When they brought up the tourniquet, it made me think of the time that I nearly got kicked off of a ride along while I was going through EMT B School. There was a patient in an MVA, wound to the neck and he was bleeding out. The paramedic I was doing a ride along with thought it would be a high speed idea to put a tourniquet around the guy's neck, and he did not see anything wrong with it. I nearly got into a fist fight with the guy, telling him how he was going to kill that patient, long story short, his partner saw what was happening, and stopped the medic from doing any more damage, then I got my ass chewed out by the medic and by the lt that was working that day, for copping an attitude with the paramedic.

Because I get that they wanted to tell a story about these guys being isolated and pinned down by a sniper, it's a great idea. I would say they should've made the scene into a valley that was a radio deadzone, then have them somehow get pushed into the valley via insurgents, sandstorm, etc. Then, have the two beside each other, John Cena gets sniped, and the round hits the protagonist's leg on the exit, providing him the opportunity to get to cover and be pinned behind "The Wall". That would set up the same thriller aspect. But I don't think there'd be any way to have a single sniper persuade the military to send loads of people to their death.

Since it`s a foreign movie, would you consider doing a Beers and Breakdowns about Street Kings? Thanks for the content and Cheers from your viewer from Rio de Janeiro, Brasil!
I carried pen flare and about 12 flares in my kit while in Iraq on every mission. It weighs nothing and takes up very little space. And yes, radios are tracked and assigned. I could power on my survival radio and BAM!! From Virginia they knew my name and my location.
Ahhhh this reminded me of the funniest goddamn story that a family friend had when he was in Iraq. They were being exfil from a location in iraq and they had been under fire, and everyone was in high tension it just wasn't a great day for them. they were waiting for a chopper to come take them out. Well they get to their exfil site and there is absolutely nothing around them and then all of a sudden he takes 4 to the chest, because the only fucking bush in the entire country, just happened to be 10 feet from them, with a dude hiding in it. So they waste the dude, and he was lucky 3 of the 4 shots hit one of his plates and the other had hit the vest but didn't pentrate, left him with a gnarly bruise. But his hysterical laughter telling this story about the only bush in the entire country just happened to have a dude in it hiding and they had no idea. The wild thing about this movie, is they had a ranger sniper, named Nicholas Irvin on set as an adviser. How the hell did he not tell them how this all worked.
I watched other reaction/ critique videos to The Wall. One was done by a former Sniper none of them brought up communications particular the crypto fill and jargon. FNG your the only ones that have big thumbs up 👍👍.
What baffles me is Doug Liman has made some fantastic movies, including the Bourne Identity, Edge of Tomorrow and American Made. This really strikes me as just cashing a paycheque.
If Nick Cage was the spotter and Steven Seagal was the Afghan sniper I’d give this movie a 98%. Loved this review and I can’t stop watching this movie for some insane reason.
I' m just going to assume the sniper round 7.62 its goes through and traveling another 50 yrs . I will never understand in movies how they never pack the bullets holes with gauze and then bandage. They just cover the holes with a bandaid then walk around with a limp like the just got a flu shot
I enjoyed the two of you busting down this movie more than anything regarding the movie. You should absolutely review Sniper w/Tom Berenger, loved it as a kid,but major inaccuracies...hes shooting out of a moving helo, but the reticle is stone still, like hes shooting off a bench. Plus it spawned a whole series where his kid ends up as a sniper
I work with guy who was a Green Beret in the 1970s. He said once to me (I asked him which watch they had in Nam) they didn't even wear watches. He said they didn't need them. So I guess everything they do is very controlled, like they are saying, you aren't just out there on your own.
I believe I saw something that the original ending was issac actually shot the sniper and got him then get in the helicopter and lived but the test screened audience didn’t like that ending and they changed it to this shitty ending
This had me laughing hysterically all the way through. It's like one of those horror movies where a bunch of idiots go to a cabin in the woods, the bridge gets washed out by a storm ... and then one by one, they leave the cabin to go "check things out", and even though they don't return because they're getting killed, the next person goes out ... wtf. I guess this guy thought, what if we do that, but change the setting to a desert combat zone, and have the entire US Military act like a bunch of civilian, hipster, unprepared morons. What a twist!!!!
Actually, to the point about radios being one method of tracking the troops - in that case, could the sniper not be targeted by a missile/strike team once his tactic is discovered? Obviously it doesn't help the guys right then, but subsequently, HQ could organise a response to stop the radio being passed around and the tactic being repeated elsewhere. Yes, I know it's fiction, I'm speculating about a plot-hole.
