    Used your vid to install my gas burner. Worked like a charm! Thanks for the instructions :-)

    I am so glad you took the time to do this video and share your success. My wife probably thinks I really don't like my 2021 Father's present. That will change now, thanks to you. I just ordered the gas burner from Amazon 10 minutes ago. It will be delivered Monday.
    Perhaps you have a suggestion or a solution for my other Ooni related issue. My my grill island/patio roof is made of corrugated plastic panels and the temperature of the exhaust from the chimney is too high for comfort. I have considered various diverters and chimney "add-ons", but nothing that looks very good. One option I considered was a 45° bend of vent pipe to divert the heat out... anyway diatribe over. Thanks again!

      I have one now and it is magnetic. However, I am not sure the gap created by the magnets would be a good thing.

      I wonder if you could get a cap that fits that diffuses the heat? Something along these lines (although I haven’t measured the pipe so I doubt this one would fit) www.acehardware.com/departments/heating-and-cooling/chimney-and-flue/stove-pipe-caps/43355?store=05349&gbraid=0AAAAADtqLJEXHlLYp9reWPW1ComggUqAI&gbraid=0AAAAADtqLJEXHlLYp9reWPW1ComggUqAI&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIjamO2ojw_gIVQW1vBB24SQcFEAQYDCABEgKpj_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

    Such a great video that answers all the questions I had. I've cooked upwards of 20 pizzas on my Fyra in one evening with pellets but it was one of the most stressful evenings I can remember 😅.
    Do you measure the stone temperature? What are you seeing in the middle or closer to the door using the gas burner?

    Great video, I'd be really careful keeping that propane bottle so close to the oven in case of a gas leak, tank should be lower than oven as propane is heavier than air, unlike natural gas.

      Good call out. This was only placed there for the demo, otherwise it’s in the bottom shelf of the Ooni stainless steel outdoor stand that you can purchase.

    Good instruction. I would not be concerned over the door causing a hazard because the 2 vent stacks are more than adequate. No more of a hazard than a gas grill lid.

    If you buy the ooni gas conversion no drilling needed. It slides in and re-screws into the unit. Took my 5 minutes to convert it over. Easy peezy. Worth the extra money to have an exclusive OONI oven even though I paid $40.00 more for the easy fit.

      Don't think this comment applies to the Ooni Friya but the Ooni Karu. There's no Ooni Friya conversion kit. Either way, the one in the video should work.

    Very helpful video. My unit however went out after 5 minutes. Then very hard to restart. Door was removed so that’s not the issue. I repeated the test. Hard to start, then went out on mid range after 2-3 minutes as if a bad thermocouple. Returning and may try another one.

    How is the taste compared to cooking with pellets?
    I have Fyra 12 but I just ordered Koda 12 hoping it's less hassle keeping the oven in perfect temp but now my worry is that I will lose all that smoky wood flavor and slightly burned edges when cooking with gas.

    • @allyourtechai
      @allyourtechai  3 дні тому

      You definitely still get the char on the edges, but you do lose some of the smoke. Not enough to make a huge difference though. I was pleasantly surprised. My primary reason for going with wood was the taste, but this was so much easier that it made up for any loss in flavor.

      I was just looking on the Ooni site. They were very specific about “only for the karu.” Yeah, right. I’m buying this sucker tonight! If, for some reason, I want to cook pizzas at the park I’ll use the pellets. And on that note, they also say that you can’t use hardwood or charcoal because of the ash receptacle. I’m going to put that one to the test too.
