So wild hearing about the haunted lodge near where I grew up in Oregon. I knew it as the Hot Lake Hotel, and it was a regular source of rumors and ghost stories during summer camp bonfires. Nice to see that it's been restored, I think I'll book a trip!
That Alaska ghost be like "been dead for decades and I still gotta do everything around here, these people can't be bothered to water the damn plants!"
I'm not sure why she kept pronouncing the hotel as feester. It's proounced like fister. Source: I know 3 families with that surname. We all live just an hour away.
Nicholas Cage bought the Laluraurie mansion but was scared to stay there so he bought another home nearby to live in. I think he sold it a few years later
The Orpheum Theater in Memphis, TN has a child ghost named Mary who died in a streetcar accident on her way to see a show with her family. I was an usher at the Orpheum for years. I "met" her a couple of times. She has her favorite seats in the orchestra section.
I've been to quite a few of these (the Congress Plaza is my go-to in Chicago), but the one that really got to me was Bloody Lane at Antietam. I've been there many times, but on the 2nd or 3rd visit, I suddenly felt very cold and felt an overwhelming sense of dread and anxiety. I became physically sick from it, but as soon as I walked away towards Burnside Bridge, the feeling just evaporated. I'm a very rational person, but that was a very unsettling experience.
Am I the only Milwaukee native who winced at the pronunciation of Pfister? 😂 (Gentle ribbing, I get you may not look at the name and assume it's Fist-er not Feester.)
Wow you really didn't research Minnesota did you. I mean come on there's even a song about the sunk ship Edmond Fitzgerald you didn't need to look too hard.
I visit Chicago frequently and always stay near the Congress Plaza hotel but I had to cancel the Trip I was going to stay there. I can't wait to go this year and finally get to stay there!
I love Eureka Springs, AR!!!! I have been to the Crescent Hotel, but only during the day. I've been wanting to stay the night someday. I have been fascinated by Victorian architecture since I was a kid, when my parents first started going to Eureka Springs for vacations.
Just two quick corrections For Virginia!!! Just thought I'd add because Radford is literally RIGHT ACROSS THE NEW RIVER From me! Firstly Where I happen to live and where Saint Albans is, Is the Same ZIP Code But they're two entirely separate areas, St. Albans Is Located In Fairlawn Virginia. Radford Is the City RIGHT Next to Fairlawn, Again Same ZIP Sooo if you look it up it says St. Albans is Located In Radford, But it is not!!!! But If I remember Correctly If You search St. Albans Fairlawn You will find on the Official Website for St. Albans Where it says that it's Located In Fairlawn!!!!!
And Number 2 Also It isn't Pronounced AL bans Like your uncle Al, It is However Pronounced All Bans!!!!! And SADLY!!!! St. Albans Has had a Yearly Spooky Season Haunt/Spooky Walkthrough EVERY YEAR And that's Been Wonderful!!!!!! But this year (Probably because of the Pandemic and loss of employees Due to sickness. No idea though I do not have Insider Information) Was the last year that Most of the Haunts in my area were in Business!!! And when I learned of this I was deeply saddened!!!!!!!!! I Have ZERO IDEA if the actual Tours are still available. Apologies for so many random Capital Letters it's a tick That hopefully will go away eventually!!!!!
I actually went to the biltmore estate and also stayed at a nearby haunted hotel, The Omni Grove Park Inn. I wasn't able to full experience the estate because well I was in surgery recovery/wheelchair mode so I couldn't visit to more supposedly haunted parts. Not sure how to feel as I actually have a spooky story from the Inn as me and my family stayed in the Inn's haunted room and I swear to this day that the Pink Lady actually stared/watched me during one of the nights there from the bathroom which was partially open for use as a nightlight. I say the Pink Lady as I know there was nobody in the bathroom, well physically nor visually

New York had this giant, possessed marshmallow monster terrorize the city.
Never heard the Pfister be pronounced that way. 😂 only as fist-er or with a long i sound
Looked this up just to comment on the pronunciation. Mental Floss probably should have figured out how to say it first. Research is important
Massachusetts: Spider Gates is a beautiful place, but also it's a private cemetery, and they take the "Do Not Tresspass" very seriously. Don't try.

I just assumed most of these are caused by gas leaks
It is my understanding that in Villisca, it was bludgeoning.
It isn't "feester;" it's "fister."
