Okay, I laughed my ass off watching this reaction. "It's a GLASS DOOR!" "This dickhead calls up the Batmobile and drives it all across town and then finds the only guard rail in a GLASS BUILDING". I can't stop laughing. Love it. Thanks for the reaction.
It's HILARIOUS that you guys panned the scene where he falls and fingertip arrests his fall in the ventilation shaft. This was actually done by a stuntman, he did accidentally fall and he did catch the next ledge with his fingertips. They originally thought it was a wasted take but it looked so good they kept it.
I'm not going to waste any more time on this. It is an unequivocal fact that the stuntman, or any human being, could not have done what you described. But if you people want to believe impossible things, you go right ahead. But if you want to convince people, cite your source.
You truly missed the story. The stuntman fell. True. He did not save himself by grabbing the ledge with his fingertips. Those are two different shots. His body bounces off off the side and he is pushed away. You’re adding to the story or believing a Hollywood lie. That’s the business they’re in.
Merry Christmas to all my fellow FNG's. Im happy and proud to be a subscriber to this channel and i can assume everyone watching this channel is a cool individual so merry xmas to all of ya.
Sam Jackson was in the 3rd Die Hard movie. And the villain was the older brother of the villain from the first movie. Also it was Samuel Irons, so he's the voice of Scar from Lion King.
Dude how is it underrated? Everybody knows it is one, and they like show it on TV every Christmas even here in Mordor where I live. I kid you not, this and the second one are regularly run on Christmas/new year's eve here.
On the subject that the bad guys should have had smaller AT4 rockets, bear in mind that this was 1988. I think the AT4 system was only barely out of development at the time.
I saw this when it was in its first run in theaters. At the time I had serious issues with "willing suspension of disbelief." My background was Marine Corps and military communications. I had limited experience with explosives and was the M60 gunner in my platoon. Urban combat was making a comeback in military training. It was almost as if the film makers had never worked in a tall building. The movie LAPD and FBI made the Keystone Kops look like skilled professionals. All of that real-world experience kept taking me out of the moment. Especially the radio work. They ain't telephones--can't receive while transmitting, different frequencies, different frequency bands, different modulation--John McClain wouldn't have been able to talk to anybody. Plus--all that steel would have fouled up radio work among the "terrorists" when they became separated by several floors, depending on power output (four watts max) and frequencies. Then there's radio battery power--depending on which power pack is used, there'd be between 90 minutes and 12 hours of receive time, with transmit time reducing that considerably. Yes, some radio batteries are only good for a couple of hours because of either bad design or poor battery maintenance. Tactics? I'd better not go there. Police and terrorists both had some serious shortcomings.
Large buildings have repeaters that transmit radio signal throughout the structure. This building (the Fox building in Century City) is no different. As for tactics, Die Hard is a timeless classic. The people that put it into production received awards, career success, and lots of money. People who work tactics for the police department don't get anything except for a bi-weekly paycheck and maybe a pension if they stick it out for 22 years. Movies are for entertainment. Die Hard isn't a documentary or an instructional video on how to take over a tall building. Compare a film like Die Hard to a UA-camr who does room-clearing videos. The latter needs Patreon to pay for groceries.
First of all, as a German I can tell you (@ Buck) that your German accent was quite impressive. And yes, you are absolutely right. Being a Teenager in the 80's, the Century of true Tiddies, was just awesome. :-')

19:05 On February 12, 1941, a 43-year old policeman, Albert Alexander, became the first recipient of the Oxford penicillin. He had scratched the side of his mouth while pruning roses, and had developed a life-threatening infection with huge abscesses affecting his eyes, face, and lungs. Dr Alexander Flemming noticed that the patient was getting better, but then they ran out of Penicillin and Alexander unfortunately died of sepsis. So Flemming went to America and asked little known chemical company Pfizer to make as much penicillin as possible, just in time for WW2. The rest is history.
I always thought that the point of the SWAT sticking his hand with a thorn is a 'dig', saying that the SWAT team didn't know anything and was incompetent.
