Larry Bird - Larry Legend (Original Career Documentary)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 23 тра 2024
- Larry "Legend" Bird, an 80s icon who changed the course of basketball history. The original greatest shooter to ever play, Bird could hit from anywhere on the court. In a time when the 3 was just introduced, Bird was a lethal weapon. A scrappy warrior that would fight for every loose ball, pull double digit rebounds, make circus passes with pinpoint accuracy, and drain any shot anywhere...while talking trash. This original documentary covers the entirety of Larry Bird's career. His rise from humble beginnings, his college superstardom, his rivalry with Ervin Magic Johnson which saved the NBA from fading viewership. Relive all the moments that made the legend of Larry Bird. Reigning 3's in the clutch, winning 3 MVPs in a row, dominating the 3 point contest, becoming a trash talking icon, playing games left handed just to mess with guys, and all while hanging 3 banners in the rafters...take a walk down memory lane in a way only brought to you by Joseph Vincent.

Bro just casually came back after 3 months, and dropped a feature film on Larry 😩
Yea, pretty sure he knows the NBA is scripted as well. Wouldnt be surprised if he has a foot or taken a look through that door with docs he makes. You have to be a kid or brainwashed to not know the NBA isnt authentic
he was either 1st or 2nd in mvp voting in 7 season and another season 3rd in voting and 4th in voting. His last 3 of 4 seasons were with back issue and he missed like 150 games because of it. That 4500 points if he had his average season.
💯 ... That's what I'm saying. This s*** is crazy. I love these videos man!!!
I never put on a uniform to go play a game, I put on a uniform to WIN! Thanks for another BANGER Joey Legend
The last 3x back to back to back MVP. Larry Bird would dog walk so many modern players and hardly break a sweat. Thank you Joe for this masterpiece.
Hell yeah. What current players would he dog walk?
@@wcarlosbrown Literally the entire NBA All Defensive team. Bam, AD, Rudy, Herb, Wemby. No one's guarding Bird in today's NBA. He's basically Luka...except 43 years before Luka, and he'd do to Rudy EXACTLY what you saw Luka do in Game 1 of the WCF. Cut the passing lane he'll take the layup. Overplay him and parish (gafford/lively) will be ready for the lob. Unlike luka though, he won't look to the refs to solve the problem, bird will just HURT YOU. Bird's a bad dude.
@@reikoshea so he is doing that against Superior athletes?
@@wcarlosbrown 100%. Yes. Just like Luka, Larry doesn’t beat you with athleticism, he beats you with talent and IQ.
Agreed.
I was a witness.. This generation just doesn't understand. Bird was and still is legendary. Ran the league for a decade.
You’re right we don’t I was born in 97. My step dad and his dad always talk about how good Larry was. My grandpa would always say was good too. I actually have Larry’s autograph, I’m from Indiana and my uncle actually got it for me at a Pacers game he wrote it on a Pacers ticket
I was born in 74! Ran the league for a decade?? I don't know about ALL that!!🤔🤔💭💭🏳️🆘💯
I was born in ‘72
I do know about all that.
@@ezsmith3765 So he ran it huh? How? I understand the only player with 3 MVP's......but this same Bird referred to another player at the time as "God in basketball shoes!" Plus the other MJ (That being Magic Johnson!!) if I remember had 5 of them "Thangs" in the SAME DECADE that your claiming that Bird "ran?" C'mon maaaannnn........knock it off. Indeed Bird was great BUT I respectfully disagree that he "ran" anything.👎🏿🏁💯
I got to only watch the very tail end of his career and was young then. But even today my father talks about how good he was and of coarse what him and magic did for the NBA. But 1 think he mentions all the time that he loved was the respect larry and irving had for each other. Larry is one of few that calls him irving compared to magic most of the time. They really became true great friends. RESPECT
Ive said it before and ill say it again, these are the best documentaries on UA-cam. Theyre the best anything on UA-cam, any channel, any genre.
Seconded ✋️

Larry Bird and Joe Vincent - two of my favorites.
An absolute MOVIE each time out!
I'm a native New Yorker....
Larry Bird is the reason why I'm not a NY KNICKS FAN.

