Caught my first Bowfin using a Turbo Fatty. ✊ Cool Carolina rig tip! Buck Perry taught me that fish beyond 10 ft tend to orient to bottom so I’ve been pulling the ol’ ball & chain. Will give the TF’s a try on it.
@@zachg5356 For me the swim jig really excels when I'm around both wood and grass. But also it comes through thicker grass than a chatterbait and you can use heavier rod/line than you can with a swimming worm and you'll usually get a little bigger average fish
Sweet, just picked up a few packs of these to try out, first thing I thought of was a chatterbait trailer, last summer was using the Fatty Z on a swinghead and caught a few good ones, probably will try them on that too
I cut off the tail and it is now a fat senko. That is absolute killer in shallow water and also like to punch with this too got lots of bites with it that way as well
Have you had any trouble getting good hooksets when skin-hooking the point of an EWG hook into Elaztech? I just bought some Goat Toadz but haven’t tried them out yet. I saw a video where Seth Feider said he prefers straight shank hooks with Elaztech for this very reason. Because the material is so stretchy, it seems like it won’t pop free from a skin-hook like a plastisol bait. I’m curious what your experience has been. Thanks!
This is a great question, so I might do a video to go more in-depth, but the short answer is that I really don’t have any issues with the point coming through ElaZtech. However, I don’t think skin-hooking is a good idea with ElaZtech because it is so stretchy and the hook point comes out when you don’t want it to. I actually keep the hook point in the center of a bait. Traditional plastics you need to bring the hook to the surface and skin hook to keep it from balling up, but ElaZtech I can put the hook point in the thickest part of the bait and because it is so soft I get betting hooking percentages that way.

Great insights Miles! I will add this to my rigging lineup.
Will the jig skirt melt due to the Zman ElaZtech® plastic ?
Great question, I've not see long term contact, but brief contact has been fine.
@sonarfishing ?
Nice overview Miles. I bet this would be great on a Tokyo Rig, running it fast or wobble head jig.
Love that idea for the swim jig!
Speaking of the swim jig. When and where do you like those over just the swimming worm or chatterbait type deal?

Glad you like it!
Don't leave the ElaZtech® Turbo FattyZ in the jig while storing it for later. The FattyZ will probably melt the skirt.

They are pretty good as a Chatterbait trailer for sure!

Great video
Thank you!
I have a question i want to know if you can ask zman to make zinkers in the Merthiolate color
No they dont, but thats not a bad idea!
@@SonarFishing I was asking if you could ask zman to make one
Haven’t tried these but I use the fatty z on a Carolina rig with pretty good success
It’s a GREAT C-Rig bait!
Miles great info.
@SonarFishing I've yet to catch anything on the Turbo FattyZ and Chatterbaits any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated
What kind of places have you been fishing them?
@SonarFishing lakes, pond and rivers

I have NOT tried them yet Thanks Miles
Hope you like them
Does it float or sink
Due to the salt content, it sinks slowly
ripping them lips on a shakey head
