I would definitely recommend (once you're done with Seventeen), to try listening to some Day6 songs (Zombie, Shoot Me, Congratulations, You Were Beautiful, etc). They're a band so they aren't your conventional loop group

This MV intends to address the integration of AI technology in art, portraying a symbolic 'battle’ between SEVENTEEN and AI and sending a message on who really controls today's world, "who is the maestro?"

Woozi (their main writer/producer and the member in the mv with the long blonde hair) said that maestro contains parts from all of their title tracks over the last nine years.
You should definitely check out don’t wanna cry, fear, home;run, falling flower, getting closer, hot (although you literally can’t go wrong with any seventeen song)
I love the fact that this MV is basically a call out to all the people who uses AI to create "art" and think they can call themselves "artists" for that. If you watch their first teaser for this MV they say "In a world where everything can be created with AI, who is the real MAESTRO?" And personally I think it's genius and bold.

Seventeen discography is whole roller-coaster of amazing songs , well its there anthology album so don't get confused with huge number of songs included in this album,
Maestro, Lalali, Spell, and Cheers to you are new ones while other are collection of title tracks of whole albums they release till now ( korean + korean version of Japanese release)
They will also release mv of lalali, spell & cheers to youth in May, these three songs are there unit song, as seventeen include three units: hip-hop unit, performance unit & vocal unit.😊

SEVENTEEN are one of if not the most versatile group out there where they are not afraid to experiment and try out new genres and concepts in their discography, spoken from someone who has been a fan of KPOP for over a decade and has been a CARAT (SEVENTEEN's fandom name) since their debut. What makes it more impressive is that they are known to be self-producing idols where the entirety of their music is what they make all on their own. Woozi (the person with the long blonde hair) is known to be their producer and creates their music (sometimes for other groups too) and the Hoshi (silver hair) creates all of their choreography, other members also participte in the making of their music too.
The current album is like an anthology album where it contains a good amount of SEVENTEEN's previous songs from other albums so it would be a good chance for you to listen to them and help get to know them musically.
I also agree with the majority of the comments stating to watch DINGO Killing Voice as you would be able to hear them sing live as well as listen to some of their other B-side tracks where they again show different concepts and genres in their music.

btw, did you know that Seventeen are called "Kings of Synchronization" as all of them are good dancers and are always in sync whenever performing + Woozi (the blond guy who plays the piano) is their main producer. All 13 members are heavily involved in songwriting and choreographing, establishing a strong reputation as "Self-Producing K-pop idols". They're also branded as the "Kpop Performance Powerhouse", the "Million Seller", "Kings of Synchronization" and "Variety Kings" All members can dance, sing and rap they're INSANE! they're known for their excellent vocal and dance skills, particularly their impressive synchronization and detailed choreography!
Literally, their entire discography is packed with hit after hit, making it impossible to choose just one song to recommend🔥🔥🔥
Seventeen are consists of 13 members distributed into 3 units (Hip-hop, Vocal, Performance), and each unit has its own leader.
1- Hip-Hop(rappers) unit has 4 members.
2- Vocal(singers) unit has 5 members.
3- Performance(Dancers/choreographers) unit has 4 members.
Though all 13 members can sing, dance, and rap but they prefer the unit system so that each member has an area of expertise!
the album is actually an anthology album of their past songs, although there are 3 new songs on the album in addition to maestro! the other 3 songs will have music videos released in the coming weeks so keep an eye out for those!
in the meantime I recommend you check out god of music. completely different vibe from super and maestro, but I believe the MV was made by the same production company that did maestro so you know it's good. and the song is one of my favorites from seventeen, coming from someone who's been a fan of theirs for 7 years!