The fact nobody ever put him in their top 10 lists is crazy to me
They do
@@ko-rp7ge I never see his name in any Top 10 list. Recently ive seen Kobe slide off peoples Top 10 also, which is completely absurd
Reason is simple. Disney's ESPN is fake journalism that is directly in bed with certain sports leagues and conferences (Disney played a big part in creating the SEC juggernaut in college football and that was because conferences like the Big 10 created their own network). They promote someone in every league or conference they own as the "GOAT" to market their current product. Same goes for FOX. They market what they televise. The only reason MJ is still relevant is his brand which they can also profit off of. Wilt, Bird, Magic, Karrem have no real brand.
Want it to change? Unsub from ESPN. Cancel Hulu. If you HAVE to see a certain game go to a sports bar. Maybe they will find some ethics and truth with enough financial losses.
@@DoNotReanimate He lost 1 game in the playoffs to Jordan but went on to win the series 4 - 1. I believe his record against Jordan is 12 - 1, but that may be off by one or two im not sure

Larry Bird deserves a movie, thank you Joseph Vincent for another banger video. Nobody does it better, nobody!!!!
The ppl that hate on bird are hilarious... you realize hes arguably top 5 ALL TIME right? The lack of respect he gets from some ppl is insane..

Was about damn time Mr. Joseph Vincent! Appreciate your work!
He just plays the game the right way
A beast.
Larry FUCKING LEGEND Bird is the greatest player of all time
Let's just ignore the fact that Dr.J. past his prime, schooled the rookie Bird in the 79/80 playoffs. The video doesn't mention it. Let's ignore the fact that Dr. J was 2-1 against Bird in the playoffs when the Sixers were his team. Let's ignore the fact that Bird's team was the defending champions and heavy favorites when they lost to the Sixers in the 82 playoffs.
Larry can be the second best.
He´s a Legend! thx Joe
I saw him play his last game and was given a hardcopy Celtics 100 years autograph of Bird on the inside woth the two tickets. It is still one of my favorite sports memories ❤️
Hand written autograph?
@@Cereal_Killer007 yes
@@atlasmasterdmind4070 Larry Bird sat down and put his signature on 10,000 cards? If thats true then thats more impressive than anything he ever did on a basketball court. That would take a entire month of your time just about
@@Cereal_Killer007what?😅 A signature takes all of 5-6 seconds. Bird probably knocked out 10,000 in a day lmao
@@poindextertunes Okay, 6 seconds per signature, and assuming there was 10k people attending that game ,thats 60k seconds, which is 17 hours roughly. So it would be possible in 24 hours, but realistically it probably took him 2 days. It still woulda took me a month though. 🤣
As a Seattle Super Sonics fan all I can say is.
When Larry Bird retired, I held a kegger. I invited about a dozen friends.....we had to get a second keg as over 100 people showed up.
Larry was an assassin, a killer of souls. I'm telling the young gen.....even if your team was up by 9 in 6 seconds left....It was NOT over.
Larry was a killer. for sure. One of the most feared , all time players. Teams and cities dreaded his arrival.
I did. This is respect from a rival fan. I can't tell you how many times I cursed the name of Larry Bird.
I am from NY and went to Boston U played b-ball from 80-84. I was a big Dr J fan so I was a Sixers fan at the time and hated the Celtics. But living in Boston I got to see a lot of Larry’s games.
I’ve said it for years and I’ll say it for the rest of my life…. For a period of around 7-8 years from about 1981- 1988, Larry Bird played the best all around basketball in the history of the game. That includes MJ, Lebron, Magic, Wilt … whoever.
Scoring, rebounding, passing, leadership, team defense, toughness, clutch play and winning. He was incredible.
That brother was gifted, but he had a work ethic, too (from what I have heard).
Best player "EVER" in my book. Period 🏀 🐐
The title of this masterpiece says it all,Larry LEGEND!One of the GOATS!

