I love that dress and the minute I saw it I knew could make it - but I was waiting for someone to come up with a pattern and some guidance. That someone was you, Kristin. Thank you so much for being so au courant!
Our 13 year old grand daughter is a Taylor Swift fan, I’d love to make that dress for her. I’ve never crouched a dress but I’ll give it a go, thank you for sharing this crochet pattern.🇦🇺
This is only for the granny stitch - it doesn't tell you the details of the dress. Based on the photos from the designer and of Taylor, it's two panels to make the dress body, two panels for the sleeves, and the bottom and top are finished off with a SC trim.
There is a second video and free pattern page on the dress (all links in video description): www.kristinomdahl.com/how-to-take-your-measurements-and-crochet-a-custom-fit-taylor-swift-dress-free-crochet-pattern/
Kristin I am so happy to see you are back regularly.. 🎉❤❤❤🎉 I do however miss your adventures at the beach 🏖️ but I do understand it can’t be the same always.. welcome back!! 🤗
Thank you, Kristin, this is definitely now in my project queue! But what about the equally gorgeous polo her beau is wearing? Tunisian crochet..? That would be another fabulous make!
Hi Kristin, on your website you recommend worsted weight, but in this video it looks like you’re using a DK wt? I really like the look of this DK yarn, what brand is it?
I also explained that you can use any weight yarn on the pattern page. Follow the gauge instructions to determine how to achieve your size in any weight yarn. You’ll need approx 50% more yarn than a similar long sleeve top to make the dress, regardless of which yarn you use.

Is there a rule on how to decide how many chains we do at the end of each row and between stitches, I guess this is a key on how the work looks , correct?
I crochet 37 stitches. I’m struggling to figure out how many stitches per inch to see how many rows are needed for the body and sleeves. I looked at your notes from your website but feel confused to get the right amount to avoid mistakes.
My grandaughter is a swifty. She ask for this dress to use as a bathing suit cover. Is there a design for this using this stitch? Help. I been put to the challenge
Thanks! A lot of factors determine yardage: yarn weight, gauge, size of garment, length of skirt. For a short dress, I would say 50% more yarn than what you’d purchase for a similar sweater.

Do you have any tips for creating the scoop neckline?
I think it’s just a slightly wide neckline that drapes

Yes, that I understand. I just wanted to know what brand of lighter weight yarn that you are using in the demonstration.
I think it was Hobbii yarns friends cotton 8/6
@@KristinOmdahlthanks!
Can this be made using 6ply yarn? As the place where I live is quite humid and 8ply would make it quite heavy/hot.
Yes! Please read free pattern page (link in video description) for modifying info. It can be made in any weight yarn

Why does it look like some rows look longer
I congratulate you, Kristin, for your patience answering these stupid posts.
lol I have years of practice 🤪
❤🎉
So everyone is referring to this being a granny stitch, but I see it as a version of filet crochet.
This is not complete to make the whole dress!
No it’s not a dress pattern, it’s the stitch pattern and stripe sequence
There's a pattern on ravelry. This video shows the stitch that was used for Taylor's dress
