Check out the RARE first episode in it's FULL glory!
The Ms. Fortune Story/Mississippi Madness/Trucknapper Caper/Pitfall's Panda Puzzle
In the Donkey Kong segment, "Mississippi Madness", the chase for the big ape Donkey Kong leads Mario and Pauline down south.

I Could Imagine It Being Reran On Disney Channel In 1993 For The 10TH Anniversary Of This Show...
@@ThePopCulturePodcast Sorry for the late response, but You're welcome.
No Qbert?
Not yet--it wasn't in the lineup, at first.
Man, it's one thing to see the intro and pretty much the same episode from years back. But the first full episode of this show 5 years back is quite a discovery if you ask me.
Thanks for archiving something that would have been lost to time if you ask me.
And here We go Everybody It's Saturday SuperCade Show! 🤗 The 1980's are forever ♥.
Yea it is amazing
Heh, I love the theme song, the episodes are great (can be hit and miss, I don't know, good old classic Hannah Barbara type of cartoons), and great voice acting and classic good vs. evil as always.
I was taking a peek at Peter Cullen's filmography cause I was curious about his other works besides Optimus Prime and Eeyore. Lo and behold, he voiced Mario in the Donkey Kong segment. While it doesn't say who he voiced, he's at least credited here at 48:01
He's the first voice actor to ever play Mario in animation, but Mario here is a very different character from what he'd become.
For that very reason, I wore my Mario costume when I met Peter Cullen last year and had a Donkey Kong plushy with me. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to make it through his line, which I really wanted to do, as I wanted to bring up Saturday Supercade and see how many people bring it up.
@@zazelbyActually, I think someone may have beaten him to it, depending on when the Donkey Kong cereal commercials released. That’s the only thing Mario related that would have predated this.
@@ThunderFist1978 There was a Donkey Kong comic-and-album (Donkey Kong Goes Home, Kidstuff Records) that predates the cartoon by a few months. It's the first time Mario was ever voiced, and the first time that Mario has a stereotypical Italian accent. (He's the owner of a pizza place, not a carpenter, and Pauline is one of his delivery drivers. He wouldn't become a plumber until Mario Bros)
Classic! Unlike content farm animations now being made nowadays, This one is PURE GOLD.
This was worth it, just for the intro ! Awesome . Thanks for uploading .
1980s Saturday mornings specials is right there where it's at...the Retro.
Maybe Craig Ruby and Kevin Spears can make some sort of agreement with Shout Factory to possibly get Saturday Supercade released on DVD in its entirety, but it's a long shot, because parts of the program are owned by NBC Universal, Sony Pictures Animation, Nintendo Industries, etc., so Shout Factory would have to get clearances from the respective property owners!!!
5:47 you mean Ken Ruby & Joe Spears.
@@taureanmay7480 Ken and Joe died some time back. Craig and Kevin are their sons and now own the company (or at least the rights to a lot of their productions).
i'd like a full hd version of the theme song variation at 1:06, too bad most of this show is lost media
14:03 Mario's first voice.
Saturday 9.17.1983!
It's SATURDAY SUPERCADE!
My man QBert!
my man qbert
Still the best videogame cartoon ever produced. ;)
Out of all the Saturday Supercade cartoons, Qbert stole the show. ;)
Very cool
0:46 Diddy kong? (Edit: It's not him, But the younger version of the donkey kong from the country game)
Weirder than that... Donkey Kong Jr in this show is the current Donkey Kong's *father,* since Cranky Kong, the original Donkey Kong, is the current Donkey Kong's grandfather.
Hah, i never knew Frogger had a cartoon 😂
I first came across this show through looking up 1980s intros back in October/November 2008, after re-discovering Back To The Future, and that's how the 1980s fanatic and into the decades like the 1990s, 1970s, 1960s, 1950s and before became to me.
Originally aired on CBS.
awesome dude
It says "Raiders Of The Lost Shark," here--not "Pitfall's Panda Puzzle!"
Hmmmm----I must have missed this one on Saturday morning. If it was during the early to mid '80s, I was probably working on Saturdays by that time.
Ah, well---there's a reason for everything.
At 17:10, it looks like Donkey Kong's about to take a dump.
So----where's Luigi? (Or had he not been invented yet?)
Yeah, Luigi was created the same year this aired (and given animation lead times, that means this was produced before). Stanley the Bugman from the mostly-forgotten Donkey Kong 3 makes one appearance in one episode, though - "Greenhouse Gorilla".
18:50 American South accent
never see that coming
nice
I bet the reboot series will have Donkey Kong country, spyro the dragon, yoshi, super Mario land, shantae and ecco the dolphin
I doubt Mario, Donkey Kong Country, and Yoshi would be allowed seeing how Nintendo is overprotective of their IPs nowadays.

Why it's not on DVD?
Licensing
Say what ?
Some characters in this series don't have an home video deal with Turner/Warner Bros to fully release the series. Qbert for example he's with Sony.

Exactly
Frogger - Konami Corporation
Donkey Kong - Nintendo of America
Pitfall - Activision Blizzard
@@stephenholloway6893
Interestingly, Qbert's complete set was released on DVD a few years back.
I wondered why, but bought it through Amazon.
Then when it arrived, I saw why: on the case it reads, "As seen in the movie Pixels".
👍👍👍👍😄😄😄💯💯💯💯
😍😍😍
See I remember now... They gave "Donkey Kong Jr." a frickin' catch-phrase... that's ruined it for me. That's what detached me from this. Still great memories (that they gave an effort) but.. wasn't suprised to see the show dissappear so quickly from the Saturday Morning line-up.
It lasted two full seasons (with new episodes being made for the second season), which is a decent run for a Saturday morning cartoon in the 1980s. Most ran only one season or showed nothing but reruns for their second season.
Definitely scrappy Doo syndrome
@@mangoblade3877
I didn't find Junior annoying like Scrappy, personally. He was okay.
Scrappy, on the other hand, I avoided like the plague - as did the rest of the planet.
That's not the first episode.
Yes it is. Check the 1983 season schedule for the Saturday SuperCade.
