- I used LIVE SHRIMP to Catch BIG Mangrove Snapper
In this episode I went out kayak fishing around Mobile Bay for Mangrove Snapper and Sheepshead. The bait I used for these fish is live shrimp and once we found a pattern we started catching mangrove snapper after Mangrove snapper! Mangrove snapper also known as Grey Snapper or Black Snapper love eating shrimp and live in these areas year round. Watch as we catch these fish and have a catch and cook!!

Hello, I like your videos, they are very emotional and educational to learn, I am Cuban and I like to fish with my husband on the weekends, I like that you show the lures and explain your goals. Keep it up every now and then I check the bell
Thank you!!
👍👍👍👍👍great 🎣video catch and cook be watching for the next one.
Pilchards, threadfin herring, small finger mullet and shrimp
Good one, brother. Open that pool!
Soon lol
Nice video, I am kinda leary of fishing around power plants but who knows what water is good anymore, Get you some greenbacks or whatever is local around there for some larger mango's.
Thanks man, I’m definitely going to try some mullet or bull minnows.
With saltwater and current and tides I don't give an industrial complex much thought on keeping fish. Most of the fish I keep come from a very busy port wall which is a highly industrial area. But there is plenty of current and tidal action to keep contaminants from building up. I'd think twice if the water was stagnant in the area I was fishing. Love the catch, clean, cooks and the content in general! Tight Lines!
Thanks brother!! I never worry to much about but usually get comments about it lol
Mangrove ceviche is a great recipe to try sometime. One of my favorite.
🙌 I’ll definitely try it!
Nothing better than a fish fry with good people who bring a dish along ! I recognize that bat cave from your buddy's channel.
No doubt!! It’s a great spot lol
Nice catch and cook Nate! 👊🏽
Thank you!!
One of the easiest fish to filet and best fish to eat hands down
No doubt!
Another Killer Video Brother ! I have been fishing industrial areas for about 45 years over here on the coast of Texas and Louisiana, I do not give much thought about the cleanliness of the water. That’s because of the currents and tides,,, have been catching and keeping legal redfish, flounder, speckled trout and sheepshead for a long time !!! Please Keep The AWESOME VIDEOS coming our way !!!!!!!!
Heck yeah thanks brother!!
Living in NC, most fresh water isn’t clear but he fish are fine, so long as there aren’t any industrial pollution. I would eat the fish if it is just muddy.
Tides always have the water turning over and should keep water clean. In my opinion the industrial areas tend to appear less clean because the water ain’t as clear but I think it’s because the industrial areas are usually on bayous with muddy bottoms that would have dirty water even if the industrial area was there or not. Also, really small pinfish and LYs are the best inshore black snapper baits.
Bat cave is right😂😂. Great video my friend. Tight lines buddy
😂 it’s a little spooky traveling through there lol
The mangroves are so good fried whole! Good video!
I’ll have to cook them that way next time
fun watching you
Thank you!!
Just kidding Nate, please keep those videos coming, cause a disabled veteran like myself that can't/won't go fishing cause his caregivers wife can't go fishing with him cause he got a twisted ankle, well videos like this just encourage me to go out fishing.
Thank you bro, really, you do make a big difference on people like.
You bet and thank you for your service!
You are the best!! Thank you
I don’t know about that lol, thank you!!
I need to catch some this weekend
🙌
I like using small pins and white bait for mangroves
I’ll have to try some pin fish!
Great video!
Thank you!!
Looks like a great day of fishing!
Not a bad one at all!
Great video. Learning a lot from you. I’ll take your advice and grab that rod. Seems very versatile.
Thank you!!
Thank you for the griddle cook.
🙌
3:49 Yes, I've eaten fish from the Detroit River with no health issues. 😊
🙌 right on lol I never let it bother me but I do get those comments from time to time lol
@@southernsalt its the "pussification" of millenials on down.
You ain’t kidding, cap! Chef Paul P’s is THE best seasoning for seafood aand chicken!
Hey as long as it’s saltwater and tidal eat them fish up!!!
That’s right!
Awesome video Nate. I'm gonna have to hit that bat cave...looks like the perfect fish habitat. You have a Sord code?
There’s a ton of fish there for sure! The link in the description will take you to their page but I don’t have a discount code.
2:02 Please film that offshore trip. I'd like to see what eats that croaker.😮
You bet!!
I've gotten some monsters on bull minnows
Nice!!
I fish in an industrial area in Galveston Texas. it’s the channel between Galveston and pelican island. That’s about the only area I will keep fish. No way I would in the Houston complex like Buffalo bayou. Way too much industrial waste. I get that fish move from location to location but I’m not eating anything out of Houston.
hey them teeth will get your finger to. got me one time i wont do dat again. dam good eating fish.
4:54 that was an important verbal pause you put there.
I plucked 4 crappie out of a roadside ditch last night and am frying them up tonight if that answers your question. The toxins we should be concerned about are mercury in big game fish, but other than that I don't bother with it.
One of these days we’re going to go crappie fishing lol
Nate, the fish and rice looked delicious. Question for you, do you spool all your inshore reels with 20lb. braid ?
Thanks man! I spool everything with 20 except for my dedicated trout setups which I use 15 on
@@southernsalt Thank you 😊
Nate are mangrove and lane snappers fast growers ? What makes red snappers so special ? Seems like everyone prefers the meat from Mangrove and Lanes.
Honestly I think it’s mainly because red snapper are whole lot easier to catch especially the offshore mangrove, they are pretty finicky
As long as the fish don’t glow in the dark they should be safe to eat. 😂
😂
I catch to eat
I don't really have a choice... I fish the Mississippi River up here in Missouri. We just limit how much fish we eat that we catch out of that dirty river...
Right on!!
Hey man, did you ask Batman permission to fish on his 🦇 Bat cave?
😂
clean water dirty water it doesnt matter, fish roam around so even in the clean water he may have came from dirty water, and mangroves will steal the bait in a heartbeat
I wouldn't eat them regularly.
Nope. Would not eat those fish. Usually the bottoms are high in heavy metals and carcinogens. Try using squid when loosing your bait a lot.
I eat them all 😋
Right on!!