SEVENTEEN REALLY KILLED IT
My first SVT song was Don't Wanna Cry. As to a song with great lyrics about how imprtant music is would be the prior release God Of Music
Love that you pointed out the lyrics! part of the meaning of this song is them trying to criticize ai being used into creating music and seventeen is basically saying we can create/produce our own sound and music; change up the tempo, rhythm and beat whenever and however we want, without the use of ai. since ai has been taking over and everyone has been using that technology.
I love how Seventeen really pays attention to details. Almost everything from the MV and the production means something.

i really recommend watching "f*ck my life"!! its personally my favourite song from them and it kind of helped me to go through some hard times. also the music video has references to one of my most loved film "the truman show"

my first song from SVT is HOT. thats when i fell into their rabbit hole. i've only been stanning 2nd generations groups for 10+ years until they come into my life. SVT's Killing Voice would be a good sneak peak for you, but my top5 songs from them are HOT, Rock With You, Don't Wanna Cry, Ready To Love and Fear. but to be fair they never really disappoints

"Seventeen Killing Voice" is recommended because you can hear snippets of their other songs and their vocals are so good.
I think the first song by seventeen that I heard in full was Aju Nice, but overall my favorite MV probably between Fear, Super, and Hot, but my favorite Seventeen song in general is I Don't Know (so underrated, but so good, it doesn't have an MV though)

Jesus i remember watching Seventeen debut with Adore U and seeing how far they have gotten. Kinda crazy
you should know that the album Maestro is the title track for is a best of album, so other than Maestro, they have 3 new songs by each of seventeen's sub-units (performance unit, vocal unit, and hip hop unit). the rest of the songs are re-releases of their previous title tracks as well as korean versions of all of their japanese releases. so the album is a good overview of their 9 years of musical history

The first i heard from Svt is Hot. But i became a full pledged carat during Super, so it became my favorite among title tracks. With B-Sides, I love Kidult so so much. It became my ultimate comfort song. All that aside seventeen discographies are always amazing. Every song have their own charms.
The concept is seventeen vs AI, in this era of AI, nothing can surpass human talents and seventeen are the real maestros that can never be replaced by AI

First Seventeen song for me was “아주 Nice.” Favourite is a tough toss between “Home Run” & “Rock With You” (yes there’s a rock version). But my fave live in person was “Hot.”

If you want to check out new artist I would highly recommend Shinee. They debuted in 2008 (2nd gen) and are considered legends in Kpop. Numerous idols have pointed them as their role models (inclding Seventeen's Hoshi) and they have a nickname 'Princes of KPOP'.
Shinee's most recent comeback was 'Hard' but if you want to see older Kpop songs I would recommend Replay (considered as one of the best debuts of Kpop), Lucifer (dance practice for Lucifer started the trend for recording dance practices in Kpop), Ring Ding Dong (song that is banned each year by goverment during exam period beacuse it is too addictive) or View (song that introduced House into Kpop).
Also if you want real OG kpop choreography: Infinite are the original "synchronised kings". They are real kpop, and by that I don't mean that the groups you've checked out aren't kpop, but that Infinite were one of the last groups that kept and epitomised the kpop vibe as it was, although some still exist that have the OG Kpop vibe but are overlooked because that style isn't popular anymore. You should check out their MVs for The Chaser (still known as one of the greatest kpop songs of all time), Before the Dawn (a lot heavier, I think you'd like this), Last Romeo (one of the most kpop songs ever) and The Eye (also darker and a bit heavier). An early 2010s group that are still famed for their choreography.
And that's without getting into the actual OG Kpop.

The first song I ever heard by them was in early 2019 called CLAP. I sooooo regret not looking into them more then because it was such a fun song and a creative video. But by the following year I was following them avidly. Some of my favorites that I recommend would be HOME RUN, Getting Closer, Aju Nice, Hot, and Rock With You. For other content, Dingo Killing voice is amazing and I recommend extended guides on the group since it lets you learn more about them
I also think you should check out ATEEZ (as a metalhead, I think you'll appreciate Guerilla). Their debut song pirate king is great and BOUNCY and Halazia are awesome.
Kiss of Life and GIDLE are girl groups that are definitely worth checking out

I don't know if you find it super important to understand the songs, but its really not important. As someone who understands a lot of Korean (studied it at uni), I genuinely don't pay attention to the lyrics of a kpop song unless it's a ballad, it's all vibes for me. Sure, rap songs from kpop groups you want the translations to, but songs like this? It's all about the vibes. I recommend watching and listening first and then if the lyrics are important to you, doing a second run through whilst reading the lyrics. Most people who love kpop have no idea what they're singing about when they first hear a song, it's all about sound and dance.
