The signings of Bey and Jonas tell me the Wizards are looking for some team toughness. Defense and rebounding. They were very soft last year. What I get out of it. For instance, when I was watching the Thunder in the playoffs. I was like. They can't rebound. They are kind of soft. What do they do. They sign Hartenstein. The same thing here. Wizards need more team tuffness.
I didn't understand the signing at first, but Bey is in the same draft class as Deni. You thought we had Deni on a great contract, if Bey bounces back from injury as expected, this contract is pure gold!! Bey fits the timeline & is a HUGE trade piece if needed.
Great show. I was thrown by the Bey signing too but I will say this about the whole notion of the timeline and what the ages of the players will be on the team when the Wizards are ready to contend. Steve Kerr from Golden State has always said in his experience, "young players don't know how to win." If you look at a lot of the teams that are contenders they typically have a range of players at different ages. Take the Celtics. They were a young team who struggled to break through. KP, helped but when they added 34 yr old Jrue Holiday along with 38 yr old Horford it gave them the veteran presence they needed. Look at 25 yr old Luka, 20 yr old Derrick Lively and 31 yr old Kyrie Irving. When Jordan Poole won with Golden State, he was 22, Steph was 34, and Draymond and Klay were 31. All the young teams like OKC, Memphis, and Orlando are now adding vets with more experience to their roster so don't be surprised if Dawkins does the same.
Ppl gotta realize that every team has to spend a certain percentage of cap money. That's all these signings represent. We just spending the required money that needs to be spent. We aint looking for much from Bey or Valanchuwhatever
If Bey recovers and plays well being a DC native perhaps he gets an offer and wants to stay. The magic number seems to be 3 years. In that time the Wizards sort things out probably post Kuzma. To be honest it has been hard to watch this team for many years. I like the effort I'm seeing so far. I will tune in more now and support these young guys and the organization. I feel bad about Wes because I watched his dad and Elvin Hayes back in the day win that championship. Life goes on from Baltimore to DC and Bullets to Wizards and beyond.
Man...I gotta figure out how to get in the gym and it's a good addition. Deni wasn't bad...it just took him awhile to develop due to coaching and intangibles
Everyone do yourself a favor and make some fried cauliflower with a spicy remoulade sauce for tonight’s game. I’d buy a Washington Bulletproof jersey of Kuzma…that’d be fire
I respectfully disagree with y'all. The Wizards FO & "Bulletproof" don't set the trade value market. The rest of the NBA sets the market. Trades like Knicks, Pelicans, Portland, & so on.... that's what sets the market at 2 FRP's for Kuzma or just keep him. We got him on a great contract & he not gonna cost us a lottery pick in 2025.
If he isn't already, Kispert should be looking to rent month to month, since he probably isn't in DC after the trade deadline, unless he signs a Deni/Kuzma declining contract.
You might be able to get two firsts for Kuzma if you take back a crappy deal-- e.g., trading for Wiggins, I'd ask for a first and removing all protections on the 2030 first Warriors already owe the Wiz; or Randle to liberate the Wiz protected first and another first.
Kuz isn't bulletproof. It is more likely that the market is giving him a bulletproof vest for the moment. Careful observation of the NBA market's current supply side reveals that Portland is also looking to trade Jermy Grant and is asking for two first-rounders, while Utah is seeking a trade option for Lauri Markkanen. Both play the same position as Kuz, are roughly the same age, and are better options than him, to be truly honest. In essence, teams are looking to explore a trade on Markkanen before they consider either Grant or Kuzma.
Bey is great but I really don't get this signing. Doesn't fit timeline and I assume he takes up a roster spot...is an ACL-returnee really a trade asset? Questionable... HoopsHype says we're about to sign Fournier next. An even worse idea... The market will decide what Wizards get for Kuzma and nothing is guaranteed for him or Kispert but in-general, the idea that we can just trade decent role players for draft capital is suspect at best.
What don't you get? It's clear as day they are going after defensive and rebounding FAs with we were bottom last year in both categories. Also ACL injuries especially in young players is not even a bad thing no more like back in the day. Team needs some toughness and experience you can't just throw all young players on the court without Veteran leadership to point out their wrongs. This team is nowhere near ready to content for a playoff spot smh
@@jba414 I see your points and I can't say if Bey is a good or bad veteran leader esp. relative to others but I hope you're right. I'd personally let the kids play. I will be happy if we win 5 games this year. I hope you're not standing up for Fournier too...
Wizards sign and trade Tyus Jones to Spurs for Julian Champagnie. Wizards trade Kyle Kuzma, Malcolm Brogdon and Johnny Davis to Utah Jazz for 2 first round picks, John Collins, Jordan Clarkson and Cody Williams.
This show is SLAMMIN". You guy's are rocking with the content. Particularly regarding Kyle Kuzma.

They had the worst defense and rebounding last yr,
Jonas will get his rebounds for sure

He replaces Deni for half the salary. Also Kispert insurance.
Wiz will need a pure shooter after Kispert is gone. Bey can build chemistry til he gets his shot.. Kuz and WD have a handshake deal.

Bey can shoot. He's streaky as a fat kid's underwear but he can shoot.
lol
Bey can be beast but we need a shooter like clarkson

Did yall see the Stat about past players that are now champs? I dont think it's the team I think it's just the uniform...which makes me sad.
I think a majority of the fan base wants to zee kuz moved.
I don't, unless they get 2 first rounders for him,
But who you replace him with?
@@michaelroelant7134 Alex sarr needs to start and develop. Bilal is going to play the 3 and kysbawn will come off the bench
It's not about Saddiq Bey v Deni. It's do we want just Deni or do we want Sadiqq Bey plus what we got for Deni? I'd take Saddiq Bey plus the assets.
DEPTH & SHOOTING
Should we consider sending a center to the spurs for trade or and considerat
I think jordan clarkson would be a good move and about john collins i dunno but the real deal would be lauri but doubt he would join us😮
Funny how they praise DENI 41 PT GM 🤷BUT S BEY HAD 51 PTS LAST YR😮😮😮 AN YALL GOT ?????🤔🤔🤔🤔🤷

Good show.....I have a better understanding of the time line..."cooking like an air fryer"..really Brandon, really?
Kuz has led the squad in total points & pulls for 3 seasons. He ain't sum cutt. He was a championship bench piece. Two 1's is fair ...
This was a good low risk signing.
He gets traded after a good season
