This scene was one of the best I have ever seen on a TV screen. They were both absolutely brilliant. But I loved Domenic West at this moment. Maura Tierny’s line right before West’s could have came off as hokey (not here fault I believe-it was just kinda simple). But West’s responses, verbal and facial, after was so emotional. Brilliant scene by two great actors.

Helen's facial expressions when Noah watches footage from Whitney's wedding on her phone and Noah's smile when Helen says she loves him after so long is literally the pure illustration of the word love. I hope both actors who play the two leads win emmies this year because this was some high level acting.

So true but I doubt this show is in emmies radar after first two seasons, Joshua Jackson's acting in season 4 was simply superb and so heartbreaking, but he didn't even get a nomination, wish there was some kind of petition for viewers to nominate these brilliant actors...

I agree except for the Joanie future scenes. It was too contrived, and Anna Paquin did a crappy job with it. Her accent was a muffled Southern accent. And her pissy attitude seemed forced and awkward. But Dominic and Maura? Perfection. That man can do an American accent better than any English I've ever seen try it. It's flawless.

The very best ending / final show of any series I've ever watched - how can something so sad be so happy - Whitneys flash dance was fantastic simply amazing - the looks the expressions - the kids secretly leaving the wedding to get their dad only to peer through the window of the motel to catch him making love to Helen - Noahs dance at the end on the cliff edge - him earlier sitting next to the three gravestones - it had the lot - one i will watch again at some point in my life but left with happy memories for now

I loved this scene. It took me back to when Helen said ‘I would be a fucking idiot to go back there.’ It’s the same as when Cole said to Alison ‘I would be crazy to trust you again.’ Both Cole and Helen never stopped loving their spouses and in the end they both chose to be crazy and try again because their heart won out over their head. It’s so powerful. When Helen said ‘if I die without you knowing I love you do I get a prize or something.’ That sentence said it all for both her and Cole. In the end they chose to throw in their pride and reason to be happy and try to be with the person they truly loved. ‘I’m tired of pretending.’ ‘ So stop pretending.’ The writing was amazing in this show. Amazing show.

@@gordonhall752 That's LIFE...we grow into this world, sinking our roots ever deeper into its soil. Over the seasons we grow, and we shed our leaves, only to renew and grow again. We reach for the sky, spread our arms to the horizon. Our leaves wither and fall, and eventually, inevitably, one day, the branches that have embraced the world, grow weak and frail and die off. We retreat from the world, and finally...just fall over.
But the beauty of this life is that the wave that we are has always had its home in the ocean, and one day, that wave just simply becomes the ocean.

Helen got hotter through out this whole tv series. The fact she persevered as an independent woman and moved on from Noah while taking care of both her kids and herself is what attracted successful men like Max, Vik and Sasha to her. It is also the reason Noah wanted her back and her internal love for him is what brought them back together literally till death do them part.

At the beginning of the show she is like the soccer mom with a minivan who is always overbooked with all her kids appointments and crap. She has no time for herself let alone Noah and that seems to be what draws him to Allison. Honestly, the show does not explore who the Helen character really is until after Noah starts cheating.

I don't think he was thinking of Allison he could have visited her grave it is in the same cemetery as the Butlers if you recall I think EJ was visiting Helen when he saw Joanie visiting Allison. Also Noah doesn't even seem angry that Ben is getting away with murdering Allison he was only mad the first time he heard Joanie say it but then seemed to just feel calm like he had closure. The same Noah who broke down in a dinner like Cole hours after identifying Allison's body.

I wish they wouldn't have added Joanie's ending and instead focused on Helen longer, and maybe showing how she leaves Vik's house to Sierra and her new partner. They all move back home to care for Bruce. Also is Sierra newly dating her director friend who gave her the acting role? I was a bit confused on that as both actors look the same from previous episodes. I was hoping we would only get a little bit of Joanie meeting Noah in that restaurant and their whole dialogue wrapped up in 5 mins lmao. Also more reconciliation on what happened with the #metoo movement? I wonder happened to that? They should have showed trevor and stacy getting to stay in school and Colin being offered a job at the wedding reception or something. It would've been much more conclusive to a lot of questions. Nonetheless it was still a good ending. I'm happy Noah and Helen atleast got back together.

Vik left the house for Helen and her kids who he basically adopted as his own. Vik left his other finances to his parents which should eventually go to Baby Eddy. The show never explained how the Butlers still owned their house to host Whitney's wedding when they were broke. Noah and Helen paid for everything. Also Noah dances at the same ledge where Whitney and Colin said I do. It looks like Climate Change destroyed the estate where the Butler family home use to be. Yes that is the director. I was surprised Sierra was with him since he was an asshole and seemed more of a MeToo allegation than Noah.
