Good stuff! I was actually geeking out on cables yesterday. Making sure every emergency kit, travel kit, family vehicles etc.. has at least 1 micro, c, lightening cable in it. If you have excess cables make sure all your kits and vehicles are covered. I also use those velcro cable straps on every cable I own.
I applaud you good sir!!! I knew there were others who cared! Anyone who's not using this method or similar is committing electronics abuse, violating NFPA, countless electrical code violations, creating a community fire hazard, your abuse to electronics will bring about terminator. Urban Preppers work with cable organization is preventing judgment day!
This is definitely preparedness minded. You can only utilize your preps in an emergency if you can find them easily. Cables and chargers are an important component of every day and emergency use and need to be easily accessible.
My ocd friend. I learned from you how to mix that with what is not ocd friendly necessarily. Thank you for always being being true and not judgemental.
I can't wait to do this! I love organizing, and find you very inspiringwhen it comes to "hacks" of this nature. I use your clour coded pantry expiration stickers, and my parents now do, too. Thank you for making these videos.
Wow! That is AWESOME! It's crazy to know that other people from around the world use some of my organization hacks. The color coded pantry has been SO useful to my family!
Thank you SO much, PP! It's fun to get a little more organized, day by day. It's definitely more difficult when you have a family who doesn't follow the same organization rules. 😂
I believe everything thats usefull organisation is emergency prepardness - knowing what is where and how to get to it, is exactly that. And sometime, the emergency is just needing a cable.
Yes! Thanks for the ID tags. I have a bunch of individual keys (that I don't EDC) for random padlocks or instrument cases and other locks that *need* to be labeled.
Like the bag idea. I use clear plastic zip bags for wire, adapters, or charger groups. I also use wire ties from things like bread bags or hair bands (fabric and different colors) to tie down wire cords. I too use plastic containers to divide the groups. I just need to work on labels.
This is a very good solution. Expanding on my purse storage for USB cable/charger for a drawer! Will also work for car storage instead - where storage for my passenger's charging cords tends to be the floor...
I organized my cables by using a Cabelas bait binder. It has zippered pouches that enable me to keep my lightning cables in one pouch, usb-c in a separate pouch, and so on. The chargers fit in their own pouch. I like the small footprint.
Hello TUP much better than before like anything in preparedness , this is more ready to go. Yes I have organized cables too hopefully it don’t get meshed up I mean messed 😂
I don't know what you spent on mesh bags and colored tags but I'm glad it works for you. I just gather my cables and put them into toilet paper tubes and label the tube with a sharpie. I can create a fairly compact divided storage compartment by standing the tubes on end in a box. 5 tubes in a small flat rate box and 30 tubes or 6 small flat rate boxes in a medium flat rate box.
Great ideas, good to be prepared for those minor emergencies also…. Family member car breakdown, hospital trip, missing pet search ,etc - grab power bank and cable on the way out the door!
Did exactly this a week or so ago. I also found some cables, yeah more cables, that go from USB C to Lightning, USB C and USB Micro. I had to buy and adaptor to suit so I got a mains plug and Cig socket plug that have USB A and USB C. I can now use one cable and adaptor for the majority of what I charge and I can charge multiple things off my vehicle when camping. Eventually everything will go to USB C from what I've seen but for now my charging area is looking way better.
@@TheUrbanPrepper Your setup is better than mine as I only used plastic sandwich bags but seeing as it's only myself and she who must be obeyed it should work fine. I suspect that we both had the same problem for a long time eh?🤣🤣
Love mesh bags. I've used them for a few years by now. It was just hard to find them back then. I also use hook and loop cable ties for the long ones. I also have a bag for patch cables. Short ones that work well with power banks. Keep in mind you'll eventually end up with adapters, such as Garmin watch adapters and pucks and other watch charging cables and adapters. I'll go check if you have a link for those mesh bags now..
Nice video. Interesting idea with the bags. I use Velcro one wrap cable ties and wind the cables into “stick” like shapes probably not great for the cable pending them like that, but honestly i don’t care lol because rolling them up takes up way too much space when the cables are 6ft or above in length.
Dude what happened to you? I looked forward to every one of your videos. Now you’re someone I used to know. Please come back to making videos. I’ll watch them religiously…. Promise.
you never throw away cables, you never know when you need them. as an industrial automation engineer i needed at work a cable from 20 years ago, and i actually had it at home. never throw away cables
I only have one anker power brick which is 100 watts and have 3 type C and 1 Type A port, one 3 meter type C to type C cable and for backup 1 small (maybe 1.5 feet) type C to type C cable. larger cable is enough to charge my laptop, phones, airpods, flashlight and radio. that's it.
I’m surprised no one has featured the USB situation on any of the paranormal channels because we all know that USB cables and cables of all types have a mind of their own and when you’re not looking, they move around and tie up around each other. It’s darn creepy if you ask me.💀
Damn I hadn’t watched any of his videos in awhile and decided to check out the channel and now im sad that he hasnt uploaded in almost a year. I hope everythings ok and maybe we see nee videos soon
I have a challenge for you. Grab your Bible go from. The first page, the way to the last page. In your Bible, you are going to look for chapter 6 verse 1 through 4. And every chapter 6 through your whole bibread and tell me what story from every chapter 6 verse 1 through 4. Read all the way through from the first page. All the way to the last page in your Bible. That's a challenge for you and then tell me.What do you think on what you read
It's good, it's good! It right! 🔌 Thank you, as usual, Cliff, wish you all the best! 💯 Btw soon I'll be reading the EMF*D book, it seems interesting 📱📟🧲
Can we all have a moment for the most organized man in prepping! Cliff inspires me to do better 🙌
I really miss the regular videos. I hope someday this channel will continue producing these kind of valuable learning materials.
I just used ziploc bags from Ikea and labaled those. Simple but it works 👍
Nice!
I just used Ziploc bags for my cable drawer. Same concept for sure. I went the cheaper route though.
That's a good idea.. because you could put a label on the bag as well
Excellent!!