Dudes. How many times do I have to say it. Breakdown ’kajaki’ it’s a true story of British paras trapped in a minefield in Afghanistan. It’s fantastic. And also breakdown clear and present danger.
I have done jobs where we have comms (not in the military, but security work) and once a dude got a radio and it took me like 5 seconds to realize it and this is not one of our guys. It is so obvious, like they said.
One of the things I hate about movies and bullet wounds. Oh, yes get the bullet out and you will be fine. Such BS. Bullets are left in people all the time after being shot. You are only going to cause more damage and make yourself bleed out faster if you take the bullet out. Same for impaling scenes, leave the object in unless you want to bleed out before help gets to you.
Yes. My father lived a long life with a small calibre round floating near his spine which the surgeon said at the time was to risky to go for as the operation would cause more damage than the wound channel had. As new techniques like keyhole surgery came in, they looked at the possibility of removing the bullet, but it never caused any trouble, so it stayed.
Abel: ‘How do you break it down in a tactical perspective for saying he is a dumb ass?’ Me having a flashback Buck went off and saying dozen shit like Joe Rogan’s wiener to describe it is dumb af 😂 Mad respect Buck’s talent
The truth is Doug Liman is a pretty good and known director. He directed movies like The Bourne Identity (2002), Edge of Tomorrow (2014) and American made (2017), which is a very good movie about a real pilot (played by Tom Cruise) who worked undercover for the CIA and transported drugs and weapons for Pablo Escobar in the 80's. But I agree, this movie really isn't one of his good works - maybe the script wasn't good and lacked realism. It's not always 100% the director's fault.
I am just speaking from my knowledge of tourniquets you put it high and tight initially then you put another one 2 to 3 inches above the wound. Tccc has changed a little since you were in but as a corpsman now he wasn't entirely dumb for putting it 2 to 3 inches above if the tourniquet was tight enough to stop the bleed. And putting a tourniquet high and tight on your self isn't as easy as just above the wound.
You guys talking about this not being a strong simplistic movie reminded me of Mine. That one is a pretty good military movie that nails the simplicity.
Hey Buck! Love the videos and have been really helpful as with your tips I’m starting my training with the Royal Air Force next week! I’d love to see you react to a British war film called “kajaki: the true story” it’s such a good watch!
After this, you need to check out the movie called "mine". Probably one of the most boring movies I have ever watched besides Ryan Reynolds buried alive movie. Spoiler alert, the guy is standing on a landmine the whole movie. Also not only did this sniper shoot down a helicopter before anyone radioed that they were taking fire, but there were TWO helicopters that landed, where's the other one? Did he shoot down this one too? They took this good horror concept and just made it not scary with how goofy it is, it might have been more of a thriller if his radio was somehow damaged and could never get contact with the sniper or command. I get that is like the whole "spooky" part of the movie, but it just makes no sense, how is this random guy in a pile of trash intercepting the radio? Too many obvious questions even non- military would ask, that removes any scary factor about the movie.
As soon as I saw you did the breakdown of this movie, I began to laugh and couldn't wait to watch. I knew it would be epic. I was a radio guy and the first thing I was thinking was how did this guy get their crypto and why wasn't he on freq hop. Let's say the sniper stole a radio. He would only have one opportunity to use it because the next crew out would be on a totally different fill and different channel. That was crazy and stupid. But then again, these movies aren't made for us. They are made to entertain civilians. Thank you for the laughs.
I was hoping you would cover the conversation they had at the start where it appears that a sniper and his spotter, who should be close enough to whisper to each other, are talking of comms which are overheard by the enemy. They chat about the fact that he keeps using a compromised but of kit (the spotting scope which keeps getting fogged up) because it belonged to a buddy. Don't take kit which isn't up to the job, even I can figure that out and I've only ever done target shooting.
I have never been in the military but (spoiler alert ahead!) the scene where the one sniper is down and the other behind the wall with his M4, the dude with the M4 should have laid down covering fire to allow John Cena to use his rifle. But somehow these Rangers never thought of that.
😂😂 I love this, These direct to streaming flicks are the best... Idk how they make em like this. Makes Stallone and Schwarzenegger 80s movies look like Golden 😂 and believable like Commando or Rambo
@FNGACADEMY. Hello late to the party on this one, when you said you don't research anything like Google info on topics or certain things from movies you were serious I now can see. There is a tourniquet that is for the hip and waist area that's for injuries that are larger than just one bullet round or are more than one round.Depending on that wound I would've applied above and below as well as GSW seal patches non vented entry and exit if needed which most likely will be needed.I gave you guys a reply on a helicopter question you asked on stealth entry if possible and how on another vid.
