I am very happy that I found your channel and this video in particular. I can relate to so much of what you said. I can draw realistically, but neither that nor painting realistically appeal to me. I like fanciful and dreamy, much like what you are doing here. I have always been very hesitant to use my watercolors or my watersoluble markers, because I'm always afraid that a drop of water will wreck everything, but now that I've seen you seal yours, there's hope for me! Here in southern Italy I can't get the brand of varnish I saw you use, so when I look for a varnish what should | look for? Something for charcoal, or pastels, or acrylic? I don't believe I've ever seen anything for watercolor specifically. Your painting is beautiful and thank you for sharing the process!
Hi Anna! I am so happy to have you here. I was held back by the same fears of "ruining" things with watercolor too. But I cannot recommend this medium enough for allowing yourself to play and experiment. When I searched for a varnish a couple of years ago, I just typed in watercolor safe varish and a couple by the company Krylon popped up and I purchased it either through Blick or Amazon I believe. I actually think they don't provide a perfect water seal though as I think it actually states on the can that you can still rework your painting if you absolutely needed to.... I mostly use them to protect from yellowing and fading from the sunlight. I had a teacher that once sprayed her work with aerosol hair spray to seal it??? 😆 Winsor and Newton also makes a sealant you could try. Happy painting!!! 💙
I put links to specific paints and all my favorite art supplies in the description for ya! And if you have any other questions or would like to see more videos like this, let me know below! Can't wait to chat and connect with other artsy folks! 💜💙💜 Happy painting!!!!
I'm way too familiar with those toxic messages! I love your style and I'm making some dreamy pallets today to make some fantasy scapes. I'm so inspired by your approach!
YAY! I am so happy you are feeling inspired! I hope you paint your heart out today, and tomorrow, and the day after that too! 🤩 Let's pile up a bunch of fantastical paintings on top of those toxic thoughts!
What a gorgeous style you have developed. I am really drawn to these dreamscapes - somehow both elegant and whimsical. Such beautiful work!
Thank you so much Melissa! Whimsical is definitely my vibe. 😊 I hope you have a beautiful day! ✨
