Visiting Japan and buying vintage Doctor Who merchandise - I think you have pretty much described my dream holiday! This was a great and fascinating video - it was truly eye-opening in terms of the breadth of vintage toys available (wasn’t expecting carded Ewoks figures!). Also, the videography was top-notch throughout - You really captured a Japan both that was both vibrant and beautiful.

Great video. Would love to do a Japan toy hunt. Almost every toy store I’ve seen via UA-cam is like walking into a museum. Love the spectrum of things they have and the condition/prices are 2nd to none.

I would LOVE to go to Japan! I am so envious! Japan and England are 2 placesI want to visit. I grew up on Doctor Who, Godzilla and Giant Robots. So...I would be buying Godzilla, Transformers, Microman and Jumbo Machinders! I would blow my budget on the first day.

That was amazing, I've been to Japan so many times while working for Avex, mainly staying in Osaka, Sendai, Tokyo, my biggest surprise was visiting Kobe while playing for an event called Circus Black, we asked the hotel concierge if there were any collectors shops in the area and he laughed and gave us a map and circled the area we should head to. When we found it our jaws hit the floor, it was like a hyper market on 5 floors all packed with precious things, loads of RC kits. vintage Mattel, Kenner, everything pretty much. I bought a mint Ideal Zeroid and a Robbie Robot by Miracle Toys. I love japan as well. Best country to visit along with Australia.

Great Video!! If you didn't yet... I recommend you to match your next trip to some of the amazing toy events in Japan. If you're looking for vintage stuff, you can go to SUPER FESTIVAL (it's held 3 times a year) or WONDER FESTIVAL (2 times a year and is HUGE). Both events have A LOT to see, of course modern and Designer Toys. I'm sure you'll have a great toyhunting there!

Anything worth getting into-I mean ANYTHING-- the Japanese will get into it and get into it deep. They don’t mess around. I once spotted an entire magazine publication dedicated to used denim and denim culture. They are insane with their hobbies and really pushes the envelope about how detailed they can explore about the hobby. So definitely no surprise they have the biggest toy collecting scene in Japan.
I live in Hong Kong and it is quite decent as well. I can say HK is like an abridged version of Tokyo toy hunting. We have almost all the stuff they have there, but less quantity of each item. And the prices are pretty good too.

I would have a hard time passing that Takara Microchange Pistol. That particular model was dubbed "Browning" in the Japan only Transformers "Super God Masterforce" cartoon, and it was basically a tiny robot that transformers into a pistol that was given to one of the Decepticon Headmaster Junior characters Cancer. (Squeezeplay in the West) It is basically a sassy talking gun-bot, while ridiculous, it's my type of ridiculous.

Went to Kyoto the next day and was running around a 2nd hand store, and found the same one, in better condition, NIB... US$ 38 !!
Doesn't happen often, but sometimes, rarely, delaying a purchase can have good results...

This video actually shocked me when I saw something during one of your sweeps. I saw a box for a toy called Ippatsu Gasshin. I've had this toy since my childhood in the 1980's, and I've never known what it's name is, since I didn't keep the box. Unfortunately, the ones on eBay are ridiculously overpriced, so I can't get a complete version, and mine is broken and missing several parts. Still nice to finally know what it is, though!

this was great - heading to Japan mid-year and def gonna check out the Mandarake in Akihabara (have some star wars stuff I would love to find) as its not far from the Warhammer Store & Cafe. Coming back from winter in Japan to Perth's heat must have been a little tough, from freezing to the sun trying to melt us locals.

You seriously tempt me to divert some of my collection budget from my GI Joe ARAH loose quest to some other lines.

Such a fun video. I was most excited to see the shogun Godzilla and how much it cost and how you got it home 😂😂😂
    Still enjoyed the video though
