Absolutely stunning!! I actually slowed down the speed on my computer just to watch you put this beautiful piece together! I love how you used the maple leaves on this piece; who would have thought that! I watch Sarah from Bloom and Gray and Nicole from Flower Hill Farm and your style of arrangement is actually like these two ladies together. You include bold flowers but add the magic that Sarah does. Just beautiful! This video should have thousands of likes!! Thank you so much for sharing this with us!! ha, this video was from 2021 but I just found you. Onto the next video!

Lovely! What did you use as a flower frog?

Thank you! I just have a clear tape (oasis) grid on top, nothing in the vase and I criss crossed the greenery to hold in place. If this vase were any wider, I would have used a chicken wire ball on the inside.

@@flowermama9616 thank you! I use tape and chicken wire too as well as a pin flower frog when needed. I love the branch structure you used! Our floral arranging styles are similar 😊

Beautiful! What variety are the creamy yellow cosmos? And do you have recommendations for a flower planting calendar zone 9b? I’m having such a hard time learning seed starting times!

Thanks! Those are Kiiro cosmos. I don't have a planting calendar for you, but I can tell you that for zone 9b, bulbs go in the ground Oct - Nov. Cool season flowers go in the ground in the fall as well (Sept - Oct.) Check out Lisa Mason Ziegler's book "Cool Flowers" and then summer flowers I always planted first week in May. You can try planting in April, but we've been known to get a freak hail storm. In terms of seeding versus transplanting, in general, the larger seeds = the easier to direct sow. They grow faster. Smaller seeds = start indoors. They're slower. I start summer flower seeds indoors in February. If starting the big seeds like zinnias, cosmos, marigolds which are fast, wait to start till mid March. Hope this helps. A lot is learned through experimentation :)

I liked watching you put together this arrangement. The colours are fantastic together.
BUT... the music is so god awful to put up with. I had to keep it muted so I don't know if you spoke at all.

Hah, so sorry! It's free music on the iMovie app and it was my first time trying a video with music. Would love to figure out how to get more tasteful music on. Glad you liked the video otherwise! (there was no talking in it)
