, so much. I have raved to my friends about just how ahead of its time the first Shock was to the point that they probably want to shoot themselves, and it's one of my favorite games and series of all time. I just hope they go with something a bit closer System Shock 1's style with the interchangeable implants and temporary buff patches as opposed to System Shock 2's Skills and Stats.

a few more games just made it to my steam wishlist.
I'm really looking forward to Divinity: Original Sin 2 next month.
So hyped for Underworld: Ascendant!!
I've known about the system shock 3 since the announcement but every time someone mentions it 's existence I feel like it's been announced all over again and I can't wait to see where they take the story this time.
Well my anticipated games list just grew.
Kickstarter has made it impossible for me to be hyped for a game based on who is working on it
I'd have thought Divinity 2 Original Sin would be on your list. Seems a game right up your alley.
I know what I'm looking forward to.
4K MINECRAFT!
Still no system shock 3.
"2017"...this will not age well
I...just realized something. Other Side..Looking Glass. Heh..that's actually pretty clever.
From what I heard, the new Aquanos is worth paying attention to.
Thank you so fucking much for putting Battletech on this list.
I know, I know, how could you not, but seriously.
I just hope to god Metroid prime 4 is good, they killed my command and conquer, lobotomized my fallout, left my perfect dark out to rot and forgot my P.N.03, all i got left is doom, space engineers, modded out classics, and stellaris.
So it's nearly 2 hours since I watched that video and my raging erection is still going strong. Should I call a doctor?
No, that's completely normal.
Observer looks fucking fantastic. Damn man.
Awwww.... an I was waiting for you to tell us all how much you were anticipating the release of Final Fantasy 32 BukkakeBoogaloo
5 Anticipated Games of early 2018
I was just watching his New Vegas stream, and i saw this video up next on the recommendation list, but it said it was removed by the user when I clicked on it. So I go to Razor's homepage and click on this video, and its fine, but this same video is up next on the recommended list now, and when I click on it, it says its removed by user, pesky Jewgle.
Great taste man.
I was surprised when I saw that Battletech made 2nd on your list. Almost thought you got word of Otherside getting the rights to Thief again.
I need all of those games on my rig yesterday
Backed Underworld, super hype for it.
Hope they can do it, tho...
I never seen a man with such verbal versatility dedicate so much to fit to bodily fluid waste and male genitalia it's a bit admirable
No surprises because of my avatar; but Trails of Cold Steel 3 for me. Yes I know it won't be out in English; but it does come out this year.
I do fear that Rutger Hauer is a Dutch fella not a Danish one.
wait
"their first name was "looking glass
"and now it called "other side
clever
Yep they went through the looking glass. I do think that is a witty name for it making it known they are a continuation of looking glass.
Well I'm seeing new cool things thanks for doing the job of the major gaming media
I have not put down Battletech since I got it. The fact that it has been this long since a good game of this IP has been out makes it that much sweeter. I hope that they come up with a great new simulation as well.
God Fucking Speed!
You have fine taste in video games my dear Rageaholic.................just like mine!
It's 2018 and I still didn't know System Shock 3 was a thing
I think it was cancelled
Damn fine list. But no mention of War of the Chosen?
I was blindly eating my baked Alaska while watching this video; it could have used more milk
What do you think about Grimoire : Heralds of the Winged Exemplar? I gave up on this game coming out a loooooong time ago.
All looks good to me, will check them except the Robot since I never read any of the novels or played games.
Most of these games are nowhere near to coming out in 2017...
Eoghan900 yes glad someone else noticed
kinda tells u what razor thinks about current gaming industy
Hey razor as a mech fan have you played hawken? It's a free game on Xbox live and it's pretty damn fun
looking glass should do a shadow game with Ian Mc Shane as an older Lamont Cranston
Don't worry Razor. I already know you don't hate everything......you like X-Wing.....and I agree.
All the Battletech, all for me.
I just hope the Harmony Gold lawsuit doesn't derail things.
The only reason I picked up Prey was because Warren Spector name dropped it in a retrospective he did on deus ex. I'd say try it razor, especially if you can get it for 15 dollars. It's worth a look.
I never heard of system shock 3 till this video thanks Razor do you know if i'll need to play the first two to grasp the plot of this one?
much appreciated friend.
I'm surprised agony didn't make the list
The video games I'm looking forward to are:
1. Red Dead Redemption 2(obviously)
2. Kingdom Come: Deliverance(game looks incredibly impressive with how small the budge it has)
3. Mount & Blade: Bannerlord(my most anticipated game. Looks absolutely amazing. Now if they will actually ever fucking release it...)
4. Assassin's Creed Origins(I'm a sucker for open-worlds and I like what I've seen so far)
5. The Last Night( Very atmospheric Cyberpunk. I'm kinda pissed that the developer caved in from the pressure and apologized for *FUCKING EXISTING*, but hey, nobody is perfect.)
...and that's about it. Nothing else strikes my fancy. And although it has come out last year, I can't wait to try out Deus Ex Mankind Devided(have to upgrade my PC first). Human Revolution was fucking badass.
I didn't even know that system shock 3 was in development, games media really doesn't mention it at all.
Looks like the RPG genre is finally starting to climb back up. Hopefully.
I agree both the western and eastern branch of RPGs can go through a a resurgence now with a successful Persona series in the west now, and a return to Ultima as well as the scifi System shock it has a shot.
Good stuff as always.
Will you say anything about what happened in Charlottesville, or has everything been already said?
So the Keepers switched from glyphs to runes? Wondered where those guys went. I'm sold.
What about films you're looking forward to? I know you have a rant about the new It
Hey you actually got an ad on this one lol
I'm buying observer.
5 stars on the intro alone
Hey Razorfist, off subject question. What are your thoughts on Rammstein? Do you think personally think they have their niche or do you think they're the German equivalent of Metallica as everyone says they are.
I just want another Jak and another Sly. Not this year? Then fucking next. I WANT THOSE.