Wow. Nice to see Bird get the JV treatment. Thanks!
Mr. Clutch. My GOAT and childhood hero. As a kid, it was the incredible skill he had. Any hand or distance. Better rebounder than Patrick Ewing. Just as good a passer as Magic - just not that fancy. Incapable of giving up. Lifted his teammates into the HoF.
Later I learned he was also announcing all this sh*t to the competition: "Two dribbles, to the left, off the glass" Playing a game left-handed out of boredom.
Quick reminder: He was an All Star in his rookie season. And 4th in MVP-voting, which would also be his worst position for the next 8 years: 2nd,2nd,2nd,1st,1st,1st,2nd,and 2nd
Thanks for that great video!
Sir, you make the best and most consistent quality sports documentaries on the entire platform. Preparing to enjoy your vids is just like prepping myself to enjoy a movie cuz i know you only produce bangers with your researched and professionally compiled performance montages with your iconic voice and commentary in the background. Truly timeless.
We all fans, (me especially 😁) would be very grateful if you Mr Vincent would take the time and make documentaries on the following personalities in the future 🙏🏽 -
- The greatest power forward of all time and also arguably the greatest defensive player of all time, a true team-playing basketball superstar who didn't want the stardom, mastered and executed the fundamentals such that he was named after them, a savant who was hardly excited or depressed, a case can be made for him to be the greatest basketball player ever, and my personal number 1 favorite player of all time, Tim Duncan.
- The greatest rebounder of all time, and also has a good case for being considered the greatest defensive player of all time, there was and never will be anyone like him On or Off the court, he embodied social media and news trivia before smartphones and Instagram was a thing, Jordan personally asked for him to be on their team and even dragged his drunk ass from bed while Carmen Electra was in the room when he left for a two days vacation, a lockdown specialist who'd regularly clamp Shaq down and was a hidden genius at understanding and exploiting the mechanics and dynamics of a ball in motion, on the ground or in the air, and gifted with never ending stamina and endurance, the man who made me interested in NBA in the first place, Dennis Rodman.
- Another defensive gem who's considered to be the greatest undrafted NBA player of all time, and has the credentials to prove that he should be the greatest defensive player of all time by being the 4 time DPOY and tied with Mutombo in that accomplishment, considered by many to be the physically strongest or at least the most sturdiest NBA player ever and also one of the most intimidating, his involvement snowball-effected the darkest event in NBA history which is remembered as the Malice In The Palace, and was a crucial piece in the victory of the most underrated NBA championship win by the Detroit Pistons in 2004, Ben Wallace.
In my opinion one of the top 5 greatest of all time. He and Magic saved the league, and helped bring it to new heights.
a brother here who didnt mind wearing a Bird jersey in public , & Im from Detroit! Greatness is greatness!
Larry Bird had that winning mentality. Fucking legend! 👍🏼

Larry Legend was a savage on the court!
Joseph Vincent? You've done it again... and again... and again, and I cannot thank you enough, because as a young athletic prodigy that *DIDN'T* make it? You remind me that I still had the things that make people great. Thank you so much my man. 🙏
The one thing i saw was he returned home not because he was home sick from college but because he and his family didnt have the money at that time to support him. Everything else is 👌

I will take the three straight MVP winner every day over Dr. J. Not even close. Bird is the #1 or #2 small forward of all-time whereas Dr. J is probably the #5 or #6 of all-time small forward. Dr. J is not in the same category as Larry Bird. These Sixers fans don't have a clue!!!
Imagine watching your team win the finals, and you get to storm the court and hug the players!! What a time to be a fan. You’d get hit with Edison’s medicine so fast if you tried that today haha
Very Well Done Thank You For Putting This Together. "There's Never Going To Be Another Larry Legend".
Outstanding video. Said it a thousand times Larry is the greatest small forward of all time. Those who disagree I got to ask did you actually see him play outside the limited video on him? He cooked everybody whenever he wanted and was a no nonsense cold blooded killer
fully agree people that think larry bird would be "mid" in this day and age are just plain idiots.
Larry would average 60 in today’s NBA with how soft they play on defense. The 80’s was tough. Name one time you’ve seen a star player like LeBron diving on the floor for a loose ball in today’s NBA. They so princess these days.

Man did I take those days growing up in the 80's watching Bird for granted. SMH
There is not a player in the world today that could come close to what Larry Bird brought to the game, he gave everything he had to the game of basketball. He was the kind of man who could dig really deep when it counted, and even deeper when it was impossible. Watching Larry play basketball was like watching a magician on the level of someone like Houdini performed magic tricks, it was magical. I don’t think there’s really any other way to put it.

Larry Bird is one of the most talented, versatile scorers that the NBA has ever seen. He also was talking trash too. He also has a friendship with Magic Johnson since the two played against each other in college. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest basketball players of all time. He is the only player in NBA history to be named Rookie of the Year, Most Valuable Player, Finals MVP, All-Star MVP, Coach of the Year, and Executive of the Year. Wow!!! That’s impressive for him!!!🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀

I am a born and raised die hard lifetime Laker fan from Los Angeles California and I absolutely love and admire and respect Larry Bird. That's really saying something I'm telling you. Magic was my first ever favorite NBA player...second was Eddie Jones...and then soon as Kobe Bryant came to the Lakers it was him. Haven't had a favorite player on the Lakers since.
