Thank you so much for posting. I had this LP as a teenager and practically wore it out, "Close as Pages in a Book" and "The Desert Song"being my favorite cuts. But time passed and moves occurred, and somewhere along the way the record got lost. Hearing this most beautiful rendition of "Close as Pages in a Book" again has brought back happy memories
and given me a smile.

Strange that they placed the introductory verse toward the middle of the song.

The hero of the eponymous musical featured here was a reporter for the New York Times, so the only time they played this song on WQXR, the newspaper's station, was on Labor Day. Grazia, Giovanni.
