As an I.C. I would have asked for 8 alarms, and had all incoming apparatus drive around an area a half-mile radius, checking neighbourhoods for spot fires

Out of the ashes a phoenix is rising. Marcal is rebuilding at an aggressive rate on this very site. This is an anchor company for this city and I am so glad they are renewing their place in this city.

Valiant effort, but in a situation like this you simply pray for the firefighters, employees and everyone impacted. Thank you all for your efforts.

I really like the comentary the sound of that guys voice, makes it exciting remember its not a funeral your going to here sound an noise, i like the talking. Someday you will be like grandpa you wont here good any way. Its not easy standing there in the bitter cold and dealing with municipal services.

That fire propagated upwind, through a fire wall, until it found the main building.

This is a "FIRE " and no mistake Great filming so nice to hear the calm controllers. Obviously the only safe way to work this job is with aeirial appliances backed up by ground crews. Well done people Thank you for your hard work and dedication. Brian/ NZ

It's so sad to see such a big part of history go up in flames like that. So many people are out of work because of this fire, I will be Praying for all them. To the Firefighter's, you did your best, and I appreciate all of your efforts to get the fire under control. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

I remember even as a kid seeing the Marcal Sign. Later living in Elmwood Park it was a part of the scenery. The road went around the plant. The 500 people who lost their jobs. There are companies reaching out to them. There is a job fair.

I used to deliver loads of paper there i hated that shitty security staff sign you in and make you wait 6 hours to get unloaded even when there are empty doors...

A hundred years ago, a fire like this would have made it all the way to the Hudson.

Damn what an inferno!! The fire seemed to spread back against the wind! That main building w/the Marcal sign was well back from the initial fireground.

I also wonder if they had pre-plans for this building, it’s looking a hell of a lot bigger than I though.