I can confirm this movie is inaccurate because the sniper could see John Cena

I told one of my Dad's PT "nurses" that you, as a first responder, NEVER try to dig out a round, because you end up doing more damage than the GSW.
Hey! Serious talk! Watch "Peacemaker"! It's a series based on the John Cena character in Suicide Squad. That show SLAPS! If you like black humor, and I know you do, it's really good! It's not AS good as "The Boys" but it's up there!
P.S. please react to "Waltz with Bashir"! It's an Israeli war movie and it won a ton of awards and stuff. Imho the best war movie ever made! Highly underrated! And it's on UA-cam too (English subtitles) , but the quality is not so good. Seriously, it's a legendary movie!
P.P.S. please stop the censoring... Baby Jesus cries everytime you censor Sean!
If you like the brand stone (they make great beers) try their dead guy ale and double dead guy ale...super good. Double dead guy is hard to find sometimes depending on where you are
Hey Buck @FNG ACADEMY, I watched the youtube short you made about the Ruck Trainer and gave you a hand because people were asking where to buy it, but you didn`t post a link to your website, and so I replyed to them the FNG URL :) I don`t know if you remember me, but I asked you to consider doing a beers and breakdowns about Elite Squad.
How would you guys rank the accuracy of this movie over American Sniper?
I watched other reaction/ critique videos to The Wall. One was done by a former Sniper none of them brought up communications particular the crypto fill and jargon. FNG your the only ones that have big thumbs up 👍👍.
army sf the one that i respect, i think the best men in covert ops come out of that training.
Lol the director Doug Liman did the first Bourne movie and Edge of Tomorrow
Hope you look in Beers and Breakdowns at Navy Seals from 1990, 6 Days about Iranian Embassy and french movie L’Assaut.
just watched it.... SO GOOD!!!
I' m just going to assume the sniper round 7.62 its goes through and traveling another 50 yrs . I will never understand in movies how they never pack the bullets holes with gauze and then bandage. They just cover the holes with a bandaid then walk around with a limp like the just got a flu shot
Have you done The Pacific? keep up the great work!💪
You guys should review The Kingdom with Jamie Foxx next,
I enjoyed the two of you busting down this movie more than anything regarding the movie.
That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. The T in GOTWA is for time. If you don't have a watch you can't measure the time.
The wounded guy could tell him from what direction the shot came from, to have an idea to where the sniper may be
Crazy thing is Doug Lyman made the original Jason Bourne movies with Matt Damon.
Exactly! He also made Edge of tmrw which was surprisingly good but he definitely dropped the ball this time around.
thats what those cops in that texas school shooting were saying to all those kids your on your own guys have fun
Hey guys it's me, your fellow security guard. Can you remind me where we keep all of our keys to the stuff that we're guarding?
"shit some hipsters did on a hike" fucking dead
Abel: ‘How do you break it down in a tactical perspective for saying he is a dumb ass?’
Me having a flashback Buck went off and saying dozen shit like Joe Rogan’s wiener to describe it is dumb af 😂
Mad respect Buck’s talent
Never forget, one of these two shat his pants and showed it to a class. Respect.
It's not always 100% the director's fault.
the lion movie Abel mentions is "ghost in the darkness"
Oh, the scammer got blasted 😂
I wish you guys would review the show the selection
If you want a good war movie, try Kajaki. Based on the events at Kajaki Dam in Afghan
The spotter is played by Aaron Taylor Johnson.
You should breakdown The Shooter, that has mark wahlberg!
I have never been in the military but (spoiler alert ahead!) the scene where the one sniper is down and the other behind the wall with his M4, the dude with the M4 should have laid down covering fire to allow John Cena to use his rifle. But somehow these Rangers never thought of that.
Want to know what would make this movie better? If one of the characters were like "hey what are you wearing" or "no you hang up first"
😂😂 I love this,
These direct to streaming flicks are the best...
Idk how they make em like this.
Makes Stallone and Schwarzenegger 80s movies look like Golden 😂 and believable like Commando or Rambo
Comms tip. Never say “repeat”. SAY AGAIN. Repeat is for artillery fire
Just wondering I know this is not a movie but would you guys do a breakdown of Band of Brothers and The Pacific.
Dog Soldiers please! It's a great film.
Awesome breakdown. The suspense was good, but that was the only thing about this movie that was good. Y'all nailed it. 👍👍
Are you gonna breakdown the Netflix Punisher with Jon Bernthal?
eventually yes
its the military version of Cast Away with Tom Hanks.
Hi I watched every beer and breakdown. So funny. Anyway speaking of saving pivate ryan, how do we survive on the beach?
