Nice tour of Chong Pang Market's main area. Yeah the fishball noodles you have is pretty old-school. Chong Pang a bit far from me (I'm at North-east side of Yishun) but sometimes when I head down to Chong Pang area to visit my doctor when I was young I'll probably da pao their 冬粉 (glass noodle) soup with some fishballs to ease myself back to recovery. The dessert stall next to it will usually order the 乱七八糟. Prawn pork rib noodles in the morning are good, other than that some people usually whack the yu tiao to pair with the soya bean drinks from the corner shops that you mentioned.
If you go by public transport and don't fancy the 20 minute walk from Yishun MRT, you can get off at Khatib and catch 858 bus going in Woodlands direction - it drops you off nearly outside the FC. Yao Fa stall (01-28) does a nice bowl of Teochew mushroom meat noodles, or at least it did when I was there in 2016.
@@braintransplantdonor haha.. our overseas guru when it comes to Singapore hawker fare. I have never even stepped foot into this neighbourhood before 😅 I’m heard they are in the midst of phasing out these older structures.. so I thought better visit before it’s gone
I love the braised duck and Chwee Kuey at Chong Pang hawker centre. Uncle quite generous with his braised duck portion. The satay stall there is cheaper compared to other parts of Yishun where I stay. My place charges 90cts per stick. Never tried the fishball noodles, will try it now because I love qq noodles and you said the fishballs have texture.
Was it the other braised duck I didn’t get to try? Haha.. I was already 90% filled polishing the CKT and duck rice.. but that nice Lao pan kept saying he do a small bowl for me to try 😅 and I finished it again 🤪😅 would have enjoyed it more on an empty stomach
3:56 That is my food! A bowl of rice with some toppings on it, which you can choose from a variety. My choice: green beans, mixed veggies, a slice of fish and some tofu. And a spoon of spicy sambal.
I remember going to Chong Pang Hawker Centre which was located near a junction at Sembawang Rd before the Sembawang Shopping Ctr in the early 90s. There weren't any flats built then.
Was total empty except for the market.. coz Yishun town was in its inception stages. I think Sembawang Shopping Centre wasn’t there till around the 86.. used to visit a cassette record shop there.. Sembawang Music Centre. Collecting Vinyls was the thing then 😄
德發Kopi and 義新熟食 are my to go place each time if I drop by Chong pang. The mixed veg rice quite cheap and the big drumstick my dog and me love it a lot as I always Davao for ‘em.

One n only wet market in yishun. It never fail to amaze me each time a trip to a hawker center how u can eat at least 3 diff type of main dish. Salute 👏
Starve myself after my food coma at this age 😂 I always tell myself don’t finish it.. but my Asian upbringing wired to not waste food 😖 or that the food is sometimes too good to stop eating
There was a time when places like Chong Pang Hawker Centre and its surroundings were like the perfect atmosphere for Singapore...And then the Government went overboard...
Used to take a bus out to Sembawang park.. that was about it.. and the old crikety bus engines is probably the only thing I’ll hear. But back then Singapore was still cool with lots of misty nights out in the farmlands.. kinda like night safari ride
i doubt we can compete with malaysia for CKT since they have so many types n they taste quite good but for chicken rice, so far only SG has the best Hainanese CR. havent found any good chicken rice in malaysia just yet
Strange huh? Why Malaysia can’t produce the same quality chicken rice? Maybe no access to ice water to super cool the boiled chicken? But I would categorise CKT as completely different. I so love my Penang CKT and it’s fabulous wok Hei aroma with shrimps. But I do also enjoy a dark sweet plate of SG CKT at times too
thanks for sharing, enjoyed watching your videos... 😋👍👍👍
Thanks PL 😊
Hope you’re having a great weekend
Thank you so much for showcasing the Singaporean hawker culture! I really like your videos!!! Must try this place
Thank you 😊
Was my first time there too..
There’s so much life at our centres that needs to be captured for generations to see
Hello you lucky person!!! Boneless duck looks delish! I am drooling!!! Thanks for the video! 🤤🤤
Cooked your own before? 😀
I’m sure you have 😄
Thank you

Hello very good that you show the bus services... This helps us tremendously in trying to locate this hawker center... Thank you so much.

For 品香 hawker stall, my favourite is its dark fried carrot cake n Penang fried kway tiao… lovely couple serving delicious food
They are certainly very nice people..
Makes you happy ordering from them
Miss those old bakery stores! 🙌😊Char Kway Tiao is bomb… looks really good 👍🏻
Hello Serene 😀 I’d usually get the six muscle pack red bean buns for was it $1? but these days the amount of tau Sar inside is very pathetic.

The coffee sold by the Vietnamese ladies is the BEST !
Maybe they added Viet Kopi taste to it 😀
That corner stall in green uniform is it?

Always go for chuan kee duck rice at chong pang, no regrets.
I have not been to Singapore 🇸🇬 for many years and I miss many of my favourite foods In different hawker food centres.
Why not get some soup, veggies and yummy dessert?

Agh you did it again 😂 I was thinking about the Sebawang Hot Spring, this being an 8 minute walk away
I’d be rolling there after 3 polished meals 😵💫😂
