I haven't watched the NBA since the mid 90's and honestly was over the hype of professional athletes as a whole until MMA gained traction. I never really watched him play, however I did get to witness what a genuine and passionate being he was. The love he had for the game, his team, his fans, and his family was always shining from his eyes and smile. I sobbed like a baby when we heard the news. I'm welling up again typing this. For him to have such an impact on someone who prides themselves on disdaining celebrity worship says it all
What i got from this was to challenge yourself to be a better basketball player & there's always room for improvement even if it may seem as perfection. If you don't, you will fail. And he sees that when his shadow blocks his shot, so he picks himself up & keep pushing, & trying. At first you don't succeed, pick yourself up & try again
Just saying "Kobe Bryant" makes me feel like a star, you taught us lessons that will always live under your name. No one will ever take ur spot, Its yours and will always be. Words cant express how much we miss you. I got no more to say, but ill tell you more when we meet again on the other side. Thanks for reading the message i wrote for kobe, i hope it inspired you to change in what you do, like Kobe's words always did. R.I.P Legend
No, this is a reference to Kobe’s younger days, he played shadow basketball in Italy, becouse no Italians wanted to play basketball with him during recess. (They’d rather play soccer). (Shadow basketball is basketball against your shadow.)
i think he always played shadow basketball with himself during practise etc, and people do play basketball in Italy and Europe. ofc soccer is more popular but I think this is showcasing how he was his own biggest competition and always wanted to improve and get better and fear wouldn't stop him
I also disagree. This could be a couple things depending on what you think the shadow is. 1) It's Jordan. Kobe did say right when he got into the league that he wanted to be the greatest of all time. This could be a metaphor for how Kobe's insane amount of time practicing in the gym was him trying to get out of Jordan's shadow. 2. It's his own shadow. This could be a metaphor for him battling his personal demons on the court. When talking about how the "Black Mamba" came to be, he mentioned how at the time, he felt like he couldn't control anything else in his life; so much was going wrong. But basketball, how he plays, that he can control. 3. It's his own shadow, but it's something more simple. It's just Kobe trying to get past himself, be better than he was yesterday. So many people have stories about coming into the gym to start team practice, and Kobe's already there, before anyone else, working at his game.
@ Mr. Bananas I’m not going to disagree with you, becouse those are 3 very good reasons. I’m just saying what I know from Kobe’s biography. But is it possible for it to be all 4 of our reasons? Becouse we all have pretty good reasons here.
Kobe was unstoppable during his career that anyone playing against had already been defeated. The guy was a genius on court and rivals were shriveled up it isn’t funny. There were great players during his time but he outshined them all, he was his own enemy, only he can defeat himself. Amazing animation of the great baller Bryant who will forever be cemented as one of the greatest players ever to play the game. Legend status MVP for life. We miss you man and gigi
YT_ Phantomzzzッ ur right lets be honest if Kobe and Gigi weren’t on that helicopter than it would have been this big of a deal everyone except the families of the victims would see it, feel some sorrow, and move on the next day I think the 7 others on that helicopter should get much more recognition than what they are given now
@@sushilmagar1818 your so funny but the sad part is how people make fun of his death but they wont even get close to where he got. I bet when u die nobody will give af.
First of all: congrats. Concept, storyboard, character design. Brilliant. But for what i know about Mr Black Mamba... There's a little thing that don't feel right to me. If the opponent would be a person, I think that Kobe took every detail, skill, weakness for challenge him to the max. But against his shadow... take advantage of that limit made the character score, but in my mind, Kobe could think that seem a bit of cutting corners. Anyway: the character won't give up until the score. So... dedication. That's 200% KB.
@@nickrameau938 I hope to say something of understandable, i don't speak english as mother language. When you challenge another human opponent, when the kind of challenge is NBA, you *have* to gain vantage from any weakness of your opponent. You cannot leave anything back, you'll be considered not honoring the challenge. But into this clip KB whas challenging himself. So taking advantages of a limit of your opponent is just like cutting corners. At least, in my opinion... Hope it make sense now for you...

Dr. Omnipotent why is Obama playing basket ball

GameTechツ thank you. I don’t think anyone else realizes that a short film can win an award when the person it is about has passed.

No, this is a reference to Kobe’s younger days, he played shadow basketball in Italy, becouse no Italians wanted to play basketball with him during recess. (They’d rather play soccer). (Shadow basketball is basketball against your shadow.)
@Orlando Rodriguez how? Can you clear why u dissagreem
i think he always played shadow basketball with himself during practise etc, and people do play basketball in Italy and Europe. ofc soccer is more popular but I think this is showcasing how he was his own biggest competition and always wanted to improve and get better and fear wouldn't stop him
I also disagree.
Very fitting... because Kobe always finds a way to win. Yes, even against himself!
Ricardo Santa you forgot the 7 others
YT_ Phantomzzzッ ur right lets be honest if Kobe and Gigi weren’t on that helicopter than it would have been this big of a deal everyone except the families of the victims would see it, feel some sorrow, and move on the next day I think the 7 others on that helicopter should get much more recognition than what they are given now
Do more of Kobe. He got some really great stories of him being a full on legend. Like this one of him being his own enemy that’s amazing.
Kobe the living legend will be always in our hearts. This animation is a masterpiece

He’s greatest enemy is himself, but he managed to deal with it!
Please support my work. I also did an puppet kobe bryant shortfilm:ua-cam.com/video/4LAY6f2dcEY/v-deo.html
Didn't make sense.
Thank You Michael!
Sometimes you don’t have to think outside the box,
I can feel the Mamba Mentality in this animation. Good joob.
Look at Kobe man, so inspirational.
