Great tips here. As far as the “overpricing beats underpricing,” it depends on experience and salesmanship capabilities. If I were a client and needed a project shot with a $1,000 budget in mind, anyone that sent me a quote for $10,000 would immediately be ignored. Don’t undersell yourself, but also don’t shoot for the moon and miss out on jobs that you can bang out quickly. Competitive pricing is still key. If you're a beginner and make 10 grand on a couple of jobs that could've been done for way less, don't think that's guaranteed to happen perpetually.
For newbies to the industry, have you ever thought of showing the process of a job from booking to final product, would love to see content of the in between, if you haven’t already, if you have please let me know!
Really practical advice though I just bought aGh7 as an A cam. My Gh6 becomes a B cam. Allot of actors were impressed but no one else. B roll is so so important.
Great stuff. I wish more newbies would listen to this; of which I am one. I am always considering being more than a DP for my brother when we start making our movie, but I also want to keep up with refining my skills in that area. Thanks again for your advice; I always appreciate it.
True, but in your example, you'd have to do it 9 times just to make up for the one time you missed the larger budget. It's more of a rule of thumb, but it's important to stick with it.

Yes, totally. The numbers in the example are just that, to get the point across. It could also be applied to 100 & 1,000 or 1,000 & 100k.
Dude thank you so much for these videos. Some of my favorite. I hope you keep making them. At your pace of course. Each one is amazing.
More to come!

If you overprice you get $0, if you underprice you get $1000. It's a matter of experience and perspective