I use velcro wraps on the cords, adding labels for what it's for. I have a couple of Brother's label makers.
My ocd friend. I learned from you how to mix that with what is not ocd friendly necessarily. Thank you for always being being true and not judgemental.
I'm never going to do this but I like watching someone else resolve this issue instead.
Well.. at least they were all in one place. 🤣🤣
Thanks for the video

A definite game changer in the world of emergency prepping!!! 😅

Why RIP?

After all the hurricane events we need TUP.
Thanks! I will try this.😊
Cool. Keep me posted, Carolle!

Thanks for watching! I tried going with more of an OCD wrapping approach, but my family doesn't follow those kind of specs. :)
Great video on organizing cables
Thank you!
Wow. Great ideas, Cliff!
Thank you!
That was an awesome way to solve that problem with the USB cables and i agree it looked like a snake pit.
Thank you!

Good stuff, sir. I use 1-gallon Ziplock bags the same way you use those mesh bags. And then write on the Ziplock with a Sharpie.
You seem like the type to code for fun.
Clever idea TUP!
Thanks Mary!
I too was thinking about putting them in bags because of your snake analogy lol
Awesome! Great minds think alike, Jessica.
Nice! Thanks for the idea
I like it ! Thanks TUP
Thanks for watching, Rick!
Love it! 😌👍👍

Thanks Kevin!

I did the same with ziploc bags😉

You must be a single man with no wife cause women live throwing our stuff away!!! lol
Where's the new stuff? Miss this channel
I have also done this by putting each cable in it's own zip sandwich bag.
Good ideas.
Brilliant! 💙
For some reason, dashcams still use mini USB ports. I wonder if they're less prone to breaking or disconnecting.
Can you make a video on good prep books to have in one’s library. It’s been a long time
Genius!

Velcro wrap is your friend in this instance
It's MY friend but my family's enemy! 🤣

LMAO!!! Maybe on "Unsolved Mysteries"?
Snakes,I hate snakes! I bundled my cables, corraled my cables but a few still slither out. You can't be lazy about putting them away.

Hi Urban Prepper, wondering how are you doing? I hope you and your family are safe and thriving despite of the economy. Praying for you all.
Everything ok?
Looks like you aren't doing videos anymore
Man, I remember when you posted regularly. I miss that. Hope all is well with you and your family!
❤❤❤
I can tame my snakes I mean cables as have the battery daddy tamed my batteries
LOL!!! The Battery Daddy is AWESOME!
I use ziplock bags to separate my cables

The only good solution is magnetic cables.
